Chapter 113: THEY WERE HERE

Jane had never been slapped before; she was understandably furious and was ready to throw another punch. It became very personal to her now.

But before she could hit the warrior, someone put a hand on her shoulder and pulled her back slightly. It happened so fast when someone moved past Jane and punched the warrior in the face.

You could hear the crisp sound of the warrior’s broken nose when the fist made contact.

Then, before she could fall along with the fallen warrior, someone grabbed Seara. The bystanders gasped when they saw this. They recorded the altercation on their phones, and for a moment, the fire was forgotten.

Of course, they knew the two men there. They were important figures in the Blaze Company: Ace and Zephyr.

Some of the people there, who were not the attendees of the party, had no idea that Seara was Zade’s woman; therefore, when they saw Zephyr hugging her, they assumed that she was his woman instead, while Ace was with the other woman.

"Are you okay?" Zephyr asked Seara. He checked on her briefly and found cuts on her palms when she fell. "Oh, no... Zade will chew my head off when he sees this." The royal gamma grimaced.

Seeing the two of them, as well as some of the warriors, Jane assumed they came from a different pack because it was obvious that the three main packs had rebelled. Jane felt relieved but then remembered Jeremy.

"Ace, your brother!" Jane pointed in the direction of the narrow street where Jeremy was still with the remaining warriors. They couldn’t see him from here because there were so many people, and the area was rather secluded. "He is fighting against a few warriors there."

Ace groaned and then rushed toward the direction that Jane had told him. He looked furious. His cold façade dropped as he found a way to his younger brother.

"Get them to safety and get to Zade; I will see you there!" Ace shouted at Zephyr before his figure disappeared among the crowd.

It was not difficult to find Jeremy, as he had been forced to shift into his human form because of his injuries. He fought against three warriors; all of them were older than him, which meant they were fully trained and had more experience.

It was already a miracle for him to be able to hold on this long.

Seeing the condition of his little brother, Ace shifted into his grey wolf the moment the dim street covered him from the people’s eyes.

He slammed into the nearest wolf and broke the leg of the second one. The third wolf saw him, and he put up a fight that didn’t last long when the grey wolf bit a good chunk of flesh off his shoulder.

And he was forced to shift back into his human form because of the pain. He was bleeding profusely, and his healing ability was fighting back the injuries to keep him alive, while his fellow warriors had shifted back into their human forms and tried to help him.

On the other hand, Ace shifted back into his human form and knelt next to Jeremy. He cradled his younger brother and breathed in relief when he saw him open his eyes. His wounds started to heal. He was not going to die, but medical assistance would be needed.

"Did I scare you?" Jeremy asked, grinning when he saw his older brother. He knew he was safe when his brother was here.

"Not really. You are too stubborn to die so easily," Ace replied as he checked for any other injuries on him. The worst one was on his stomach; it seemed those filthy warriors managed to get him good.

"The only reason they can win is that they outnumbered me," Jeremy coughed lightly.

"Stop bragging. I will carry you out of here."

"No, that’s embarrassing. I am not a child anymore."

Despite his protests, Jeremy was too injured to walk on his own, so Ace carried him on his back like he used to do when Jeremy was little.

"Where are Mom and Dad? I tried to call them, but they didn’t pick up. Are they okay?" Jeremy wrapped his arms around Ace’s neck.

"They are fine. Zade expected them to retaliate, but not this soon, which is why he was caught off guard, too. But Dad has been mobilizing the warriors from the other five packs, and maybe that’s why he didn’t pick up your call. Mom is in a safe place. She doesn’t check her phone when she is nervous, and she always puts her phone on silent; you know."

That was right; their mother had that quirk. But anyway, he was glad that they were all right. Things could get uglier than this.

"Seara and Jane?"

"Zephyr is with them."

Jeremy watched the building; fire could still be seen. An ambulance and more fire trucks were on the way.

"Bro, you stink." Jeremy rested his forehead against Ace’s shoulder as he carried him away; at the same time, a few warriors came and took care of the three of them.

"Once we get home, you have to wash my expensive suit by hand until it is spotless." Ace could feel Jeremy’s blood soaking through his back, and he hastened his steps.

***

Zephyr had gotten Seara and Jane to be with Leia; they were fine. Seara was still not saying anything. She looked around her, as if searching for a specific person to find comfort, and they knew who she was looking for.

The problem was that it was difficult to enter the building where the three alphas had taken Zade because it was on fire. There were so many people, and the firefighters tried to get Zephyr and the other warriors away from the building.

Zephyr tried to reach Zade, but he was too far away. However, through the bond, Zephyr could feel how aggravated Zade’s beast was.

It seemed that killing them was inevitable.
