Emilia’s POV

For a few minutes, nothing happened. I finished my shower, dried off, and wrapped myself in a towel. Maybe the whole thing was a placebo. Maybe Mila had been conned by some scammer selling sugar pills to desperate wolf mothers.

Then the heat hit me.

It started as a pleasant warmth in my lower belly, but within seconds it had spread through my entire body. My skin felt oversensitive, every nerve ending suddenly wide awake and begging for attention.

When I came out, Sebastian was lying lazily on the bed watching TV.

I walked over to him shyly and said, "I want to read for a while."

He paused for a second, then nodded. "Okay."

After moving to the master bedroom, the smaller room had become my study. I opened the door, opened the laptop on the desk, and quickly typed in the name of the pill.

I was shocked.

According to the information on screen, this wasn’t just a fertility supplement with "pleasant side effects."

This was an ancient formula, historically used by kings who wanted to... enhance their performance and stamina. When taken by women, it supposedly increased sensitivity and desire to an almost overwhelming degree.

I looked at myself in the mirror. My cheeks were flushed, my eyes dilated, and I was breathing faster than normal.

"Emilia?" Sebastian’s voice came through. "Are you okay in there?"

"Fine!" I squeaked. "Totally fine! Just very busy! Lots of important work!"

"You’re not working. Your computer hasn’t made a sound since you shut the door."

Damn his wolf hearing.

The door opened, and Sebastian stood in the doorway looking concerned. "What’s going on?"

"Nothing. I just remembered I need to talk to Mila about something."

Was there an antidote? Yes, there had to be. Since the pill wasn’t doing what it was supposed to do, I needed to get an antidote from Mila as fast as possible.

I rushed out of the room and went straight to Mila’s bedroom door. I knocked softly. "Mom, Mom, come out for a minute."

Mila opened the door with a confused look. "What’s going on?"

I pulled Mila aside and whispered, "Is there an antidote?"

"What do you mean?"

Mila didn’t quite understand what I was saying.

"I took the pill..."

"Well, that’s good. It doesn’t matter who takes it."

"But..." I was a little embarrassed. "But... I regret it. Do you have an antidote?"

"Yes. My son is the antidote."

Mila covered her mouth and giggled, and I wanted to find a hole in the ground and crawl into it. I stamped my foot in frustration. "I must be out of my mind to have taken that pill."

I went back to the room and found Sebastian wasn’t on the bed. Just as I was wondering where he’d gone, I saw the study door was open.

My heart jumped. I ran over immediately. Sure enough, Sebastian was sitting at my desk, looking at the webpage I’d forgotten to close.

I was done for. I might as well kill myself. I rushed forward and used my body to block the laptop screen. "Don’t look."

Sebastian looked at me and teased, "I really didn’t know you were into pills like this."

"I’m not..."

I wanted to cry but couldn’t. I also knew my explanation wouldn’t hold up. The facts were right there in front of him. I had nothing to say.

What was worse, I could feel my whole body burning up, and I badly wanted to be loved.

The heat was getting stronger. I didn’t dare look at the man in front of me anymore. I pushed him away and said, "I’m sleeping in my own room tonight. Good night."

Sebastian was pushed out the door, but he reached out and grabbed my arm. With just a little pull, he had me back in his arms, his long fingers stroking my cheek.

"Did you take that pill?"

I froze.

My face went red, then pale. My dry lips trembled. "No... no... no..."

"If you didn’t take it, why is your body so hot and your face so red?"

My legs went weak. I fell into his arms.

It wasn’t because the pill was too strong. It was because his words made me so embarrassed I couldn’t stand up straight.

"Sebastian," I said, my voice shaking. "I need you to leave. Please. I can’t... I don’t want to lose control."

"What if I don’t want to leave?" His thumb brushed my lower lip. "What if I want to help you through this?"

"You don’t understand. The effects are apparently stronger with mates. If you stay, I’m going to..."

"Going to what?" He leaned in closer. "Tell me, Emilia. What are you going to do?"

The last bit of my control snapped.

I grabbed his face and kissed him hard, pressing my body against his. He made a surprised sound that quickly turned into a groan, his arms coming around me to pull me closer.

"Bed," I gasped against his mouth. "Now."

"So demanding," he murmured, but he was already lifting me, carrying me out of the study and into our bedroom.

He laid me down on the bed, and I immediately pulled him down with me, my hands running over the hard muscles of his chest. Everything felt stronger. The slide of skin against skin, the heat of his mouth on mine, the way his hands moved over my body like he was memorizing every inch.

"Is this okay?" he asked, pulling back slightly.

"If you stop now, I will kill you," I told him. "I took this stupid pill, I’m suffering through these ridiculous effects, and you’re going to help me whether you like it or not."

He laughed, the sound low and warm. "Oh, I like it. Trust me."

His mouth found the sensitive spot below my ear, and I gasped. "The bandage... watch out for my collarbone..."

"I know," he murmured, pressing gentle kisses around the cut. "I’ll be careful."

Time seemed to lose meaning after that. Every touch felt like fire, every kiss set me on fire. Sebastian seemed determined to know every inch of me, his hands and mouth driving me to the edge over and over again.

"Please," I finally begged, unable to take any more teasing. "Sebastian, please..."
