Chapter 119: Group Battle Against Lone Wolf
Just as Draven was about to get his head blown off, a clang rang out. The boomerang and the bullet collided mid-air, knocking each other off course.
Draven kept his speed up and leaped onto the deck of the "Daddy" Cannon.
"Ms. Nova, Mr. Kingston wants me to bring you back right now," he said, landing steadily on the deck. By then, the two boomerangs had already returned to his hands.
Nova stared coldly at Draven, hatred written all over her face. "You damn human traffickers deserve to burn in hell. Die!"
As soon as she spoke, Amelia and Monchhichi raised their guns and fired.
Thanks to the [Zero Error] ability that guaranteed a perfect hit, Draven threw out both boomerangs in an instant, blocking the path of the bullets.
A metallic clash rang out, and sparks flew in the air.
Draven used the two boomerangs again to stop another bullet.
But before the boomerangs could return to his hands, Celula had already rushed up to him, holding the [Molten Edge].
Draven dodged the Wheels of Flame & Wind beneath Celula’s feet, then eyed the blade of the [Molten Edge] warily. "Nice sword," he said with admiration.
He kicked upward, landing his foot right on the back of the blade.
Using the momentum, he sprang back like a spring, escaping Celula’s attack range.
Just then, a strong wind rushed in. Raphael swung the [Unicorn Gryphon] and lunged at Draven’s back like a shooting star.
Feeling the sting on his back, Draven praised again: "Good timing."
Without giving Raphael a chance to push the blade deeper into his skin, he spun around and barely dodged the thrust.
Raphael felt a sharp pain in her wrist as a huge force hit her. She stumbled back three steps before steadying herself.
Her wrist trembling, she stared at the faint white scratch on Draven’s back. Her eyes widened. "Is that guy a monster? I can’t even pierce his skin."
Draven grinned, his eyes turning cruel. "Ladies, your dance is over. Now it’s my turn to hunt."
A loud bang followed, and flames burst everywhere.
Several rockets hit Draven, and red flames burst all over his body.
Toti held his pipe in his mouth and snorted. "You son of a bitch, you’re good at dodging, huh? I already knew where you’d land."
Before Toti could finish his sentence, a dark figure suddenly shot out of the flames and charged straight at him.
Toti grinned. "I was waiting for you to come get punched."
His body glowed with black light, and a layer of dark metal covered his entire body. He threw a heavy punch at Draven.
Thud.
Draven was knocked to the ground by the punch.
Lying on the ground, he casually brushed his slightly burnt hair and frowned. "Full body metal Talent? Not bad."
He pushed his hands against the ground and bounced up instantly.
While Toti was still off balance, Draven’s legs clamped around Toti’s right arm.
He twisted his legs like twisting a steel bar, and with a snap, he bent Toti’s arm backward.
Crack! Crack!
A series of sharp sounds rang out as Toti’s fully metal arm was broken by Draven’s legs.
Toti stared at his broken arm in shock. The intense pain hit him, and he lost most of his fighting strength.
"I told you, my hunt has begun. Let’s start with you, old man." Draven flipped over, kicked both feet into Toti’s chest, and sent him flying.
Toti, still covered in metal, flew like a cannonball from the front of the ship to the back, nearly falling into the sea.
The massive force almost knocked Toti unconscious. His metal form was slowly fading.
"Looks like I need one more kick to finish you off." Draven licked his blade and was about to rush at Toti.
"Stop!" Raphael swung the "Unicorn Gryphon" and stabbed straight at Draven’s neck.
This time, she put all her strength into it, aiming for the weakest spot on his neck.
But Draven had already picked up his boomerangs. He swung them easily, using them like two short blades to fight Raphael.
Twin blades against a rapier. Draven moved his boomerangs so fast that Raphael couldn’t find an opening. Instead, she was forced back more than ten steps.
After seeing Draven’s terrifying strength, Raphael didn’t dare let him get close anymore.
Taking advantage of the gap, Monchhichi and Amelia kept firing their guns to harass Draven, but that only bought Raphael a short moment to catch her breath.
Suddenly, a flash of fire lit up the night sky.
Celula raised the [Molten Edge] and kept charging its power. She summoned a giant blade, eight meters long, and swung it straight at Draven.
The blade cut through the air, releasing intense heat that made Draven’s skin turn red.
