Dream Life

Episode 43: Response

"Rasmore Village Hall Hill Map"

Tria history October 20, 2018, around 7pm.

A group of undead raided the village of Rasmore, which sets in the darkness.

The eastern meadow, illuminated by lighted magic props and night combat throwers, is filled with a horde of creepy dead people, and countless ghosts (ghosts) drift from left to right over it.

The commander of the Lockhart family is Grandfather Govan, a warrior in the war. My grandfather holds the magic sword of Adamantite on the half plate of Mithril, staring at the east sky in front of the mansion. Behind it stood Walt Vassel, holding a brand new divine spear and consolidating himself in the Mithrill-reinforced clasp, Hoberg, as if to protect his grandfather.

Father Masaias stands as long as possible in the mansion as the last fortress to protect Luna.

I was standing by at the top of Hill Hall, a training ground near Lockhart Mansion. On the side Liddy holds the bow in his hand and furthermore Sharon stares at the eastern sky in the same way with the cane awarded at the Academy.

Mel stood forward as if to protect me, because of her temper or because she had already pulled out her sword.

At the edge of the training ground Beatrice was giving instructions to the vigilante with a relaxed look.

"Look! When the Ghosts are eating up on Zach's magic, beat them all up! If you hadn't eaten by magic, you'd be on your way to the Mansion soon! You got it!

"Roger!" replies the vigilantes nervously, but there was still not a single person who was feeling scared.

There are about thirty vigilantes guarding the mansion. Particularly good among the two hundred and seventy vigilantes are gathered, all at levels above thirty-five. In the ranks of mercenaries, they are fierce beyond the fifth level.

Almost nowhere in this size of an army do we have all these soldiers. Few places would even the prestigious mercenary regiment have the power to this point.

Furthermore, those here should be given Mithrill-coated swords and spears, and should be able to work adequately against the Ghost. Just in terms of versus the Ghost, it's the highest troop in the world as far as I can tell.

By the way, the Mithrill-coated weapons have been given priority work by the Beltrams, increasing the number. Until about a month ago, I could only make Beltram, but now I can also make Meena and Volckers, and I have six of them working at once.

Thanks in part to this, as it stands, there are sixty spears in a hundred swords and more than a hundred chest armor Cuiras has also finished remodeling, which is not good for all members of the vigilante, but a sufficient number can be turned for each squad.

Dan is expected to have bow arms and is handed out to the same bowmen as his father Guy Jakes and Hector Marron.

This archer army consists of twenty excellent archers and ten crossbowmen who handle the crossbow "Ishiyumi" well.

Mithril's arrows have secured about two thousand, and are distributed to the archers. There are about five hundred Mithrill-coated Taiya Bolts, but since they are also distributed to soldiers distributed everywhere, only about ten per crossbowman in this unit can be given.

Given the crossbow's continuous shooting performance, I thought it would be pointless to have too many available, but as far as the number of Ghosts is concerned, I think it went out the back.

The Archers waited near the training ground, and when hooked into shadow displacement (Shadowstoke), they were supposed to fire simultaneously, then attack enemies flying over them.

It's hard to see from the mansion, but it looks like an army of the dead (undead) has stopped outside the fence. The Ghosts also remain drifting over it.

I shrugged at the situation without thinking it was "unsavory". I heard that, and Liddy said, "What's going on?" He asks.

"Stopped in front of the fence means the enemy has intelligence. I would have been confident that he would have defended me if he had attacked me with force..."

"But isn't that a good thing sometimes?

In her words, "What do you mean?" and lean his neck.

"'Cause that doesn't mean you're not attacking the dark clouds like last year's orc doesn't mean you haven't noticed Luna's presence?

I can certainly say that. However, it is likely that Luna's presence is aware that we have come this far straight.

When I tried to point that out, the enemy started to move.

From the tower for air defense: "Enemy forward! I heard a voice, and from the foot of the hill, I said," Aim well! "I can hear my brother slightly.

My grandfather said, "Attract me here! Zach, do the magic!," he ordered.

"Roger!" he exclaims, casting a shadow-stalk spell.

"Night and peace, God of darkness (Noctis). Give me the will. I will not give you the power of my life at that price. Wake up, Impact Master! Shadowstoke!"

This time the shadow is made with the image of fright. Because I wondered if this could lure the enemy by recreating the emotions Luna felt a year ago.

My shadow, made by the light of the projector, slowly rises. And I stood right in the middle of the training ground.

Immediately after that, the enemy's movements changed.

"The Ghost is gaining tremendous momentum and coming this way!" To the voice of the watch, "my grandfather said," Prepare to intercept!, "he commands, and lays down his sword. Walt behind my grandfather also slowly lifts the spear.

"I'm coming over here! All the ghosts that come near me, don't slap them all! But don't take it the wrong way! Think of it as bareback and deception!

Beatrice's orders echo the training ground. The vigilante said in a confident voice, "Roger!," he replied, setting up each weapon.

The Ghosts fly towards my shadow like crazy. He sprinkles strange or screaming thoughts that don't make him a voice, and he spreads fear.

