Chapter 305: Brewing Storm
Avian was an Aurowl standing more than four metres tall with white owl like wings on his back.
His owl eyes stared straight at Alex and even though he flapped his wings as he flew he didn’t make any sounds.
" May I ask what this is about?" Alex asked but what answered him was a blade of wind that cut the sky in half.
’ Too fast.’ Alex jumped to the side to dodge but he wasn’t fast enough, the wind blade cut off his leg.
He grabbed it mid and placed it back and the wound healed at a visible speed. " So it’s true, you lot truly are immortal."
The Avian spoke and landed in front of him with a massive halberd on its hands. Alex retreated and took a fighting stance.
" I’m not sure why you’re doing this but I should tell you, it won’t end well for you, you still have a chance to retreat."
The Avian tilted its head like a bird and turned its gaze towards the two retreating werewolves.
Before Alex could react it waved its wings and sent two wind blades flying as fast as lightning.
The two werewolves had no chance to react and were cut in half, they fell on the ground with the entrails on the floor.
Alex did not even turn back, he sent a pack call but something incomprehensible happened.
The pack call bounced back as if it had met an invisible barrier. Behind the two armies envy looked at greed.
" Oh worry not sister, I’ve had some help of my own, there is another who want these little wolves dead."
He revealed a sphere flickering with Lightning, " This will weaken any power related to lunar esper." He told her.
Envy knew where Greed had gotten this power, she recognised it, after all she was present during the ancient era.
She had personally witnessed and even experienced this power. " How did you convince that stubborn brat hehehe?" Envy asked in her creepy voice.
" That’s the beauty of it sister, he came to me, it seems his hatred of us is nothing in comparison to what he feels for the heart of destruction."
As the two primordial demons were talking to each other secretly, the rest of the armies were watching the confrontation.
" So these are the guys we’re supposed to fight? They don’t seem like much, two are already dead just like that." Said a Fayera with a tiger head.
" Do not underestimate them, they are as tenacious as we vampires are, something like that is not enough to kill them." Said a vampire.
The others still didn’t believe him but he was a level 8 vampire, they didn’t dare speak up againt him.
Even the other level 8 Fayera and Espara were a bit vigilant against him. They still watched the two fallen werewolves.
In front of their eyes, those two grabbed their lower bodies and put their selves back together.
" Oh, it seems you were right, they do seem quite hard to kill." Said a level 8 Espara with suprise.
But that was all, to him those two werewolves were nothing impressive, even their leader wasn’t a threat.
They could feel that in terms of ranking he was equal to a marquis but that alone wouldn’t be enough to bridge such a gap.
Especially against them, after all too were high in ranking, it’s the reason they reached so far in their power.
Alex watched the suprised avian, " Your race is indeed an interesting one, interesting indeed."
The Avian raise his halberd, heavy winds howled from the sky and a massive tornado surrounded his body.
It expanded rapidly covering a dozen kilometres in a split second, Alex found himself trapped inside.
" Now, there will be no chances of escape." The Avian took a step forward and swung down his halberd.
Alex transformed into a werewolf nearly three metres tall and met the halberd with his claws.
Clang, the sound of clashing metal shook the air, the ground beneath his feet exploded sending a shockwave spreading out.
A massive crater appeared beneath Alex but more than that, the bones in his arms had cracked from that clash.
The wounds healed in a blink of an eye and he retreated but his opponent was even faster.
’ This is bad, the gap is too large, how do I get out of this?’ countless thought ran through his head.
Alex’s lineage’s abilities were not one designed for battle but for tracking prey and sensing danger beforehand.
He was still a werewolf and his physical strength alone made him an absolute beast in comparison to most Fayera races.
Unfortunately, his opponent was an entire level above him, that alone would not be an issue in lower levels.
But as his level, a difference of a single level was almost impossible to cross, ’ My only chance here is my venom but how do I bite him?’
Alex wondered then he noticed he was slowly losing strength, ’ What’s happening? I feel like my esper is being dragged out of my body.’
At first he thought it was the Avian’s domain but the Avian was yet to activate his domain so that couldn’t be it.
’ No, it isn’t just my esper, the ambient lunar esper as well, whatever this is, it’s specifically designed to target us.
I need to get this out but how I do that? There’s a barrier blocking my pack call, this is really bad.’
Alex was greatly shaken, ever since becoming a werewolf, he couldn’t remember the last time he felt so helpless.
" AWOOOOO!" He howled and his domain expanded covering hundreds of metres in a blink of an eye.
The Avian watched in interest with complete confidence in himself, Alex was one of the few werewolves with an area type domain.
The Avian felt nothing at first then a flood of information came at him all at once, especially scents, he smelled so many things at once his brain almost overloaded.
The smell itself was not an issue but it was so powerful it allowed him to see images left by the scents.
Then came the rest of the information from the noise to even the touch of the wind against his skin.
It was a brief moment before the Avian activated his own domain and crushed Alex’s domain.
Alex’s domain was never meant to be used like that, it was meant to increase his own senses and allow him to perceive the world fully.
But his body and mind was made to withstand that flood of information, for others, it was torture.
So while the moment was brief, the Avian was already heaving with red eyes. Alex took that opportunity and lunged.
He aimed for the neck with his fangs, ready to end everything all at once.
---------------------------------------------
Good news, it wasn’t anything major, due to astigmatism, my eyes were just too fatigued which is why they hurt.
I wasn’t told not to use my computer or phone but I do have to limit it for a while and I should stop whenever my eyes start feeling fatigued.
