Chapter 120: Kevin Makes His Move
Hearing this, the girls were all stunned.
Amelia’s voice trembled slightly. "So you’re saying... that guy with the boomerangs might be a Survivor who came to this terrifying sea much earlier than us?"
Eliana nodded and explained, "Yes. You saw it yourselves. The way he took out that potion was just like any other Survivor. You can all make things appear out of thin air - that’s something we low-level Eldritch Entities can barely do. Also, I could sense the power of an evil god from him. He’s probably worshipping one and has received a blessing from it."
Hearing this, Kevin’s frown deepened.
In his previous life, he had survived on this terrifying sea for over three years. He had never heard anything about the Black Curtain driving all Survivors toward a whirlpool.
Maybe that happened after I died.
Kevin muttered to himself, then started to speculate about what had eventually happened to Bella and Joseph in his past life.
Those two bastards had gotten Kevin killed. In the end, they probably still had to face the Black Curtain’s push, forcing them into the whirlpool and into an even more dangerous sea to face new challenges.
Just thinking about how the terrifying Black Curtain treated Survivors like a flock of sheep being herded made Kevin’s understanding of this world shatter all over again.
What kind of world is this? And what exactly are those evil gods?
Kevin asked a string of questions.
But Eliana’s knowledge was limited. She looked at him apologetically, her eyes watery.
Kevin knew she had already told him everything she could. He gently patted her head and comforted her. "It’s okay. Once we gather more resources, we can buy answers from Lilith."
Kevin turned his gaze to Draven’s stone statue, his expression cautious. "It looks like the [Medusa’s Aegis] can’t kill him for good."
The moment Kevin finished speaking, cracks began to appear all over the surface of Draven’s stone statue.
Piece by piece, the stone fragments fell off. Draven’s body suddenly swelled up. His bulging muscles burst through the petrified skin, revealing his original form.
He looked at the shocked faces of the girls around him and said smugly, "You lambs of the [First Sea Area] must have already used all your tricks. I have to admit, you’re quite impressive."
"But you need to understand something. I arrived in this sea a full year before you did. That’s a gap you can’t close in just one month."
"If you surrender to me now, I’ll overlook your earlier disrespect. I’ll even allow you to become my concubines and board my fleet."
With that, Draven turned his gaze to Kevin and the unconscious Toti, his eyes turning cold. "As for those two useless men hiding behind you - kill them. If you kill them both, I’ll grant you my favor and let you share my bed."
Draven deliberately arched his back and stuck out his hips, saying proudly, "You should all know that on this terrifying sea, without a strong man to protect you, women are nothing but toys and trade goods. But I can not only protect you - I can also give you the ultimate physical pleasure."
Draven’s words made the girls flush with anger.
Kevin rolled his eyes and stepped forward, placing himself between the girls and Draven. "I originally thought that the [Medusa’s Aegis] didn’t do any damage to you. But I guess it did affect you after all."
"Affect me?" Draven looked at Kevin with confusion. "What affect? A little petrification could never really hurt me."
Kevin pointed at Draven’s head and grinned. "Really? Because I think you got dumber after you broke out of that stone form."
Draven narrowed his eyes and stared hard at Kevin. His voice turned low and dangerous. "You, a man hiding behind women, are asking for death."
With a flick of both hands, Draven sent two boomerangs flying in wide arcs, both aimed straight at Kevin’s neck.
At the last possible moment, Kevin summoned an Attack Helicopter and placed it right in front of him.
The two boomerangs smashed through the helicopter’s windshield, flew into the cockpit, and got stuck in the seats.
Kevin’s eyes glowed blue as he activated his [Mechanical Sovereign] ability. He controlled the Attack Helicopter and lifted it off the deck.
Before Draven could call his boomerangs back, the helicopter dove straight into the sea.
When he saw this, Draven was completely stunned.
"What the hell! You summoned an Attack Helicopter just to steal my boomerangs?" Draven cursed furiously. "You bastard!"
Forgetting about Kevin for a moment, Draven leaped into the sea to retrieve his boomerangs.
But the moment he got close to the helicopter, a blinding red light started flashing in front of him.
As a modern Earthling, Draven knew exactly what that blinking red light meant.
"Damn it. That’s a bomb." Draven silently cursed Kevin for being so shameless.
He quickly climbed into the helicopter’s cockpit and grabbed his two boomerangs.
