Chapter 302: Axiom Arrives
Meggie and Maleficent waited for an army of wraiths, they had prepared their spells and ready to attack at any moment.
The realm of Alfheim suddenly shook, the barrier surrounding it cracked but no matter how hard they looked they couldn’t see any wraith army.
" What’s happening? Is this supposed to happen?" Maleficent asked she was getting nervous.
Meggie frowned, " I’m afraid something else might’ve came, but what could be so powerful?" Meggie wondered.
To shake the entire realm of Alfheim, not even a Demigod could do that, hundreds of them perhaps but if that was the case she should’ve been able to see them.
The the barrier shattered like glass and a wave of dark esper flooded out of Alfheim into Alguard.
This increased the already dense ambient dark esper, Meggie immediately cast a spell to teleport out of Alfheim.
However she found herself still on the same spot, ’ My spell didn’t work, what the hell am I dealing with here?’
To block the spell of a Demigod, not just any Demigod, Meggie did not want to brag but with her current strength.
Even the mothers were not a match for her individually, besides the great mother, she was the strongest witch to ever exist.
Dark clouds gathered above them engulfing all of Alfheim into darkness with the only source of light being the dancing bolts of lightning in the clouds.
A shadow of a massive figure appeared deep within the clouds, briefly illuminated by the lightning before disappearing into the darkness once more.
" Oh dear God we’re doomed." Meggie cursed terrifying the already terrified Maleficent even more.
-----------------------------------------------
Somewhere in a beautiful garden that stretched for as far as the eye could see giving the illusion of going forever.
A couple sat together chatting and eating, then both of them froze and their eyes turned towards the same direction.
" Is that?" The woman asked, the man stood up.
" Let go." They teleported away instantly.
-----------------------------------------------
The high council and the organisation also felt the barrier breaking, the guards standing outside the barrier reported what happened.
At first they thought an army of Demigods had taken action but from the report, no army had been spotted.
Multiple Demigods flew off to check what’s happening but what they saw when there got there shook their souls to the core.
Even Anyx who should’ve been able to see the future was surprised, " Isn’t it a bit too early for them to come out? And are they facing against each other?"
They were all trying to rationalize what they were seeing but no reasonable answer came to mind.
-----------------------------------------------
In Alfheim.
Meggie and Maleficent watched at a tall muscular figure clad in a dark robe with a hood that hid his face descended from the sky.
On their shoulder was massive hammer larger than even he was with flickers of lightning on it.
An aura Meggie had never felt before pressed down on her, it was so heavy her body sunk to the ground.
She could barely move her fingers, she felt as if a mountain was placed on top of her, mind you she was a witch.
No matter how powerful she was, physically she was not very impressive, amongst the weakest Fayera even.
She couldn’t bear so much pressure and her bones started cracking, Maleficent had it even worse.
Her face was getting paler with each passing moment, Meggie started panicking, she didn’t want her friend to die.
She tried casting a spell but her magic did not respond no matter how hard she tried, she felt as if she was cut off from it.
" Where is it?" A raspy deep voice asked, it was so powerful it shook her very soul. She gritted her teeth to the point of bleeding.
" Where is it?" The voice asked again but Meggie didn’t answer, she tried thinking of solutions but nothing came to mind.
No amount of scheming and tricks could deal with such overwhelming power, this was the absolute truth of the world.
Maggie knew, she knew there was a high chance neither she nor Maleficent were getting out of here alive.
Slowly and with difficulty she managed to raise her eyes to look at the one questioning her.
" Ho..how are you out?" She asked with difficulty, her voice barely managing to leave her mouth.
" Where is it, I shall not ask you again?" He didn’t answer her question but asked his again, with a threat this time.
She knew he wasn’t kidding, if this continues he would really kill her, ’ I need to buy time, think think Morgana.
This is an Axiom so it’s obvious who he’s talking about but I’ll be damned if I tell him that.
If I don’t tell him though he might really try to kill me, frankly I don’t want to die, how do I get out of this?
Perhaps if I know which Axiom, no that won’t work, I know basically nothing about those ancient beings.
To get out of this I’m going to need a miracle, play the fool, maybe that might buy me a bit if time."
" I don’t know what you’re talking about, if you could perhaps tell me I might be able to help you
We could work together to find what you’re looking for, with both of us I’m sure we’ll find it very quickly, how about it?" She answered playing a fool.
She talked a lot but each word was accompanied by the feeling of her throat feeling like it was being peeled by razors.
But she needed to buy as much time as possible to think of a solution or have a miracle appear.
Meggie had once glimpsed into her future, she knew this was not where she died, at least that’s how it was supposed to be.
However nothing involving the Axiom ever made sense, they were calamitous they defied reality and fate, they were like the Nameless demon, anything could happen when they were involved.
" You dare lie to me? I can smell it in your womb, its breath on your breasts, you birthed it and you fed it from your own body.
For your deceit you shall pay with your life." His voice was calm yet sounded like a raging storm. He pointed a finger at her.
Meggie’s eyes opened wide and the world turned bright, ’ Damnit, he’s actually trying to kill me, without even getting the information they need.’
He felt the temperature skyrocket from the bolt of lightning and just as it was about to hit her.
A scroll unfolded above her.
