Chapter 295: Rage
Ashley tried to hold it together but her knees could barely hold her still but she did not kneel.
Her girlfriend was confused by everything and a bit terrified, she had already realised these weren’t friends.
So slowly she walked towards the phone trying to not draw attention. Ashley faced the two of them.
She stood tall pretending to be brave, in the years that she’s spent in the human world she had dealt with many men.
Most hitting on her and being insistent or some other woman, others even trying to force themselves on her.
She had grown arrogant having even dealt with other Fayera and Espara, in this city, only Toby was stronger than her.
Both of them were werewolves, three of them in one city made them untouchable, even the organisation didn’t want to deal with them.
After all, nobody at level 5 or above was allowed to take action in the human world making them one of the strongest beings around.
However all that confidence was dropping rapidly, standing before these two made her feel as weak as ant.
She took a deep breath and calmed her beating heart. " You can do whatever you want with me but lea.." she paused.
Annie and Adrian also looked out and saw an Espara floating outside the window looking at them.
" AHHHHHH!" Ashley’s girlfriend screamed and stumbled. Ashley grabbed her stopping her fall.
The Espara jumped folded her wings and jumped through the window. Adrian used his left eye.
’ An ability that allows her to grow wings, quite common but hers look a bit unique.’ he could tell at a glance there was more to her wings.
She unfolded them covering the shivering woman and glared at the three werewolves with vigilance.
The human crawled to Ashley and hid behind her confusing the Espara. " Wha.. I’m trying to save you here lady.
Anyways, I don’t care who you three are, you’ll come with me to the station and answer my question."
Annie raised her eyebrow, " And why would we do the again?" Her question made the Espara pause as if she had never even considered this outcome.
" Because I’m an agent of the organisation and I’m telling you to unless you want to get arrested for disobeying the law."
Adrian sighed, " Little girl, go along and fly somewhere else with those pigeon wings of yours, we’re busy."
Her face turned red, " Littl.. little girl, I’ll have you know I’m 39 years old, I’m a fully grown woman, you’re the brat here.
No wait, you’re a Fayera so you might actually be older, but you can’t be that old right." She started mumbling to herself.
" Level 4 at 39 years, that’s quite impressive for an Espara." Annie complimented the girl making her blush.
’ She’s still just like a little girl.’ Annie thought to herself but that was understandable. Due to a much higher lifespan.
Her learning curve is most likely higher as well so even though she’s a fully grown adult by normal standards.
She still has the maturity of a teenager, Annie knew that would’ve been the case for them as well.
But when they were turned, most were already adults or at the very least in their late teens which meant they had grown well enough by then.
Still her presence was annoying, she was about to chase her off but the girl’s face lost the playfulness it had before.
" I’m investigating somebody who used esper above level 5, do you know who that was?" She asked.
They both thought about it, Annie had limited her power at level 4 when she attacked that vampire.
Yet another vampire was able to rescue them faster than her attack could land, it was obvious they had used power above hers.
So she nodded, the girl got excited but Annie raised her hand. " I suggest you go report to your senior agents, you’re not dealing with a vampire by yourself little girl, you’ll get yourself killed."
Before she could say anything else, a powerful force threw her out the wind and she disappeared into the night sky screaming.
Annie looked at Adrian, " She was annoying." He whispered and turned his cold eyes to the Ashley.
Ashley knew she was in trouble, it was unfortunate she couldn’t get her girlfriend out during that distraction.
" I don’t know who you are so please leave before I call the po... mmm mmm!" The woman tried to speak but her mouth was sealed shut.
Annie had used her psionic lunar esper to change illusion into reality and completely removed the woman’s mouth.
For Annie, it was an experiment to test how strong her reality manipulation was but for the poor woman, it was the most terrifying experience.
Tears fell down her cheeks like rivers, Ashley clenched her fist but she didn’t dare make a move.
Adrian’s cold eyes seemed to pierce straight into her soul. " Have you forgotten who had given you all you have?" He asked.
Ashley closed her eyes, " Forgive me my lord but I couldn’t take the unfairness anymore.
We’ve seen serving the pack for years and still stuck as mere Omega only for new members to be directly made into Gemma."
Annie sighed, " If you had so much discontent then why not come talk to us?" She asked.
" My lady, we of the pack cannot question you let alone lord Adrian unless we want to have our hearts pulled out."
" So?" Adrian asked catching both Ashley and Annie off guard.
" I ask again, have you gotten who gave you all you have? You would be a pile of bones had it not been for me.
Your life is mine to do as if I see fit, your duty is to appreciate what I give you and be grateful.
Unfairness? What gave you the gall to think we owe you any explanation, what gave you the confidence to think you deserve anything from us?
I gave you the gift of immortality, even as an Omega you have the potential to reach level 5, even 6 and with some luck level 7.
Yet you think you deserve more, I gave you what most could only dream of and you think you deserve MORE!" His voice shook the entire city.
Glasses broke and hundreds had their eardrums busted with a few even losing their lives.
Annie acted saving the rest or that roar might’ve turned half the city into dust, unfortunately she couldn’t save all.
Somehow the woman dating Ashley was still alive but unconscious. Ashley herself felt her bones rattling.
Adrian’s cold eyes pierced into her heart making her blood run cold, his expression was as cold as ice.
He cut open a hole to Alguard and said nothing, she knew what she had to do, she looked down at the unconscious woman with a complicated expression and jumped through the hole.
Annie touched Adrian’s arm, " We need to leave, you’ve draw attention with your outburst."
