Chapter 70: Truth About Cai Shu-1
In front of Ni Mengxue, an elf-like spirit suddenly appeared.
It was small, almost twice the size of her palm, with a dwarf-like body. It wore green clothes and a green hat, making it look like a miniature version of Santa Claus who had somehow been dyed green.
Ni Mengxue unconsciously murmured, "Why does he look like a small Christmas Santa in a green version?"
The spirit’s face immediately darkened. "How dare you compare me to some ridiculous Santa?! Show some respect! Otherwise, I won’t farm for you!"
Ni Mengxue snorted. "Whether you want to or not, you have to listen to me because of the binding with the system."
The spirit became even more furious. "I can self-destruct if you push me to the edge!"
Ni Mengxue rolled her eyes. "I’m not interested in that. I’m more interested in knowing why you kicked my husband out."
The spirit snorted coldly. "You’re too gullible. Did you ever consider that he might betray you?"
Ni Mengxue calmly replied, "I believe my husband isn’t that kind of person."
The spirit scoffed. "Do you know the hidden rule about the Spiritual Space?"
Those words immediately caught Ni Mengxue’s attention. She looked at the spirit seriously.
The spirit continued, "As long as someone successfully betrays you and kills you in the heart of the Spiritual Space, right at its center, the Spiritual Space will belong to that person, while you will turn into a spirit."
Ni Mengxue blinked. "Really?"
Her heart was filled with various possibilities at that moment. A good space like a spiritual space has such a rule? It was strange.
She stared at the little spirit for a moment before suddenly asking, "Was this the reason you became a spirit in the first place? Did you own this Spiritual Space before?"
Her curiosity grew rapidly. The Spiritual Space that she had always thought was something unique to her had clearly belonged to other people before her.
And if what the spirit said was true, then there was far more to this space than she had originally imagined. For the first time, Ni Mengxue felt genuinely that she couldn’t figure things out.
The spirit, however, smiled smugly. "No. I’m not foolish like you."
Ni Mengxue narrowed her eyes. She noticed something strange.
The spirit seemed to be deliberately avoiding the question of how it had appeared inside the Spiritual Space in the first place. There was clearly a secret there.
However, Ni Mengxue truly didn’t have time to argue with it. "Stop interfering. I know what I’m doing."
Her voice wasn’t arrogant. She genuinely believed in her own judgment.
At present, the only things capable of fighting her were zombies above Level Five and superpowered individuals above Level Seven.
Unless she encountered someone far stronger than that, she had enough confidence to protect herself. The spirit stared at her for a long moment before finally nodding.
"Then do whatever you wish. I only hope you won’t regret it."
Its body slowly began to dissolve. Ni Mengxue suddenly remembered something and stopped it. "Wait."
The spirit paused.
"You use your power to make the vegetables grow. Is there any possibility that you can also grow the herbs and fruits from the outside world?"
She had already tried doing it herself before, but she had failed. Especially when she wanted to mass-produce leveling up potion but she couldn’t because of a lack of ability fruit.
However, this spirit clearly possessed the ability to control the growth of plants. Perhaps it could help her. The spirit nodded.
"Oh, I almost thought you were some kind of invincible human who could do everything on your own. So why are you trying to seek help from a humble spirit like me?"
Ni Mengxue simply stared at him.
Her expression clearly said, ’Can you just give me an answer after you’re done with your dramatic speech?’
The spirit was speechless for a moment. "I can’t."
"Why?"
"The current level of this farm is too low."
Ni Mengxue nodded thoughtfully. "So I only need to upgrade the farm."
"Yes."
The spirit nodded, then added with a hint of disdain in his voice, "But it’s not as easy as you think."
"How troublesome."
"Anyways, I’m done here."
The spirit began dissolving again. Ni Mengxue hurriedly stopped him. "At least tell me your name."
The spirit paused, then, with an arrogant expression, he said, "You are not worthy to know it."
With that, his body completely dissolved. Ni Mengxue stood there for several seconds. "What a temperamental spirit."
She shook her head before leaving the Spiritual Space.
The moment she returned to the RV, she found Lu Yucai staring blankly at the empty space where she had disappeared.
As soon as Ni Mengxue appeared, he immediately turned toward her. He quickly checked her from head to toe before asking worriedly, "Are you okay?"
Ni Mengxue shook her head. "You’re overthinking things."
She reached out and gently tapped him before saying, "Alright, let’s go in again."
However, Lu Yucai shook his head. "No need. Let’s wait until we reach your destination."
Ni Mengxue paused. Looking at his eyes, which were filled with undisguised worry, she smiled and leaned forward, giving him a light peck on the lips to reassure him.
It was clear that he was worried that the space would punish her.
Before she could say anything, however... Boom! The moving RV suddenly shook violently.
A loud, grumbling crash came from outside, as if someone had deliberately rammed their vehicle. Ni Mengxue frowned and immediately looked out the window.
Sure enough, a truck was deliberately trying to ram into their RV. Her expression darkened. Who was this arrogant fellow who didn’t want his life anymore?
She was just about to leave when she heard Lu Yucai’s voice. "Cai Shu."
The moment he said that name, Ni Mengxue’s eyes turned cold. Lu Yucai stared at the approaching truck, confusion filling his face.
"Suddenly... I don’t know why, but I keep feeling that woman doesn’t want me to live."
