Chapter 359 - 357:On to the next.
A profound hush fell upon the entire place as people just stared in utter dumbfoundment at the bloody stain on the floor.
What was once a vibrant and active veyr. A respected Law Integration expert, reduced to nothing but a mere stain on the floor.
"Now, then. Guild master. I believe we have some talking to get done." My words successfully roused the petrified guild master from his shock.
"This.. you.. how.." the man stumbled on his on own words.
"I don’t have time to explain shit old man. Let’s just get this thing over with. I don’t got all day." I waved away his concerns.
"This...."
"What? Don’t tell me you want to avenge that guy? Let me warn your right now, I don’t give second chances. If you step out, you get put down... permanently."
...
...
After a few moments of silence, he took a deep breath, steadying himself.
"I.. apologize for my earlier remarks. Please, dear guests, this way. We can continue this conversation in my office." He offered.
"Good choice." I smiled. Glad that I wasn’t forced to deal with a brain dead guild master that was too proud for his own good.
"After you, guild master." I gave a subtle head nod to the man.
"Alright then." He turned, then headed into the building.
"See, old man. What did I tell you? I’m a very persuasive person." I laughed as I passed by the still frozen figure of the old horned abyss walker.
"Move it. You’re delaying my lord." I could hear shulvan’s grumpy voice urging the old abyss walker on.
Together, me at the front with them two steps behind, we made our way into the guild building, straight towards the very top where the guild master’s office was located.
...
...
"Pardon me if I seem rude. But I have to know. We’re you truly the one that caused all.. that?" The guild master asked after we made ourselves comfortable in his office.
I didn’t need to ask to know what he was talking about.
"Yes, I did. I was just interested in a little fight, but that big guy was quite fun so I decided to give him some special treatment." I shrugged off in reply.
"This... if this is truly the case, then I’m afraid even I myself aren’t qualified to judge such a feat." The man shook his head.
"That’s what he said." I pointed to the old abyss walker.
"Corvak?" The man shifted his gaze to the old abyss walker.
"Yes. Guild master Maersk. I have already given him the rough rundown, but I had also come up with an alternative."
"And what would that be?"
"I just thought that you, guild master, could assign him a temporary High Marshal status, pending his arrival to a new city more qualified to assess such a situation." The man spoke up.
"Hmmm... that... is indeed within my scope of capabilities." The guild master nodded.
"But, I have to tell you. A feat of such caliber, by my estimate is worthy of atleast the Rift Lord rank. I dare say, just based off of your mortal rank status, you might even qualify or half qualify for a coveted Abyss sovereign rank."
"Sweet. So, let’s get this over with then shall we?"
"Alright, dear guest."
"Corvak. Call me Cardesa."
....
....
"Here you... here you go.. lord absolute." The pretty missions attendant handed me my new card with shaky hands.
"Heh! Pretty lady, what did I tell you? I’m more than capable." I couldn’t help but laugh at her nervousness.
"Alright, lord absolute. I hope it’s to your satisfaction?" The guild master had also, at some point, changed his form of addressing me.
"It will do, for now." I nodded my head.
"Now. This more qualified branch you guys keep talking about, how do I get to one?" I asked the most important question on my mind.
I wasn’t about to slow down. I needed to see how fast I can get that Abyss Monarch title.
"I knew you would ask.. but, I’d advice holding off your movements until a few days later." The guild master answered.
"Hmmm? Why? I believe the sooner I get there the faster I can solve my dilemma and continue ranking up."
"Naturally, that is so. But, the thing is, the abyss’s cycle will be resetting soon, and during those times, there’ll be what we natives call Abyssal Storms."
"Abyssal storms? Reset? What are you talking about?" I asked.
"My lord, it’s like this.." shulvan picked up the conversation from the guild master.
"The time within the abyss and the outside does not flow at the same speed."
"Wait.. you mean.."
"Yes my lord. Time within the abyss can sometimes move faster than the outside, or slower, but they’re never truly aligned. Hence what we call a reset is when one cycle ends and another begins."
"So, what cycle are we in now? Just how much time has passed in the outside world?" I asked.
"This..." shulvan seemed stumped as he turned towards the guild master and corvak.
"Answering lord absolute. We’re currently in the Slow cycle. Time should move slower here than the outside world."
"How slow?"
"A day here should equal ten days on the outside, give or take."
"Fuck!" I couldn’t help cussing out loud.
"You mean to tell me I’ve been here over ten days already?"
"My lord.. don’t tell me you didn’t know?" Shulvan asked. Surprised.
SLAP!!
"Ahhhhh!!!!!"
"You little fucker! Of course I didn’t know. This is my first time in the abyss. If I knew I was wasting this much time, I would’ve speed run this entire shit in half the time I did." I glared at the bastard currently caressing a swelling cheek.
"Wait... lord absolute.. did you just say it’s your first time in the abyss?" The guild master hadn’t even finished blinking before my palm met his face.
SLAP!!
BANG!
A slap sent the fucker crashing into the walls of his office.
"Goddamn if I have to repeat myself you motherfucker."
"Sor... sorry. I.. was just a bit shocked that you could’ve already done all this before a day was even over despite it being your first day in the abyss." The man struggled up, cheek swollen.
"Well, no shit." I scoffed.
"Alright then. There’s no time to waste. We’re getting out of this shit hole as soon as possible."
"My lord. Please reconsider. The abyssal storms are not things one survives just by being strong." The old abyss walker tried to dissuade me.
"I don’t care. Just tell me where is most likely to have a branch qualified to solve my problem."
"The cities deeper within the outer fringes should be capable of doing so. But, it’ll take an incredible amount of time to get there alone. The storms will definitely get to you."
"Good. I guess you’re coming with us then. Since it’s obvious shulvan here doesn’t know the way."
"I’m sorry my lord." Shulvan bowed in apology.
"Ehh? Me?" The old abyss walker pointed to himself.
"Did I stutter?"
"But.. lord absolute. The abyssal storms. I’ll die."
"Storms?" I scoffed.
"With me here, the abyss itself can only lower its head. Let’s see which storm is foolish enough to stand in my way."
"Ehh?"
...
...
"Lord... lord absolute.. can we please reconsider?" The old abyss walker trembled in fright as we stood on the high city walls, getting ready to depart.
"No! I’ve already gotten everything I can from this place. I’m not wasting another second here."
"But.. but..."
"Shulvan. Prepare yourself."
At my orders, a crimson light flared over shulvan’s body as his butler attire burned off and his huge 8ft frame dressed in a hood forged from the pure essence of entropy itself appeared like an omen.
"Damn.. I think I made you look a bit too cool. How dare you compete with me in awesomeness?"
"I’m sorry my lord." He bowed apologetically.
"Haa.. never mind. Let’s get going. Daylight is wasting." There was no concept of daylight in this godforsaken place, but the words felt right either way.
So, I spread out my wings. Wrapped my aura around the still shaking abyss walker in my grasp, before..
WOOOOOSHHH!!!
I took to the skies. My next destination, Sathi’Can. The city of ages. A city under the rule of Ethos, the eternal. One of the Three emperors of the outer fringes, and also the oldest and arguably most powerful of the three.
"Heh! Let’s see what you’ve got for me, O City of the Ages."

A/N: And we’re off to the next city. This city was a short one. Let’s see how the next one is.
But anyways...
