Chapter 308: First Blood
The two armies saw the massive palace floating above and stood frozen, they had been warned of this.
But experiencing it was completely different from hearing about this, the seven level 8 supernaturals took a defensive stance.
" Render, you said this thing is being controlled by the female?" The Inkstone Espara asked.
Render Belvord nodded, " Last time we fought she used it as a weapon and managed to exchange a few blows with us.
This thing has enough power to challenge even people at our level so be careful." He warned them.
The castle walls seemed to move like a puzzle being undone, massive guns with long barrels appeared.
Render didn’t even get a chance to scream a warning before a rain of bullets rained down on the two armies.
’ These bullets, they’re much stronger than last time, What’s happening?’ Render wondered to himself.
His peers all used their own means to either dodge or block the bullets but the army behind them was not so lucky.
In a single second over a thousand soldiers died, then the rain of bullets came to a stop revealing the mess left below.
The ground was riddled with holes and body pieces everywhere. Adrian and Annie didn’t stop because they ran out of power.
The castle still had a lot of power to spare, they were saving it for the level 8 leaders as for the rest of the two armies.
They had to leave some for the rest of the pack to take their anger out on. The castle landed on the ground with a thud.
The forest shook and trees fell clearing the ground around the castle, then the walls opened.
The two armies took defensive stances expecting another attack from the castle but instead.
10 people came out, each one with eyes as cold as ice and their power blazed to the sky making both Fayera and Espara gulp.
Sam led the Delta werewolves, they were all here with the exception of Fred who stayed behind to protect the castle as was his duty and Louis who was left at base due to pregnancy.
As for John and Suki who were personal bodyguards of Adrian and Annie, they too joined this battle.
Behind them was the werewolf army numbering close to 10 000 with the weakest already at level 4.
They stood against over 25 000 soldiers, initially the opposite army had about 10 000 Fayera led by three level 8 Fayera.
The Espara had about 8 000 Espara led by 2 level 8 Espara but soon after they met up with the Sage turtle and his army plus the Balrock clan Espara.
As for where those two came from, they didn’t care, they just knew they had a common goal and that’s all that mattered.
The two armies outnumbered their enemies by more than 2 times, they grew confident and watched the werewolves with murderous gazes.
Sam walked towards them slowly and stopped a few hundred metres from the two armies.
His usual laziness was gone replaced by an overwhelming killing intent, he’s known Alex for around 8 decades now.
The first 13 and Adrian were his closest friends, one of them being killed by these fools angered him to end.
" You know, I’m usually a laid back guy and unlike others I don’t enjoy fighting much but you lot, I’ll enjoy killing you."
His voice came out cold, his eyes glowed with silver and his skin and bones cracked as he transformed.
The others followed suit without saying a single word, all those at Gemma and above took their true werewolf forms.
The omega who were the most numerous activated their abilities and waited for the order to attack.
" Attack." Sam whispered and moved, he was the fastest werewolf after Adrian, even faster than Annie.
Second to him was Marcus whose speed while lower allowed for more room to manoeuvre.
The two of them were the first to reach the opposite army, a distance of a few hundred metres was nothing but a step to them.
The opposite army was not worried, they had seven level 8 fighters on their side, they were certain of their victory.
Then two ghosts appeared each with power rivalling that of a level 8, naturally as ghosts they didn’t have levels.
These were Eve’s parents, they looked down at the level 8 Fayera and Espara ready to attack at any moment.
Their feelings for the pack were deep as well, the pack took in their children on their lowest point.
Had it not been for them, Eve would’ve been completed consumed by Bloody Mary and Cane would’ve died long ago.
Their gazes were mostly fixed on the vampires, since their deaths were caused by vampires.
Their grudge was mostly with them, it was an uncontrollable hatred born of their nature as ghosts.
Still, they were high level ghosts, although they couldn’t stop themselves from hating, they didn’t attack immediately.
As for the rest, barrels of cannons pointed at them from the castle walls and they also felt a tremendous aura in there.
Eve was gentle releasing her aura as a warning, she didn’t attack because she could sense the two sins behind the armies.
Although the power of the sins was limited without their sigils, they couldn’t reach the level of a god, they could still reach Demigods and they have.
Their presence limited Eve’s actions, she had a feeling if she acted so would they so she sat still and waited.
Adrian was fine with this, after all he wanted to deal with these pests by himself. All this happened in a split second.
The seven level 8 Espara and Fayera hesitated about trying to stop the pack lunging at them.
The Balrock clan Espara was as hot headed as Render, the two of them took action without hesitation.
Balrock clan could control the earth, he stomped his foot on the ground causing tremors that split the ground apart.
Render summoned a massive sword and swung it down towards the approaching army as if trying to split the world in half.
Sam didn’t even glance at their attacks, the shaking ground was no issue for them, they just had to avoid the spreading cracks.
As for Render’s sword, he placed his trust on Adrian and as expected, a beam of lunar esper shot the sword down from the cannon mounted on th castle walls.
Render retreated giving them a chance to reach the army behind him. In front of Sam stood another Espara from the Belvord clan.
Clad in massive heavy army he confronted Sam without fear but he had underestimated the lunar step.
Sam pushed off the ground accelerating to a level beyond what his enemy could react to, his claws merged with his sword ability cut through the metal armour like a hot knife through butter.
He appeared behind him in a blink of an eye, the two armies froze, the Belvord clan Espara’s head slid off his neck.
The werewolves had tasted the first blood.
