Chapter 119: THE PACK OF WOLF
Some of the warriors tried to distract the police by luring them in a different direction while in their wolf forms. However, this wouldn’t last long.
And now, all the warriors went at each other’s throats. Caspian was there with thirty warriors, while their opponent doubled in number.
[Get out of here, Jeremy!] Caspian told his son, because he knew if this got ugly, they might not come out of here alive.
[No. I am not going anywhere. I stay!] Jeremy was stubborn. He wouldn’t leave this place, leaving behind his father and brother to fight. If he had to go down, he was going down with them.
He was young and impulsive, brave, but reckless nonetheless.
Soon enough, blood splattered on the concrete floor and on the unfinished wall, everywhere, to the point the air was thick with the coppery scent of blood.
With the fight that broke out and their side being outnumbered, Ace and Zephyr had no choice but to move away from Zade.
The backup for them was too far; they would be here in twenty minutes, but it would be too late. The Iron Fangs Pack was one of the packs that rebelled, and their alpha had mobilized most of his warriors to the event last night; therefore, not many warriors were left here.
Even if there were some warriors, their loyalty was still questionable, and losing their alpha, beta, and gamma at the same time put them in disarray.
Hence, they couldn’t get the backup from this pack.
Meanwhile, Zade fought the other two Lycan kings. It was a fierce battle, where they didn’t hold back with their attack. The move was meant to kill, and it was obvious from the murderous intention that came from the three Lycan kings.
Zade’s beast was black. Altair had grey fur, while Asher’s fur was a delicate white. Asher’s beast was the smallest among the three, but he was the fastest, and he managed to claw the side of Zade’s stomach. Blood spilled on the concrete.
Seeing that, Altair didn’t miss the chance; he rammed Zade against the wall so hard that it caused a dent on the surface.
Yet, under the full influence of his beast, Zade’s feral instinct kicked in; he was stronger than the other two Lycans, which made him even more dangerous, since nothing was holding him back, as his human conscience was buried so deep in the back of his mind.
The black beast didn’t waste a minute before he attacked the white one and clawed his face, leaving four clear claw marks that crossed his eyes, which blinded him for a while.
Because of that, Asher had to take a step back, and Altair lunged toward Zade, knocked him down to the ground, and clawed his neck. It was a dangerous attack, and if Altair could get him deeper than that, Zade could have died.
However, the black wolf shook him off in the nick of time and managed to escape the fatal wound.
This time, they moved back, putting some distance between them as they snarled viciously against each other and tried to find an opening to attack.
Both of them were injured, but as a Lycan, their healing ability was even faster than the werewolf’s. And soon enough, Asher was back on his feet and ready for another round.
Some of their wounds had healed, which meant, if you wanted to kill a Lycan, you had to do it quickly and precisely.
Altair and Asher looked as if they were planning how to kill Zade through the mindlink. But before they could make a move, all of a sudden, the black beast stiffened, his muzzle lifted, sniffing the air.
And to their surprise, the black beast turned around and headed in a different direction.
Seeing this, Altair and Asher gave a chase, while Caspian told Ace and Zephyr to leave with them too.
[The backup is on the way; we will be fine. Go!] Caspian ordered Zephyr and Ace. [Jeremy, back off!] He was furious when he talked to his younger son.
From afar, he could see Jeremy was fighting two wolves; he was already injured, and blood coated his fur.
[No!] Jeremy replied stubbornly.
[Go ahead first,] Ace said to Zephyr, as he headed toward his stupid little brother and fought the two wolves with him.
After they managed to take them down, he shoved him to the side and told him to stay clear of the brawl. Only then did he trace Zephyr and the other Lycans.
All of them were chasing Zade as he acted abnormally. A Lycan wouldn’t turn around from a fight without a reason. Especially the one who had completely lost their mind to their beast. Their thirst for blood would make them fight until they couldn’t anymore.
Therefore, it was rather unnerving to see Zade run away. Where was he going?
Yet, their problem was not only Zade but also the police who spotted them. Two of them aimed their guns at Zephyr, firing bullets, but they missed him.
And when they tried for the second attempt, Ace attacked them from behind while they sped to reload, clawing their back and their arm so they wouldn’t be able to hold the gun.
The attack didn’t kill them, but sure enough, they would ask for backup, and it wouldn’t take long before they managed to corner Ace and his warriors, leaving them with no other choice but to kill them all.
Meanwhile, Zade had dashed like crazy, crossing streets, and went to the main road, where a car sped up toward him and had to slam on the brakes before it could run him over.
Yet, the beast climbed the car and broke the windshield glass.
However, before he could attack the driver, a white beast had tackled him down to the ground. Everything happened so fast that the white beast’s claw dug so deep into Zade’s chest, and Zephyr was too late to intervene.
