"Take him down?" Ace repeated the words coldly. "Do you think Shadow Blood will not retaliate? You will cause more problems, Altair."

Altair’s electric blue eyes stared at the royal beta viciously. "I have warned you the last time he lost control of his beast that the next time it happened again, he would be put down. We can’t take a risk exposing our kind to humans, and he has done it a few times. His beast is stronger than he is. He is like a ticking bomb."

If it were another person, Ace would agree with Altair. But how could he be on the same footing with him when he talked about killing Zade? No way in hell he was going to let that happen.

"He is not helpless, Altair. He only needs to be restrained. It will be the same as it was a hundred years ago." Ace clenched his fist, but he already made a plan with Zephyr as the royal gamma stepped back to contact Caspian and mobilized their warriors.

They were at a disadvantage now because three main packs under them were trying to rebel.

"Because of that reason, Zade has to be put down." Altair looked at the royal beta coldly. "He is now a threat, and even if he can control himself this time, the same pattern will repeat in a few years. He should have planned better. Moreover, I heard his mate is a runt." Altair narrowed his eyes. "The Lycan shouldn’t have a weak woman as their mate. Too bad he turned down Chloe."

And before Ace could argue with him, the Lycan king had shifted into his beast form and then left.

They were currently in the underground garage of one of the buildings near the burned hotel. The warriors that Altair had brought with him also shifted into their wolf forms and followed their alpha away.

"Damn it," Ace cursed under his breath. He immediately made a quick order through the mindlink. He even asked Jeremy to help mobilize the warriors and briefly explained the critical situation to him.

Thankfully, the hospital he was treated at was close enough, and Ace still could reach him through the mindlink.

Jeremy then changed direction. He was currently driving, as he was heading to the apartment where his mother was. But after hearing Ace’s order, he changed lanes and headed back to his father’s location.

Meanwhile, Ace had shifted into his wolf form as well and brought a few warriors with him as he followed Altair to intervene if Altair managed to find Zade.

With that, aside from the news of a burned hotel, the news about a massive number of wolves that suddenly appeared after the fire was made public.

The surveillance cameras spotted a large number of wolves on the streets. At least, there were a hundred of them, and people were warned to be careful and stay indoors.

This was a phenomenon that had never happened before. People were terrified because those wolves were physically larger than the normal wolves.

And the question about where they came from was raised online, as a lot of speculation swarmed the internet.

A hundred years ago, when Zade lost control of his beast side, it didn’t cause such a ruckus because the media was not as widespread as it is now.

This time, however, it was different. In less than two hours, the phenomenon of a large number of wolves appearing on the streets became a trending topic.

"What is this?" Leia watched the news with Jane while Seara was sleeping. Jane had to medicate her so she could get some rest, and after some time, the drug knocked her off. "What’s going on?"

They saw a few wolves crossing the streets on the news. They didn’t even try to be discreet at all. It seemed as if all the shifters had shifted into their wolf forms and stopped hiding themselves.

The streets were cleared of civilians, as they hid themselves inside their houses; the police and the military swept the area and tried to capture the wolves on sight.

However, because of the number, the situation escalated. They were authorized to kill those wolves on the spot.

"How could things turn out like this?" Leia tried calling Caspian again, but he still didn’t answer. "Ugh! I am going to give him a piece of my mind when I see him."

Jane tried calling a few shifters she knew, but they didn’t know what was going on. Even the warriors were clueless. They had only been ordered to stay here and protect them.

And because of how quickly the situation changed, they were not updated on what actually happened on the field.

The first information came from Rio. He worked at the hospital and handled the victims of the fire.

"The two Lycan kings are here. They’re going to kill King Zade. Apparently, he has lost his sanity again," said Rio. He received this information from the warriors who were brought back after the battle between Ace’s and Altair’s warriors erupted.

It was only an hour before sunrise, but the streets in the Wvern City were exceptionally quiet. It was announced that the people had to remain inside their houses until the situation with the wolves was under control.

This was exactly what happened a hundred years ago, but the situation was different now.

"What? You can’t be serious, right? The Lycans can’t kill each other." Jane was flabbergasted.

"Apparently, they can. The Lycans are responsible for keeping each other in check and taking action when they are endangering the shifter race."

"That’s stupid. By doing this, they expose our existence. The news about the wolves is all over the place." Jane was furious.

"I know. But I only know about that detail; I am not sure about the other thing. Ace and King Altair are apparently on each other’s throats," Rio said grimly.

It didn’t look good.
