Chapter 92. Burning Sands Mountain Range

Aiden came out a few moments later after finishing the assessment.

He had officially upgraded his rank to that of a legendary rank 1 warrior.

Marvin stood up, about to approach him.

But he realised Aiden didn’t even look in his direction.

"Time to leave for Burning Sands City" Aiden thought.

Aiden walked out of the Warriors Association Building.

The woman at the counter smiled when she saw the look on Marvin’s face. Marvin had realized that Aiden Vhorn was too focused on himself to even notice him. He was like a nuisance.

"I need to change from now on" Marvin sighed and went to the counter, planning to update his rank. Even though he had become an advanced rank 1 warrior in just a year, he did not feel boastful about his accomplishment anymore, not after his encounter with Aiden Vhorn.

"Some young warriors these days are so impulsive. This will serve as a lesson to this Marvin. Aiden Vhorn is too focused on himself to even notice him. The greatest level of humbling experience someone with a big ego can ever receive" The woman at the counter thought.

As for those in the lobby, they had found some juicy gossip to discuss on campus. Marvin, the prick, had been finally put in his place by Aiden Vhorn, the famed Crimson Reaper of Derulo City University, who was in the city for his personal reasons.

Aiden stood outside the Warriors Association building.

He took another cab and arrived at the residential district, the Eastern part of the city.

The Burning Sands Mountain range was located behind the Eastern part of the city.

The car pulled to a stop before a safe zone that led outside the eastern district.

"I can’t go any further sir" The driver said.

Aiden nodded and paid the man.

After that, he walked towards the safe zone.

He went through a route that led uphill.

Along the way, he saw many hikers hiking in the safe zone mountains in the city.

He even chanced on two teenagers having a romantic picnic.

"How can they have a picnic in this snow?" Aiden thought as he walked past them.

He eventually arrived at the edge of the safe zone.

There was a fence and a sign ahead.

Do not go further. Safe zone limits reached.

This was designed to keep normal people away from crossing into unsafe territory.

What lay ahead was not the danger zone of the city. It was not a threat to be classified as a danger zone.

But it was not part of the safe zone either.

The safe zones of cities usually had places like that outside them. They usually contained wild animals that could be a threat to non warriors/ normal people but were harmless to warriors.

Because of that, they could not be classified as danger zones, nor could they be classified as safe zones.

Blobs of blood appeared before Aiden and transformed into crimson wings and attached themselves to his back.

Aiden flapped his wings and flew above the trees ahead, crossing the safe zone limits.

He flew for a day.

Airo City became smaller and smaller behind him until it was unnoticeable.

Very soon, he saw several mountains looming on the horizon.

The mountains had white peaks. Snow fell from the skies. The winds blew. His brown hair billowed.

Aiden’s crimson eyes narrowed as he scanned the region ahead.

"Does Burning Sands City even have a danger zone and a safe zone? I doubt it. Cities like burning sands can be found in every continent and every empire" Aiden thought "Because they are infested with criminals, and crime Lords, the warriors association leaves them alone. It’s not that they can’t get rid of such cities, but they would rather invest their manpower and resources into securing cities that are capable of thriving. There are no danger zones, and no regulatory agencies to handle crime infested cities, manage beast tides or gate phenomenons in these cities. This is worse than being sanctioned.

It’s a way of leaving them to beasts and gate phenomenons to eliminate them. Usually, the criminals either abandon the city when beast tides and gate phenomenons become too difficult to handle or they deal with such phenomena themselves"

Aiden snapped out of his thoughts.

He saw several people in a valley between two mountains. The valley contained a lot of trees and had turned snow white as a result of the snow.

The group contained about sixty expert and advanced rank 1 warriors. A mixture of men and women.

The group had several people bound in some strange looking chains. Those bound in chains were 15.

The people bound in chains were full of advanced, expert and intermediate rank 1 warriors. There were men and women among them.

This meant that the people bound in chains were either students of some university that had been kidnapped and brought here to be transported to Burning Sands city for human trafficking or they were also criminals who were in this state because of a feud with their captors.

"I should quickly kill them, absorb their blood essence and move on" Aiden thought.

Aiden listened to the conversation happening between the group as he flapped his crimson wings towards their location.

"You can’t do this to us!" An expert rank 1 warrior bound in chains said.

"Heh. You don’t really understand the situation you are currently in" A very short looking guy stepped forward. He was dressed in loose robes and jeans. His protruding belly jutted back and forth like a breathing mountain. He smiled "You are not in any position to speak. You are the ones who decided to approach Burning Sands City knowing the risks. You student warriors these days are so full of yourselves"

"Please..." A lady cried "If you let us go, we will give you anything, energy cores, name them"

"Heh. Why should we take your energy cores and let you go when we can just torture you for them, take them from you and still sell you to some human trafficker in Burning Sands City?" The man with the big belly sneered.

These student warriors were so full of themselves.

The students were shocked. They did not expect this to happen to them. They were students from Airo City University. They had taken on a mission with a lot of contribution points. It was to destroy a human trafficking ring in Burning Sands City. To think, this would be their fates. Their friends had warned them when they took on the mission. To think they’d be in this situation because of their carelessness.

Suddenly, a glint flashed through the eyes of the man with the big belly.

He looked up towards the skies.

"Another prey is approaching"

The person he was talking about was, naturally, Aiden, flying towards them with his crimson wings.

"Wait... how can he use aerial maneuvering on such a level. This person looks weak, but he’s not... vacate the area"

The man shouted.

"Yes boss" His lackeys grabbed the students, about to run off.

Blobs of blood appeared before Aiden.

The blobs of his blood transformed into a large crimson sword that blotted out the skies.

"What the hell is that?" A student warrior cried.

The crimson sword was so large.

The large crimson sword sliced through the clouds.

One moment it was in the sky. In another, it had already appeared near the group of 75 people.

Puchi...

A slashing sound was made. The sword sliced through the bodies of both the captors and their captives, pierced through organs and tore bodies apart cleanly.

Blood splurged on the snow white ground. Severed bodies fell apart and rolled to a stop.

Both the students and their captors did not even know how they died.

All 75 people, were dead.
