Chapter 305 - Space Element
Theo’s eyes locked onto a huge chunk of ice that’d formed above him.
’Time to go!’ he thought, lightning crackling around his body.
CRACKLE!
He shot forward just as the enormous mass of ice came crashing down.
Within moments, he’d crossed several dozen yards.
BOOOOM!!!
The entire desert floor shook as the chunk of ice slammed into the ground.
Countless chunks of ice flew everywhere as a huge cloud of dust and sand rose into the air.
Theo glanced back for only a moment.
A huge crater had opened up where the ice prison had been only a few seconds ago.
’That would’ve flattened me,’ he thought, gulping.
On the other hand, the man’s expression had grown considerably darker.
’How did he escape that?’ he thought, gritting his teeth. ’I poured more than a fifth of my mana into that damn prison!’
Normally, it would’ve taken seconds for someone to break out.
Maybe someone with a fire affinity would be out a bit sooner. Or someone could break out by using a huge amount of mana.
But that clearly wasn’t the case.
In fact, he hadn’t even sensed any mana activity inside the prison to begin with!
’Fuck!’ he cursed as his eyes locked onto Theo.
With his ridiculous speed, most of his usual attacks wouldn’t work either.
After only a moment, he clenched his fists as a cold glint entered his eyes.
’Fine,’ he thought, gathering spatial mana around himself. ’I’ll do it another way.’
Theo immediately noticed the change.
He’d only just started closing the distance again when the man suddenly vanished.
WHOOSH!
Theo slid to a halt, his eyes darting around.
’Where?’
For a split second, there was no sign of the man.
WHOOSH!
Theo suddenly felt something behind him.
The man had already appeared, his sword swinging straight towards Theo’s neck.
’Shit!’
Theo immediately poured more mana into his Thunder God Body spell.
CRACKLE! CRACKLE!
Lightning crackled violently through his body, stimulating him to the limit.
At the last possible moment, Theo managed to move out of the way.
The blade passed barely an inch away from his neck.
But the man didn’t stop there.
Spatial mana gathered around him for less than half a second.
WHOOSH!
He vanished again.
This time, however, Theo was prepared.
WHOOSH!
The man appeared directly beside him with his sword in motion.
Theo twisted his body immediately and kicked out with all his strength.
BANG!
His foot slammed straight into the man’s stomach.
’Got you!’
Theo immediately tried following up, swinging his umbrella towards him.
But the man had already vanished again.
WHOOSH!
He reappeared nearly fifty yards away.
’’Urgh...’’
The man stumbled several steps back, one hand clutching his stomach.
Theo’s kick had clearly done some damage.
’’Fine,’’ the man grumbled, wiping some blood from the corner of his mouth. ’’We’ll do this differently.’’
A huge amount of ice mana suddenly started gathering above him.
Another chunk of ice rapidly formed in the air, quickly surpassing the size of the previous one.
Theo’s expression shifted slightly.
’I need to interrupt that,’ he thought. ’And fast!’
CRACKLE! CRACKLE! CRACKLE!
Several huge lightning bolts formed around him.
Each shot forward instantly, heading straight for the man.
But instead of dodging... a strange smile appeared on the man’s face.
Suddenly, he released the chunk of ice.
WHOOOOOSH!!!
The enormous chunk immediately began crashing down towards his own head.
Theo’s eyes widened slightly.
’What the fuck is he doing?’ he thought.
The lightning bolts were closing in from the front while the enormous mass of ice was falling from above.
’Wait... it couldn’t be, right?’
Without another thought, Theo dashed away from his spot.
But the man simply continued smiling.
’’You realized?’’ he said, letting out a chuckle. ’’Unfortunately, more distance isn’t going to do anything for you.’’
Spatial mana erupted around the man.
WHOOSH!
Theo’s vision suddenly changed.
’Fuck!’
He suddenly found himself standing directly beneath the chunk of ice.
Even his own lightning bolts continued heading towards him.
’He switched our fucking positions!’
Without another thought, Theo unfolded his umbrella.
Just before the attacks could reach him, his body suddenly transformed completely into water.
BOOOOOM!!!
The enormous chunk of ice slammed into his water body.
SPLASH!
Theo’s entire body exploded apart.
Water scattered in every direction, splashing across the sand as countless frozen chunks mixed in between.
The man stared at the sight for a moment.
Then a crazed laugh escaped his mouth.
’’HAHAHAHA!’’ he laughed. ’’Fucking brat! You really thought you could fight me?!’’
Even Owen and Lucienne couldn’t help but glance over.
’’Theo?!’’ Owen’s rocky voice rang out loudly.
Unfortunately, no response came back.
Unbeknownst to them, Theo was still completely conscious... just not physically capable of talking.
’What is this?’ he thought.
He couldn’t feel any pain.
Instead, an immense feeling of discomfort spread through his body.
His mind was overstimulated instantly, each drop of liquid sharing the vision of its surroundings.
’This feels fucking horrible!’
Fortunately, the water had slowly started pulling back together.
Seconds ticked by as the man continued laughing maniacally and his friends stared on in disbelief.
Finally, the man’s laughter slowly began to die down.
’’What...?’’ he muttered, eyes narrowing.
Streams of water rushed back towards each other.
Within seconds, a human figure holding an umbrella began taking shape.
WHOOSH!
Theo’s body completely reformed in the middle of the battlefield.
’’Ugh...’’ he let out, cracking his neck. ’’Never again...’’
The man simply stared at him, his eyes and mouth wide open.
Even Owen, Lucienne, and the two they’d been fighting couldn’t help but glance at him in disbelief.
Just then, Theo’s head snapped up.
’’Enough of this bullshit,’’ he muttered.
WHOOOSH!!!
Water spread from beneath his feet, instantly lifting him several yards into the air.
But that wasn’t all.
The water rapidly flooded out beneath his feet in every direction.
SPLASH! SPLASH! SPLASH!
Within seconds, it’d caught up to the man and swallowed him whole.
The man blinked out of it instantly, reappearing another fifty yards to the side.
Only to get swallowed by the water once again.
’’WHAT THE FUCK?!’’ Owen shouted at the same time.
Water surged around his stone legs.
Even the gold core fighting him had been caught inside it, unable to move as it dragged him under.
But Theo just ignored them, his gaze locked onto the man.
’’Try blinking out of this,’’ he said coldly.
