Chapter 282: Restructuring
Adrian woke up, he saw his pack members surrounding his bed with Annie sleeping next to him.
She opened her eyes and smiled, he looked around saw the oldest members were all present.
" Are..are you pregnant?" He asked in a sleepy voice. Louis smiled and rubbed her belly which was starting to show.
" How far along?" He asked.
" A few years now but I don’t think it will be long before I give birth, lately, I could feel the little one growing faster." She sounded happy.
Adrian used his left eye and realised she was right," It’s the anti-Famine potion, it seems to be promoting growth.
Not just that, it appears to increase fertility as well." Adrian was quite taken back by that as well.
He looked at Annie, " We need to be more careful, I don’t think you getting pregnant would be great right now."
Annie nodded, she wanted a child with him but she knew this wasn’t the right time, they had much to deal with.
They weren’t the only ones, Suzie looked at John as if warning him that if he dared get her pregnant she would kill him.
In truth, they didn’t have much to worry about, it was hard enough for werewolves to conceive let alone werewolves of their rank and level.
Adrian got out of bed, " I need to take a shower and Suzie, prepare me a meal." Was he hungry? No.
But eating was still a pleasant thing and he didn’t want to stop doing it just because he doesn’t need to.
Annie joined him, they took a long deep bath together accompanied by some spicy time before going to the living room.
He had invited the others but after a threatening look from Suzie, nobody dared to come.
According to Annie, Suzie made it clear this living room was just for the king and queen as she said.
The only one who dared to ignore her was Sam but Melissa dragged him away by his ear, it seemed she agreed with Suzie.
The Delta werewolves were quite close to Adrian but they still preferred maintaining some boundaries.
They believed doing that would retain Adrian’s majesty whatever that meant, he couldn’t convince them so he just didn’t bother trying.
After eating, they stood on the balcony of the castle watching the rising city below them.
Annie had a small smile as she watched the humans and Fayera getting along as if it was normal.
They saw Louis there playing with children and talking to other women, some who were already pregnant.
The dead eyes they had when they first got here was gone, even Adrian saw hope and life in their eyes.
" What are our next plans?" Annie asked and leaned on his shoulder. Adrian thought about it.
" I’m not sure but if you plan to develop this place, I suggest you introduce modern technology as well.
Most of these people lived in the human world, they might appear fine but living like this must be inconvenient for them"
Annie nodded, " What about the others?" Adrian knew who she was talking about. His eyes turned cold.
" Don’t worry about them, they can’t hide from me, I’ll deal with them when I have the time."
She nodded, Suzie and Fred appeared behind them carrying a folder, they passed it to Annie.
" Oh, while you were sleeping we did some restructuring, it’s still in its infancy and not very structured but take a look."
He took the folder, it had the names of every werewolf and which lineage they belonged to.
He flipped the pages and after the list of the names there were roles given to each lineage.
There wasn’t much of a change from before, Athi’s lineage were still intelligent gatherers now officially called the intelligence bureau.
Alex’s lineage were the investigations bureau, their heightened senses even stronger than other werewolves made them perfect for the role.
Suzie’s lineage was few in numbers and their roles still remained personal service to him and Annie.
John’s lineage were still his personal guards and Suki’s lineage were Annie’s personal guards.
That hadn’t changed, Fred’s lineage took the role of castle guards, similar to soldiers but who won’t be deployed.
Even if the pack goes to war, unless there’s no other option, his lineage would focus on guardian the castle and solely the castle.
There were few of them to begin with, with members numbering only about 800. Bred and Sbu took the roles of border guards.
Annie made it clear she intended to extend their territory to encompass the mountain ranges and ebeb further.
In fact she has already marked what they claimed and the territory extended for over 10 500 kilometres.
Those two lineages would guard the border, they would be the first line of defense should the pack be attacked which will most likely happen.
It was a dangerous role, Marcus’s lineage were going to be part of the army and so were Charlie’s.
Louis preferred her mate stay by her but Charlie knew that would be a waste, his ability was combat oriented.
So was her’s but Louis didn’t like fighting, she was going to the administrative role unfortunately that didn’t suit her lineage.
So most members of her lineage chose to join Charlie’s brigade and join the army. Then there were Sam and Melissa.
Melissa naturally became part of the army and so did the rest of her lineage, Sam was too lazy for that.
He created the police force, his lineage’s role would be to maintain order in their territory.
He chose this specifically because he believed it would be an easy role, Adrian had to plans to make it easy.
He already had a mission for Sam seeing his smile Annie knew some poor bloke was about to have the worst time of their lives.
At last was Annie’s lineage which just consisted of her family and Cane. Cane joined the army much to her sister’s protest.
Her family chose to move here since the outside world has become much more dangerous for werewolves.
Anathi joined the investigation bureau led by Alex, Athanathi and her parents were going to assist her and work with Louis on the administrative roles.
Her father had done something similar for a living when he was still a human so it shouldn’t be a problem for him.
Adrian closed the folder, " So, anything you want to add?" She asked. He shook his head.
" No, everything seems fine, I’m not very good at this thing anyways so it best I just leave it to you."
She nodded with a smile, " Oh, I almost forgot to mention, there’s a small volcano near here, do you think you can get your hands on black elk tree seeds?"
