Chapter 92: There’s Still a Backup Plan
Richard kept walking forward, grinning at Kevin. "We just came to see if you needed any help."
Kevin let out a cold snort. "The fight’s over. And now you’re here to help?"
Richard ignored Kevin’s sarcasm and kept striding forward. "Come on, don’t be like that. We meant well. Look, we’re all here now. It’s not too much to ask for a drink of water, is it?"
Raphael walked slowly up to Kevin’s side, staring at Derek and Richard with cold eyes. "Since the battle’s over, everyone should go their own way and rest. Richard, Derek, don’t come any closer. Otherwise, I’ll have reason to believe you’re up to no good."
Just then, Toti also stepped forward, his voice booming like thunder. "You little punks, don’t think I don’t know what’s going on in your heads. Turn around and leave now, and me and Raphael won’t give you any trouble. Otherwise, I’ll spill all the dirty schemes you cooked up back then."
Toti’s voice was like a thunderclap. Richard and Derek stopped in their tracks, their faces full of anger.
Dewayne pointed at Raphael and Toti and started yelling. "Raphael, Toti, you got your own crew killed, and now you’re running to outsiders. Do you really think anyone will believe a word you say?"
But before he could finish, Richard kicked him to the ground. "You idiot! Do you have no brain at all? You just blew it!"
Raphael and Toti exchanged a look, their faces full of disgust.
"You know way too much about what just happened to us. That means you weren’t even paying attention to the fight, were you?" Raphael said coldly.
"Tch, you scumbags, stop hiding. We can see the weapons you’re carrying behind you." Toti spat on the ground, hoisted an RPG launcher onto his shoulder, and aimed it at Richard and Derek. "You two pieces of trash, take your men and leave now, or I’ll blow you all to pieces."
Richard gritted his teeth at first, then exchanged a glance with Derek. The two of them burst out laughing.
"Hahahaha! Old man, stop bluffing. You used up all your ammo back there." Richard held his stomach, his face full of mockery.
Behind him, Derek, Dewayne, and the other captains all put on vicious looks.
Derek waved at the captains behind him. "Since you’ve already figured it out, we might as well drop the act. Everyone, show your weapons!"
With that command, over a dozen RPG launchers were all aimed at the Two-Masted Sloop.
At the same time, more than a dozen Vulcan Cannons were hauled out by the captains, their barrels pointed directly at Kevin and the others standing on the bow of the Two-Masted Sloop.
Richard took a puff from his water pipe, flashing a mouthful of gold teeth. "Hey, kid, the leader. I know you’re the captain of that Two-Masted Sloop. From now on, your ship, your women, and your gear all belong to us."
Celula stood off to the side, and when she heard that, she instantly got angry. "You fat pig, you’re ugly as hell, but you sure dream big! If you want our gear, you’d better have what it takes to take it."
The moment she finished speaking, a golden laser suddenly shot toward Celula.
In the nick of time, Celula quickly activated the shield on her gear.
The laser hit the shield, burned right through it, and left a red scorch mark on Celula’s shoulder.
Celula winced in pain and sucked in a sharp breath.
She pulled open her clothes and saw a red blister forming on her shoulder.
Luna quickly pulled Celula behind her.
She opened a bottle of "Tear of the Goddess" and dripped a few drops onto Celula’s shoulder, which finally eased the pain.
"That was close. If it weren’t for the shield, you’d be dead by now," Luna muttered quietly.
Celula, still full of defiance, clenched her fists and waved them around. "If that shield hadn’t been drained from fighting that scary woman earlier, his little laser wouldn’t have touched me at all."
Derek blew on the tip of his gun.
That laser had come from him.
After seeing that Celula’s invisible shield had been destroyed with a single shot, a look of strong confidence appeared on Derek’s face. "Stop pretending. You’re all spent. That last fight drained almost all of your ammo, energy, and even your Talent abilities. Instead of putting up a pointless fight, you’d be better off surrendering quietly and saving yourselves the pain."
As he said this, Derek licked his lips and stared greedily at the girls behind Kevin.
Kevin narrowed his eyes, and a fierce killing intent radiated from him. "You think you’ve already won?"
"Don’t you think so?" Richard chuckled.
He pulled out a grenade, tossed it in his hand, and said arrogantly, "I’ve got guns. I’ve got bombs. I’ve got rocket launchers. Around here, I’m the one calling the shots now."
"Kid, if you don’t want to die, hand over all your gear and your Eldritch Artifacts. And the girls behind you — come over here and serve me well. If I’m happy, I might just let you live."
