Chapter 212

Alex’s body soon quickly disappeared, making the two brothers both baffled and alert at the same time.

"What? Where the hell did this little punk just go?" the bald man bellowed.

"How am I supposed to know that? Just stay at alert, I feel like he might be launching another sneak attack with that annoying teleportation ability of his."

Meanwhile, Alex reappeared inside the estate, and quickly moved through the damaged corridors, relying on his speed to locate the kitchen. A couple of seconds later, he finally found where it was, and searched the entire area until his eyes landed on a large water gallon attached to a dispenser.

Bingo! Just what he needed. Alex grabbed it and stored the entire thing inside his Spatial Storage Space. Then he used Void Step and vanished once more.

Outside, the brothers were still waiting for him. It had even reached a point where they were beginning to consider that maybe he might have ran away. That was when Alex suddenly appeared several meters away.

"There!" the blonde man shouted.

The bald man wasted no time in attacking after seeing the familiar figure he hated with passion appear. His fist quickly grew as large as those old black and white TV from the good old days, and swung straight for Alex’s position.

Alex ran forward, rotating his body precisely around the large sandy hand on his way, and continued pushing forward with a cold glint hidden deep inside his green eyes which were obscured by his ominous mask.

The burly man grew furious and made several hands, all ten meters long, from the sand to spring up around Alex’s path and grab him. With his speed, Alex was able to effortlessly weave through the attack, and reached the burly man.

Butcher didn’t look angry by the fact that Alex had just dodged his attacks and was already close to him. In fact he even gave a smug smile, knowing that no matter what attack was thrown at him it would all fail at the end, and he’d finally be able to perform a close quarters attack before the little punk even gets a second to think of running away.

But unfortunately for him, he was in for one hell of a surprise. Alex quickly summoned the large water gallon directly into his hands, and before the sand man could react, Alex tore open the container and dumped the entire water directly over his body.

The burly man looked at Alex in shock as his body suddenly became soggy. He could feel as the sand that had previously moved freely became heavy and clumped together, causing his movements to slow dramatically.

Alex’s eyes gleamed beneath the dark mesh of his mask and said in a cold voice that made the burly man instinctively tremble for some reason he couldn’t name.

"Got you."

"Butcher turn back to normal..." Before the blonde man could finish, Alex placed his palm directly against the man and activated his Celestial Thunder ability.

Dark-blue lightning erupted from his hand and tore through the sand man’s body, bathing him in violent blue arcs of electricity that shone with a brilliant radiance.

The pain the burly man felt was so excruciating that the roar he made echoed across the estate like that of a wounded animal. It was a pain that one felt not only in the skin but in the bones and every cell in the body.

It finally reached a point that he could no longer maintain his sand form and turned back to normal, but the pain didn’t seize in the least. If anything it grew even stronger. To make matters worse, the insanely high heat from the lightning attack was beginning to char his body.

Alex watched the dying man with no mercy in his eyes. Just as he was about to increase the Celestial lightning so that he could wrap things up quickly and go focus on the other brother, that was when an excruciating pain worse than anything he had ever felt exploded within his body.

It felt as though every drop of blood inside his body had suddenly become tiny shards piercing through his internal organs. The pain was truly on a whole other level so much so that Alex writhed violently and instinctively pushed himself backward.

What the hell...? Cold beads of sweat formed across his forehead and soaked his clothes as he forced himself to look up toward the blonde man, whose expression had completely changed by now.

His previously normal eyes had transformed into a horrifying blood red, with no pupils remaining in them. And paired with that was a creepy smile that made him look like some sort of evil creature straight out of a horror movie.

This damn bastard’s ability is really crazy. Forcing himself to endure the pain, Alex narrowed his eyes behind the ominous skull mask.

"So that’s your own ability...? You can manipulate your opponent’s blood."

The blonde man’s smile widened, and the blood-red glow in his pupil-less eyes seemed to become even more sinister as he said in a twisted tone

"I hope you like it, because I will make sure you die a painful death for killing my third brother and almost killing my second brother."