The red light blinked faster and faster. Draven’s eyes went wide as he tried to crawl out of the helicopter as fast as he could.
But Kevin didn’t give him the chance. He set off the bomb remotely.
A deafening boom echoed across the sea. A wave nearly eight meters high shot up from the surface.
The violent explosion tore the Attack Helicopter into pieces.
Kevin stared at the whirlpool forming on the water, his eyes cold. "Everyone, step back. That guy is probably about to get serious now."
"What do you mean? He wasn’t going all out before?" Celula stared at Kevin, completely shocked.
Kevin nodded and said in a low voice, "If he had been willing to risk getting hurt to fight you earlier, half of you would be dead right now."
The girls immediately stepped back half a pace.
They obediently returned to the helm, but still kept their weapons trained on the deck, ready to support Kevin at any moment.
Suddenly, a splash of water burst up, and Draven leaped out of the sea like a fish.
He was a mess. His skin was mottled red and blue, clearly showing that even his powerful defenses had taken a beating from the explosion just now.
Seeing this, Kevin let out a small sigh of relief.
No wonder Draven was so careful to avoid Celula’s [Molten Edge] earlier. So this guy’s defenses do have a limit.
"You sneaky bastard, I’m going to kill you!" Draven’s face was twisted with rage. He gripped his boomerangs tightly and charged at Kevin, swinging them down.
Kevin didn’t hold back. He immediately downed a bottle of [Thousand-Armed Octopus Holy Spring] and entered his Eight-Arms state.
"Idiot," Kevin said coldly.
With [Molten Edge] in one hand and [Giant’s Grip] in the other, he instantly consumed 15 stamina points and activated [Charged Strike] from [Mantis Fist].
300% critical hit!
A thunderous boom rang out!
Both of Kevin’s weapons slammed into Draven’s boomerangs at the same time.
A massive force traveled up Kevin’s arms and through his body, sending him flying backward. But Draven was also knocked to the ground by Kevin’s explosive power.
Kevin came off slightly worse in this exchange, but Draven was far more shocked. "How do you have so much strength? You’ve only been here a month. How is this possible?"
Kevin used his eight arms to push off the ground, flipped over, and landed steadily without taking any damage from being knocked back.
He didn’t answer Draven’s question. Instead, he raised three ranged weapons-[Elven String], [White Wolf’s Eye], and [Zero Error]-and started firing wildly at Draven.
Because of [Zero Error’s] ability to lock onto spacetime and guarantee a 100% hit, Draven had no choice but to raise his boomerangs to block the sniper rifle bullets.
At that moment, Monchhichi, who had been standing on the helm platform, narrowed his eyes and glared at Draven with a fierce look. "Let’s see how you dodge this one."
Monchhichi raised [Zero Error], adjusted the scope, aimed at Draven, and pulled the trigger.
Hearing this, Amelia immediately raised her own [White Wolf’s Eye] and started spraying bullets in the direction behind Draven.
"Damn it! You’re all ambushing me!" Draven cursed and leaped backward.
He pressed his boomerangs against his chest and barely managed to block two sniper rounds.
As for the bullets from [White Wolf’s Eye], he could only take them on his body.
"They’re just assault rifle bullets. Way weaker than sniper rounds. My defense is more than enough to handle this kind of damage," Draven said confidently.
But Kevin and Amelia both wore the same mocking grin on their faces.
Seeing that, Draven’s heart suddenly sank. But he was already committed to his movement and couldn’t change course.
The two [White Wolf’s Eyes] fired simultaneously, and their bullets struck Draven.
At first, Draven only felt some pain. None of the bullets actually did any real damage.
Draven breathed a sigh of relief. "Good. Just as I thought."
He let the bullets keep hitting him, treating them like nothing more than a few scratches.
But then, two bullets struck his chest one after the other.
A devastating shockwave sent him flying into the air. A terrifying explosion swallowed him nearly whole.
The blast was even more powerful than the rocket Toti had hit him with earlier.
Before the pain could even register, numbness spread throughout Draven’s entire body.
Draven stared in shock at the small mushroom cloud rising into the sky. His mind went blank. "What the hell? Was that a bullet or a missile that hit me?"
Before he could finish his sentence, he was blasted into the sea by the force of the explosion.
Kevin and Amelia looked at each other and smiled.
Obviously, the bullets that had just hit Draven were not normal assault rifle bullets. They were special ammunition enchanted with "Great Fireball."
