Chapter 56. A kick and a fist

The bleachers were completely full.

In a fighting platform of the death arenas, Hourglass and Treehill stood at one end.

However, their opponent was yet to arrive.

"Did he reject the death duel?"

"Is he afraid of them?"

"What the hell is going on?"

Many started to whisper among themselves.

They had been here for about five to ten minutes.

Aiden Vhorn was yet to show up.

Could it be that he rejected the death duel?

Suddenly, a brown-haired figure with dark eyes clad in a t-shirt, jeans, and sneakers calmly walked into the platform.

"It’s Aiden Vhorn."

"He really showed up."

"Interesting."

"I bet on Treehill and Hourglass."

"Heh, if Aiden Vhorn wins, I’ll take you out on a date."

"How daring!"

Several discussions broke out as anticipation spread across the place.

"Rejecting the offers to join our societies was one thing," Treehill said, "but killing our society members, you went too far."

"No need for words, let’s just kill him." Hourglass hissed coldly.

Aiden was calm.

He didn’t reply to any of their statements.

Treehill equipped his battlesuit.

The battlesuit was an advanced rank 1 battlesuit.

A warrior’s strength had to be equivalent to their battlesuit. This was because their worldly energy density had to match that of the battlesuit in order for them to equip the battlesuit. This was a principle that solely worked with battlesuits and weapons.

A trident appeared in his hand.

Grains of sand formed and danced across the trident.

Hourglass manifested several large wooden spears. They all floated before her.

Treehill slashed forward with his trident. The trident came down on Aiden. Condensed sand blades trailed ahead of the descending trident towards Aiden.

The large wooden spears floating before Hourglass also shot towards Aiden.

Contrary to what many were expecting, Aiden did not move.

He was still standing in the same spot.

Then, he vanished.

Too fast... the audience thought.

The large wooden spears, the blades of sand, and the trident met thin air.

Aiden reappeared before Treehill.

His fist came down. Just his right fist. He didn’t even use his blood.

Treehill could not react in time.

The fist met the helmet of his battlesuit, cracked the armor, and pierced his temple. Then, vibrations spread through his skull. His skull cracked.

The organs in the head shook and burst, and his head exploded.

Only his headless body remained.

Blood splurged across the place.

The headless body fell with a dull thud.

His trident fell. And the blades of sand disappeared.

Aiden was so fast that Hourglass did not even have time to process what had happened.

She was next. She only felt a breeze across her.

Aiden spun, then descended on her from above with a kick.

Pa...

Crackkkk... The neck region of the battlesuit cracked open. Aiden’s leg met her neck.

Her neck bent unnaturally. She screamed in pain as her vision reeled.

The force from Aiden’s kick caused her figure to shoot towards a wall. Her figure smashed into the wall. Blood splurged out of her mouth as she coughed and looked at Aiden weakly.

His eyes were calm, detached. As if what he was doing was a simple task to execute and move on.

"Am I going to die? Why did we have to offend this person?" These were her last thoughts before her vision went dark forever, and her corpse fell on the ground with a resounding thud.

Her wooden spears disappeared.

Aiden absorbed the blood essence of her corpse and the blood essence of Treehill’s corpse.

After that, he turned around and walked out of the arena, leaving the stunned spectators to process what had just happened.

"He didn’t even use his affinity? How high is his physical strength!"

"He killed them with just... his fist and a kick? Just how the hell is this possible? He was so fast that they could not even react in time to his attacks."

"Did you see how calm he was? It was as if he was performing a chore. Is this guy really a newly awakened warrior?"

"No wonder he’s called the Crimson Reaper. This Aiden Vhorn is simply too scary."

"His polite and calm demeanor is a facade. It actually makes him more terrifying!"

"This guy literally just killed two advanced rank 1 warriors as if he was taking a walk in the park."

"Killing legendary rank 1 chaotic beasts with tactical acumen is terrifying in its own right and unheard of. I don’t downplay that. But this was a direct battle between him and two advanced rank 1 warriors. I thought that even if he would win, it would have been a drawn-out battle."

"After killing them, he left as if he had done nothing."

"The Treehill and the Hourglass Societies are finished. Their remaining members will most likely join other societies."

The powerful societies that had been planning to get rid of Aiden Vhorn decided to rethink their decision.

When Treehill and Hourglass encountered him, he was weak. No one would have thought Aiden Vhorn would grow so quickly to get rid of them.

Treehill and Hourglass underestimated him. Because of that, their corpses were laying in a death arena and their societies had been destroyed. All this was done by Aiden Vhorn.

They were not stupid enough to repeat the same mistake.

Even societies led by rank 2 warriors decided to not antagonize Aiden Vhorn any longer.

This guy was unpredictable. He was always several steps ahead and was terrifying. If one underestimated him, they could die before they knew how.

They would only attempt to recruit him into their societies amicably. If he refused to join them, they would stay out of his way. They were not avoiding offending him because of strength, but his unpredictable, tactical nature and his potential.

Also, someone who could slaughter several legendary, expert, and advanced rank 1 chaotic beasts with tactical acumen was not someone to look down on. He was worth leaving alone rather than offending.

Asmodeus, Desmonda, Candice, Seraphina, and Luke left the place.

As expected, they were not shocked. They had witnessed firsthand in the pocket world what Aiden was capable of. This much was to be expected.

Currently, Vultor Han was standing somewhere in the bleachers; he quietly sighed and remembered the time he offended Aiden.

It sent chills up his spine.

Had he proceeded to offend Aiden further, he would have been dead by now. Fortunately, he used his brain, and he was still alive.

He sighed and left.

The students left the death arenas with shock, discussing the battle that had just occurred.

A bot incinerated the corpses of Treehill and Hourglass.

Soon, the arena was completely empty.