"You women really have no sense of honor." Draven muttered. He dropped to the ground, rolled, and smoothly dodged Celula’s charged strike.
"Ahhh! I’m so mad! Why does he just take everyone else’s hits but dodge mine?" Celula pouted, looking annoyed.
Raphael moved closer to Celula and said quietly, "It’s probably because your sword can actually hurt him."
Draven stared at Celula and Raphael with a cold smile. "Foolish women. You have no idea what I’m capable of."
As soon as he said that, the two boomerangs in his hands flew out, shooting straight at Raphael and Celula.
Just in time, a powerful telekinetic force came down from above.
The boomerangs slowed down significantly. Raphael and Celula reacted quickly, jumping back to dodge the attack.
But the boomerangs just turned around and flew at them again, picking up speed once more.
"Damn it, are his boomerangs homing missiles?" Celula cursed. She grabbed Raphael and, using her Wheels of Flame & Wind, flew up to the control deck, landing behind Nova.
Nova had already readied the [Medusa’s Aegis].
As the two boomerangs were about to fly past the control deck, Nova swung her shield and slammed it hard into one of them.
Clang.
The boomerang was sent flying high into the air.
Back on the deck, a cut suddenly opened on Draven’s shoulder, and blood started to flow.
Draven reacted quickly. Seeing Nova about to hit the other boomerang with her shield, he raised his hand and called it back just in time.
But after that last exchange, he had learned his lesson. He didn’t dare throw his boomerangs again. Instead, he just stared at Nova with caution.
"Miss Nova, your power is impressive. If Mr. Kingston knew how much you’ve grown, he would be very pleased."
Draven took a potion out of his system backpack and applied it to his wound. The injury caused by the [Medusa’s Aegis] instantly healed.
Seeing this, Nova said coldly, "I’m not saying I won’t go back with you. But I have conditions."
Hearing that, the tension in Draven’s muscles relaxed.
He stepped forward slowly, spreading his hands with a smile. "No problem, Miss Nova. Sky Island is happy to meet your conditions. As long as you come back with me, I-"
Before he could finish, Nova suddenly raised the [Medusa’s Aegis].
The Medusa Rune in the center of the shield began to glow. A pair of hypnotic eyes stared straight at Draven, locking onto his gaze.
In an instant, Draven’s legs stiffened. His arms started to twitch.
Within just a few breaths, his body began to turn to stone.
"You tricked me!" Draven gritted his teeth and let out one last roar before he completely turned into a statue.
Seeing this, Nova finally breathed a sigh of relief.
On the other side, Kevin carried Toti, whose arm was broken, back onto the control deck.
He looked around at the girls, his face serious. "That guy was strong. To kick a fully metalized Toti from the front of the ship to the back, his Strength stat must be at least sixty points."
When the girls heard that Draven’s Strength was over sixty points, their eyes went wide.
Celula’s proud expression instantly fell. "How can there be a Survivor that strong?"
Monchhichi looked up, also shocked. "Isn’t he supposed to be just like us? We’ve only been on this terrifying sea for less than a month. How is he so powerful?"
Then, all eyes turned to Nova.
Nova sighed and explained, "I don’t know the details either. But I do know one thing: we are definitely not the first humans to arrive on this terrifying sea."
After hearing Nova’s explanation, the girls finally understood.
It turned out that when Nova was kidnapped by [The Eye of Tarot] before, she had overheard something about the connection between [The Eye of Tarot] and Sky Island.
Their conversations often carried a sense of superiority. In fact, the contact person from Sky Island often called themselves [pioneers].
When the girls heard the word [pioneers], they all looked shocked and confused.
Then Kevin turned to Eliana. "Were there other Survivors who came to this terrifying sea before us?"
Eliana thought about it for a moment and then nodded. "Of course you’re not the first batch of Survivors. Many groups of Survivors came to this terrifying sea before you."
Hearing this, Kevin frowned. "So where did all those people go? What else do you know?"
Eliana paused to think, then explained, "What do you think is at the end of this sea?"
Everyone looked confused.
Eliana continued, "What I know is limited to this sea. But I can tell you for sure: the end of this sea is a giant whirlpool. It leads to another, even more dangerous sea."
"The Survivors who came to this terrifying sea before you either died, or sooner or later, the Black Curtain would push them into that whirlpool."
"Only after all Survivors have completely left this terrifying sea will the Black Curtain return to its original position and wait for a new group of Survivors to arrive."
