"Hahaha! The cops?" He stepped closer and said in a mocking voice. "Do you think they are going to magically come save you?"
Lily bowed her head and didn’t answer, looking self defeated and accepting fate, but her fingers quietly gathered a small amount of sand from the ground. It looked like her real plan was to use the dust to temporarily blind the attackers and get away with Jessica as quickly as possible.
But unfortunately for her, one of the men who had been cautiously watching them suddenly noticed what she was doing.
"Hey!" His eyes narrowed. "What do you think you’re doing? Trying to get away from us, huh?"
Lily’s expression changed. She knew she had been caught red handed by one of them. Now her only chance to escape had vanished like the wind. There was no way she could even dream of handling five imposing men.
The man raised his leg and cursed out loud.
"You little..."
He swung his foot toward her, aiming to teach the girl a lesson for daring to escape. But before the fierce kick could connect, a tall figure suddenly appeared directly in front of Lily and her friend with a calm expression on his handsome face.
Yet the moment he arrived, the atmosphere visibly changed. Quite literally and figuratively.
Because an unnatural chill swept through the alley as the temperature rapidly plummeted down. Within seconds, every breath the shocked people exhaled became visible as white mist.
Alex held the man’s leg with one hand and with a light squeeze as if crushing paper, Alex casually crushed the man’s bone. Before the guy could register the pain and scream out, Alex moved his leg and struck the man on the stomach.
The force behind that casual kick without much effort on his part was so terrifying, that the man’s body shot backward like a missile. He flew through the air for dozens of meters before crashing violently into the ground.
Blood sprayed out from his mouth as his body rolled several times before finally becoming completely still, making the other remaining four men freeze in their tracks.
There was complete silence as they all stared at the body before shifting their gaze back to the handsome man who had just delivered that attack without much effort. The more they stared, the more they looked at Alex as if he were the devil himself.
Alex didn’t even look at them, after all they were all going to get their own shares. Besides the first man wasn’t dead, he was just unconscious.
He turned around and spotted Lily who was still standing there with her eyes tightly shut, and her arms raised defensively over her delicate face.
It was clear to anyone that she was still bracing herself for the impact that had never and would never come.
Alex’s expression softened and the cold temperature receded as he asked,
"Are you alright?"
Lily slowly lowered her arms and then opened her bright grey eyes. The moment she saw who he was, her expression froze. For what felt like several seconds, she simply stared at Alex.
The handsome young man standing in front of her looked completely different from the image she had secretly created in her mind.
He was not just more handsome than before if that was even possible, or maybe it was just her mind playing tricks on her, but he had saved her once again. With both times being in her most desperate times.
Lily’s face slowly turned bright red and she hurriedly said in an inaudible voice.
"Y-yes I’m fine."
Alex raised an eyebrow.
"Hmm?"
"I’m fine!" Lily quickly nodded, making Alex smile with amusement.

Just as he was about to continue asking something else, a sweet girlish voice suddenly came from the side.
"Wait a minute..."
Alex turned, fully exposing his face. Lily’s friend who was still rubbing her cheeks looked between Alex and Lily before giving a knowing grin to Lily.
"Sooooo, is this the mystery guy you’ve been crushing on all this while?"
Lily’s entire face instantly became crimson.
"W-what are you talking about, Jessica?!
Her friend continued staring at Alex, before clicking her tongue in approval.
"Wow." She looked at Lily. "I must say he really is a sweet piece of cake. He is definitely way more handsome than anyone I’ve ever seen in my entire life, and he even knows how to fight. Well he’s a real keeper."
Alex nearly choked on his spit. Since when were high school girls this bold?
Lily immediately slapped her small palm over her friend’s mouth, and hurriedly spoke.
"Stop talking nonsense you crazy girl!"
"Mmph! Mmmph...!"
"Don’t say things like that!"
All Alex could do was just to stand there awkwardly. Then his ears picked faint sounds, and slowly turned his eyes toward the four remaining thugs who were all tiptoeing.
All trying to secretly escape while they thought his attention was still on the two young girls. Alex’s face changed and a faint dangerous smile appeared on his face.
"Oh. Escaping are we?"
The four men froze, with one of them even wetting his pants from fear. None of them wanted to end up in the same state as their friend. Alex took a step forward, making them take a step back as he asked.
"Where do you think you all are going to?"
One of them immediately turned around and ran, Alex gave him hope that he could escape before running so fast he left an after image in his stead, and appeared in front of the fleeing man.
"AAARGH!" A loud painful scream echoed through the valley. The man’s arm was twisted behind his back. With a slight movement the sickening sound of bones snapping echoed.
Alex immediately moved toward the next man, who was pleading profusely.
"Wait! Please let’s talk about this!"
Crack! The man received his own share. Then another scream. The third man even though he knew it was futile tried to fight back.
Alex casually dodged his punch which looked as slow as hell before lightly striking him in the ribs, shattering his entire ribcage and sending him flying backward before crashing heavily against the wall.
Alex wasn’t even angry anymore if not they would have all turned to blood mist. He was simply making sure none of them would ever think about kidnapping another innocent girl again.
Soon, all four men were lying on the ground, with every single one of them having at least one broken arm.
Alex turned toward the now frightened Lily and asked in the softest voice he could muster.
"Which one of them hit your friend? Tell me and I’ll deal with him?"
Lily blinked.
"That one." She said, pointing toward the man who had slapped her friend. Alex narrowed his eyes and walked over. The thug immediately began trembling.
"W-wait... Please!"
Crack! The sound of his second arm breaking rang out before a loud pig like scream that sent a chill through everyone’s spine. After he was done Alex simply turned away and said.
"Now we’re done."
Lily stared at him with both fear and awe. She had never seen anything like this before. When he was at the hospital he looked so gentle but now, when fighting against these thugs he seemed like an entirely different person.
Alex suddenly looked at her.
"I think it’s best I get both of you to a hospital. Most especially your friend."
"Oh my name is Jessica, handsome. But we’re fine."
Alex looked at her injured cheek.
"Nonsense. You’re bleeding."
She touched her lips.
"Oh."
Alex rubbed his head and sighed
"Come on, let’s go. I won’t hear anything about it."

A short while later, Alex’s Lamborghini pulled up outside the hospital, drawing the attention of most people there due to its eye-catching design and the obvious fact that it was a luxury car.
Lily and her friend sat in the back seat. Alex stepped out and opened the door for them.
"Let’s get you both checked properly. Especially you." He said pointing at Jessica.
The both girls nodded. Lily stepped out first with her eyes secretly following Alex. She had spent so much time wondering about the man who had once saved her and given her a second chance at life.
And somehow, after today, her crush had only gotten worse.
Alex was just about to close the car door when a chime rang in his head.

Alex looked at Lily before giving a small sigh. He turned away and just as he was about to walk forward, something suddenly caught his attention.

It was Nyx. And she looked as beautiful and intimidating as ever. Everyone at the hospital even stopped what they were doing just to stare at her, with them all admiring how someone could be this beautiful. Behind her came Doris! And Jade.