Alex’s body involuntarily trembled as another wave of agony ripped through him, but instead of showing fear, he let out a low chuckle that sounded strangely amused from behind the skull mask.

"Such big claims coming from you," Alex said through the pain. "Do you have any idea how many people have tried to kill me? And here you are, standing there and thinking you can actually kill me."

The blonde man’s expression twitched with annoyance as his fingers slowly curled into a fist. Alex suddenly felt the pressure inside his body increase.

It was as though an invisible hand had reached into his veins and was squeezing every drop of blood at once. His organs seemed to twist beneath the pressure, while his heart struggled against the force surrounding it.

A deep groan escaped his throat as his knees nearly buckled. The blonde man on the other hand watched the entire thing with satisfaction.

"Let’s see how long that confidence lasts."

Alex gritted his teeth as another surge of pain spread through his body. His muscles tightened involuntarily, and cold sweat rolled down his forehead beneath the mask.

Enough. He had already learned what he wanted from these two.

Their physical strength, speed, coordination and abilities had given him a decent opportunity to test his own body, but there was no reason to continue enduring this annoying pain anymore.

Alex’s eyes suddenly glowed with a faint purple light behind the dark mesh. And the moment he activated Eye of Chronos second ability, the world around him became incredibly slow, as if someone had just broken time itself.

He watched as the blonde man’s fingers moved as though they were trapped inside thick syrup, and the dust floating through the air seemed almost motionless. More importantly, the crushing sensation inside his body weakened dramatically, after all time itself had been slowed down by forty times.

The blood manipulation ability was still active, but its effects were now operating within a world that had been slowed to a fraction of its original speed. The pressure that had nearly made him collapse became nothing more than a little unpleasant discomfort. Nothing he couldn’t shrug off for now.

Alex let out a small breath and straightened his back, before walking toward the blonde haired guy. This man’s ability would have been really fatal for him if he didn’t have the Eye of Chronos ability or Void Step. It was time to teach him a lesson for the pain he just made him go through.

Alex first stared at the sinister looking bastard, before plunging his right hand straight into the man’s lower abdomen and closed around something hard and cold.

There it is. Just what he was looking for. He then grasped the primordial core more firmly and pulled out a transparent crystal core that glowed with an intense radiance as potent primordial essence swirled inside it like a miniature storm.

Alex glanced at it briefly. Before casually storing the primordial core inside his Spatial Storage Space, and thereafter, turning toward the other brother.

The burly man was still lying several meters away. His body had truly suffered tremendous damage from the Celestial Thunder, with smoke slowly rising, at a snail speed, from portions of his burned skin.

Alex walked toward him without hurry. After reaching where he was, he crouched beside the injured man and drove his hand deep into the man’s abdomen.

Alex’s fingers searched through the man’s body until they found the familiar crystalline core he was looking for.

Got it. He pulled his hand back, bringing another crystal-clear primordial core with him.

The second core radiated a powerful primordial essence, identical to the first. But while the first gave off this blood red energy, this present one had a brilliant yellow type of energy.

Alex stared at it before storing it alongside the other. Two Ascendant Realm primordial cores. I wonder how much these two are going to sell for.

Considering what Celine had told him earlier, these two were probably worth a ridiculous amount of money.

Not bad. Alex had originally come here to help Celine deal with Marcus, but he certainly wasn’t going to complain about walking away with two extremely valuable trophies.

He glanced at the two brothers, stretched his body before deactivating his Eye of Chronos ability, causing time to instantly return back to normal once more. The second he did that, the blonde haired man’s movement went back to normal speed as he continued clenching his fists.

But then he stopped. He felt something very wrong with his body. It was kind of strange, because he could no longer feel any sort of connection to his primordial essence any more. And worse still, there was this strange hollowness he could name, in his abdomen as if he had just lost something important...
