Karenne Forest Battle - Discovery -
A vast native forest, known as the "Forest of Karenne", exists in a place a little closer to Zalesier from the middle of Zalesier and Yaroswav. Karenne is a forest as well as a swamp, with many carriages and people supposedly stuck in that swamp.
As a result, there are no such things as rural or well-maintained streets around. Out of man's reach, this forest was quietly inhabited by a wide variety of flora and fauna, unrelated to people's livelihoods and blood-smelling wars.
Until the arrival of the Royal Silesian Army on April 12, though.
---
The regiment commanded by the Imperial Army Senior General Gromoiko, who pulled five divisions from Yaroswav, was initially northbound along the streets far east of this Karenne forest.
But I will discover a Royal Army reconnaissance unit in the early morning of April 13. Gromoiko did not defeat the reconnaissance unit, but followed the reconnaissance unit indefinitely. The Imperial Army, which had to be unnoticed by the Silesian reconnaissance forces thanks to the morning fog, confirmed that there were five Royal Army divisions at the point north of the Karenne forest.
"Why are there rebels here?
Senior General Gromoiko was in doubt before rejoicing in the newspaper of the discovery of the Royal Army. The Chief of Staff grasped the meaning and asked Gromoico.
"Why, what?
"Even if you think about it, look, Chief of Staff. If they came out with the intention of helping Yaroswav, they wouldn't be in a place like this. As soon as we go south, we hit the woods and we have to go either east or west. There's no reason to put the streets we're using here if they're using them from the beginning, too. Wouldn't you?
"Yes, you're right."
If this Royal Army is an army pulled from other fronts to rescue Yaroswav, then, as Gromoiko pointed out, the best course of action is to use the streets he uses. If we go off the streets, we cannot abandon the possibility of being lost no matter how much we say it is our own country, and in many cases we risk hindering the rest of our soldiers and the deployment of troops in unexplored areas.
Nevertheless, Gromoiko was wondering why the Royal Army chose this point.
But before Gromoiko could sum up his thoughts, he seemed to have noticed something when he saw the reconnaissance report delivered by the Chief of Staff.
"... maybe you moved to destroy our legions, not Yaroswav's rescue?
"What?
"Check this out. According to information from the reconnaissance unit, the Royal Army is heading east."
"What does that mean?
"Perhaps the rebels found out that our army is splitting up troops and heading north on this street. The rebels are apparently widows, so you can't miss it if you have every chance to destroy them."
"I see. I mean, we ambushed our left side northbound on the eastern streets defenselessly, trying to disintegrate them all at once. That would do less damage...... you mean?
"Probably."
"But we knew where the rebels were without the enemy noticing. I mean, you can't beat the rebels at the earliest."
"But what shall we do about it? The opponents are 5 divisions, the same on the number. If we do this properly, if we hit it poorly, it's going to be a war of attrition, and it's only going to cause more damage in vain."
"Hmm... right. Do you want to ambush us?"
"Surprise, is it?
Surprise attacks are measures that are originally used by the troops of the widows. There is no point in bothering to ambush the Great Army because if they are winning by number in the first place, they can win by cutting it in the front. If the Gromoiko Legion drains up here, the Empire still has a lot of troops left.
But Gromoiko dared to devise an ambush. It would sound like a later promotion if you did more damage in vain. On the other hand, if we can use odd measures to make war huge and damage minimal, the medal will be huge, paving the way for a marshal. He chose the path of surprise for extremely purposeful reasons.
"First, divide the troops into two parts. Four divisions under my direct command and one division in Yangtze."
"Yang Dynamic, is it"
"Ah. The Yang Dynasty Division keeps the streets going north like this. That way the rebels would march fast just saying they were waiting. Meanwhile, the four divisions of the main unit march the outer edge of the Karenne Forest critical. So you slap the rebels from the right back where they were headed."
"I see......!
Hearing the exclamation of the Chief of Staff, Gromoiko was satisfied. It is a supreme joy for him, the son of the great nobility, to say that those who descend upon him hear his utterly indispensable manoeuvres turn their voice of admiration and admiration.
"The command of the Yang Dynamic Squad... right, let's leave it to Lt. Gen. Lopatnikov. He wanted to put up a medal too, just fine."
"Okay. Get ready immediately."
Thus the operation of the Imperial Army Senior General Gromoiko was transferred to execution, on April 14, at 1 p.m.
