The Mayor of Derulo City, his chief of staff, some warriors Association higher ups, and other beginner rank 3 warriors were here, monitoring the situation across the city.

Threats that required their active intervention were yet to appear, so they were preserving their energy.

So far, the warriors from various organizations were managing to contain the threats. Most of the surviving civilians had already been evacuated to underground shelters. The situation was not looking so bad.

Although some of the warriors had died, it was normal. Warriors always walked the thin line between life and death.

" 400 legendary rank 1 chaotic beasts headed towards the northern district. More reinforcement is needed there, sir," Someone seated in front of a holographic screen said.

The mayor of the city, a beginner rank 3 warrior, clad in a suit, squinted his eyes as he stared at the screen.

" One of the underground shelters is close to where those creatures are headed. If they are not killed on time, all the civilians will die. Are there no warriors nearby we can contact?" Mayor Ishbar said.

" Not really sir. All the warriors are currently occupied with chaotic beasts of their own. The instructors and fourth year students of Derulo City University, alongside the legendary rank 2 warriors of the Warriors Association , and other associations spread across the city are also handling the rank 2 chaotic beasts across the city," Someone replied.

" What of the instructors who remained on the university campus?" Wilson Creed, the chief of staff of the Mayor, Desmonda’s father, said.

" I don’t think they are available honey," Desmonda’s mother, Angela Creed, replied. "Just received news that a legendary rank 2 chaotic beast attacked the university, leading a horde. Pamela Ashira, Cosmo Adams and several powerful instructors are dealing with them. Their hands are full at the moment."

Everyone sighed.

Did they have to directly intervene?

" Switch to the rank 1 student warriors and let’s see what they are up to," Mayor Ishbar commanded. "Perhaps, there are some we can rely on. If we intervene directly, we will risk depleting our stamina in case more serious threats we should handle make an appearance. That will put the city in more jeopardy."

" Yes sir," The person navigating the hologram replied.

The hologram enlarged and divided itself into several small sections where multiple rank 2 warriors were engaged with other chaotic beasts.

Asmodeus, Luke, Seraphina, Candice, and Desmonda were even displayed.

Each one of them was a different part of the city, engaged in a skillful battle of their own with chaotic beasts.

Other rank 2 warriors were also fully occupied and engaged in battles of their own.

" It seems the situation is dire. Those at the shelter may perish.. we-"

Before a beginner rank 3 warrior from the Warriors Association could finish speaking, a crimson looking figure was spotted on the screen.

" Hold on. Focus on him," Mayor Ishbar commanded.

" Who’s he?" The mayor asked.

The person tapped on something. A profile of the person on the screen appeared.

" Aiden Vhorn. The Crimson Reaper?" Mayor Ishbar said.

Everyone realized it was him.

So it was that young man making waves across the city and influential circles. Everyone thought.

Rumors were that he even rejected all the offers of several powers across the city to sign contracts that after his two year military service he’d join their organisations.

Apparently, some of these powers didn’t take it well. While some decided it was too risky to offend a young man with terrifying potential, and thought making a decision to offend him may come back to bite them in the future, others felt he should be eliminated. To them, if he didn’t join their organization,he could join another organization and become an asset to that other organization that could threaten them in the future. This was how the world of warriors worked.

So, they had plans of sending assassins after him. They could not threaten him openly because there were rumors that Pamela Ashira, the daughter of the old fox Ashbourne Cane, had his back. However, they could send assassins after him or covertly eliminate him.

Wilson Creed and Angela Creed had looks of intrigue on their faces. This was the friend their daughter had been talking about lately.

They wanted to back him. But because of the political situation of the city, they could not do that. It would implicate their guild and the mayor’s office. The situation was too delicate. Most powers wanted to kill the young man. Even if they were rank 3 warriors and they could survive the wrath of the powers that wanted him dead by protecting him, their guild, and the diplomatic relations between them, the mayor’s office and these powers in the city would suffer from that.

The consequences of backing him exceeded the benefits. Not everyone had the backing of Pamela Ashira to back the young man without any reservations.

He could only rely on himself. They were rooting for him to survive. If he survived all the troubles ahead of him, he’d become terrifying. Perhaps, a budding romance could even bloom between him and their dense daughter in the future.

The eyes of the head of the Warriors Association in Derulo City flashed with a glint.

After one of their personnel informed them about Aiden Vhorn’s feats, they devised a solution to get him on their side even before the other powers in the city approached him.

They sent him an agreement that stated he’d be given extremely great benefits. The condition was that he works permanently for the Warriors Association after his two years military service.

Aiden Vhorn rejected the offer to their surprise.

Since he rejected their offer, he would not have the association’s backing in times of trouble. Those assassinations ahead of him, he’d have to handle them himself.

" Is he not heading towards where the 400 legendary rank 1 chaotic beasts are?" Mayor Ishbar said.

" Affirmative sir," The person navigating the hologram said.

" What does he hope to achieve? He’s just an advanced rank 1 warrior. He’s powerful and talented no doubt. But 400 legendary rank 1 chaotic beasts will get him killed," Someone said.

" Don’t underestimate this young man," Angela Creed said. "He killed legendary rank 1 chaotic beasts in a pocket world."

" Indeed. Angela," Mayor Ishbal stated. "It seems we have no choice but to expect another impossible feat from this young man. If not, those at the nearest underground shelter will all die."

Everyone nodded.