Raphael’s heart sank when she heard this.
She gently tugged at Kevin’s sleeve and whispered, "Take everyone and go. Me and Toti will hold them off for at least a minute."
Toti put down his RPG launcher, rolled up his sleeves, and revealed his pitch-black metal arms. "Goddamn these dirty bastards. Captain, you go first. I’ll activate ’Iron Body’ and go down there to smash their heads in."
Raphael and Toti were about to jump off the ship.
But Kevin reached out, grabbed both of them by the collars, and yanked them back.
"Such incredible strength," Toti said, shocked by Kevin’s power. His eyes went wide as he stared at Kevin. "Captain, what are you doing?"
Kevin shook his head and smiled. "No need to risk your lives. A bunch of guys like them? They’re not even enough to fill our teeth."
Raphael was completely dumbfounded. "Captain, what are you talking about? We just sacrificed half of our Sanity, half of our health, and half of our stamina. Almost all of us are out of fighting shape right now."
Nova gently patted Raphael on the shoulder and smiled. "They really aren’t worth worrying about. Definitely not worth you and Toti jumping off the ship to charge at them."
Although Kevin and Nova weren’t speaking loudly, the pirates in the distance could still hear them.
Dewayne spat hard on the ground and said arrogantly, "Who are you trying to fool? You’re about to die and you’re still running your mouths. We’ve got more men than you, we’re in better shape than you, and our weapons are better than yours. What do you even have to fight us with?"
Then Dewayne let out a cold laugh. "Miss Nova, you sure talk big. When you’re serving us later, I’m going to make sure to have some extra fun with you."
Dewayne was about to keep taunting Kevin when suddenly a beam of holy light shot out and pierced straight through the middle of his forehead.
Derek, standing behind Dewayne, stared at the Lance of Longinus stuck in the ground, his lips trembling. "How is that possible? How can you still use that kind of power?"
Derek turned to look at Kevin, only to see that Kevin was already holding a potion bottle in his hand. He had no idea when he’d pulled it out.
Behind Kevin, Amelia, Nova, Luna, Monchhichi, Celula, and the other girls all pulled out identical potion bottles at the same time. Every bottle was already half empty.
They looked at Derek like he was already dead, then raised their bottles and drank down what was left.
In an instant, the weak, drained aura around the girls began to swell rapidly.
Their Sanity, health, and stamina all topped off in a flash. Even the number of times they could use their Talent abilities was restored to full.
Richard felt a wave of danger crashing toward him and shuddered. "How is this possible? What... what did you just drink?"
As he spoke, Richard activated his own Talent ability.
His whole body turned into a stone monster. He stared at Kevin and the others, his face full of caution.
Kevin wiped the corner of his mouth with the back of his hand and said with a light laugh, "Restoration Potion. I’m guessing you’ve never heard of it, have you?"
"Restoration Potion?" Derek hid behind Richard, staring at Kevin in terror. His eyes were locked onto the empty bottle in Kevin’s hand. "Restoration Potion... a C-Tier magic potion. You all have one each?"
Nova rolled her eyes and sneered. "What’s the big deal? These things are just everyday supplies for us."
Derek shook with rage when he heard that. "So the weak, exhausted act you put on during the fight... that was all fake?"
Kevin shook his head. "No, that’s not it. It’s just that we have enough backup plans."
Luna smiled and explained, "Honestly, we didn’t want to waste these Restoration Potions. If we mixed them together, we could have gotten at least three full bottles. But since you idiots insisted on coming here to die, we figured we’d show you what a real gap in power looks like."
Richard realized he had made a fatal mistake. He clenched his teeth in anger. "Damn it! I’ll take you all down with me! I don’t believe eight of you can kill all twenty-something of us. Boys, let’s rush them together!"
All the captains pulled their triggers at the same time.

For a moment, the beach was filled with the sound of triggers being pulled — but not a single artillery shell or bullet came out of any of the guns.
The captains all stared in shock. Even Richard and Derek’s eyes went wide with disbelief.
Derek grabbed an RPG launcher from the captain next to him and pulled the trigger over and over. Nothing fired. He started to panic. "How is this possible? Why won’t any of these weapons fire? We tested them just a few hours ago!"
Richard refused to give up either.
He grabbed a Vulcan Cannon, aimed it, and pulled the trigger. But the cannon just spun around like a toy, without firing a single bullet.
Furious, Richard threw the Vulcan Cannon to the ground and stomped on it. "Screw this! This is impossible!"