I heard a young vigilante swallow gokuri and spit.

"Rest assured! The armor we're all wearing has a misrill on it! You look a little silly, gross, but you have nothing to fear!

I can afford to return to Beatrice's cheerful voice to the look on the faces of the vigilantes who were about to be drunk by fear for a moment.

Ghost came into the training ground as he repeatedly approached him with a serpentine.

The moment I tried to set "Taka" in my shadow, I said, "Let go!" Hector's sharp voice echoes. The sound of a bun of bowstrings echoes as it is worn in its voice, followed by a shrug of arrows slashing and tearing the air.

At the next moment, the Ghost, who was more than a hundred, disappears scattering his thoughts like an extinct demon.

Still, the Ghost will come to my shadow next. Even in that situation, the bowmen were calm, releasing arrows as they scattered, causing the Ghost to disappear. As far as Hector and Guy were concerned, a single arrow had erased several of them.

So far, it's going my way. Next to me, Liddy also uses a bow, and she efficiently wipes out the Ghost, too. But there are too many ghosts coming to kill, and attacks with arrows have made it impossible to eliminate them.

(As we've done so far, the shadows disappear when the Ghosts get together any more. Well, what's the matter......)

Further behind the Ghosts, we begin to see the wretched appearance of the Necromancer Specter.

"Sharon! I need a big eye flame storm (Firestorm) around my shadow!

Sharon understands my intentions, and soon he will chant a nodding spell.

In the meantime, the specters were also beginning to approach the shadows. But unlike the Ghost, Specter stood still in the air to identify my shadow without going into the dark clouds.

"Hector! Target Spector! The Ghost is something Sharon will do!

Hector said, "Copy that!," he responded, "Archers, aim for Specter! Let go!" he immediately turned the target into a specter.

The specters were stationary in the air, but when they realized they were targeted by a bow, they began to rise like they were in a panic. But the Hectors are quicker, getting misrilled arrows that fly with sharp wind incisions, and vanishing one after the other.

The specters flee, but the Ghost, as always, was headed for my shadow. Then, the magic of Sharon's Firestorm is complete.

"... burn down my enemies! Firestorm!"

At the next moment, a vortex of flames appeared in the training field, about ten meters radius and ten meters high. At its center is my shadow, and only there is like the eye of a typhoon.

The ghosts who arrive in the shadows feel like "summer bugs flying into the fire” and are burned by the flames of Sharon one after another. The flames went out in about thirty seconds, but after they disappeared, all I had left was my shadow.

Still, the Ghosts never interrupted. The specters are also flying around as if to identify my shadow in the air.

The whole specter in the sky noticed me and let out a strange thought. For a moment, I felt a nauseating glare, but it fits right in.

It was Spector's mental attack.

However, it is largely unaffected by high mental strength and mental endurance skills, plus protective equipment reinforced by mythrills. It was only the shock of the first attack that made me feel nauseous for a moment, and in the second attack I only feel the degree to which my neck muscles are zoomed out.

Liddy and Sharon look slightly flattered on the side, but they don't seem to have much influence either, moving on to the attack immediately. The Specters' attack is focused on us, but it never worked at all.

Beatrice knew we were under attack.

"Zach! We'll take care of the ghost downstairs! Specters, please!

That's all she said, "I'm not letting all Marlon's husbands have a good place!," he shouted, swinging his spear and dancing into the training ground, burying the ghost with allowances and gradually.

Behind it were thirty vigilantes, led by Mel, who hung on to the Ghost in the same manner as they whispered.

Hector also said, "Don't hit the flow arrows on your side! Aim carefully!," he exclaims, sniping at the specter floating in the air.

Both Liddy and Sharon start targeting Specter, shooting him down one after the other. I also began to prepare the light attribute magic I had in mind for the anti-undead while keeping the magic of shadow displacement fixed.

"God of light (Lucidus), who commands all the light of the world. Wrap yourself holy, and lend me the coat of light. I will not give you the power of my life. Give your filthy soul the light of Misogi! purification"

With the completion of the spell, a light like Aurora spreads from my right hand into the sky, enveloping over the training ground. Specters and ghosts panic to escape that light, but its white and pale light is faster than it looks, and the specters are swallowed one after the other. Specters who touched the light rapidly lost power and fell to the ground.

Downstairs, the Beatrices await, burying the dull specters of movement one after the other.

The magic I used this time is the anti-attribute of the Dark attribute, the magic that uses the Light attribute to offset the power of the Dark Spirit. As an image, it is closer to UV sterilization than to resetting. The light-hitting undead loses power to shrivel.

Almost all ghosts and specters are drawn down to the ground by my magic, and those who are lucky enough to escape in the air are also wiped out by Sharon's magic and the arrows of the Hectors.

About thirty minutes in time. Probably wiped out over five hundred ghosts and a hundred or so specters.

With all that fighting done, there was no damage here at all. It is annihilating hundreds of undead without bearing one plunder wound. It was just a complete win.

This time, there is a reason why it was so easy to defeat Ghost and Specter.

The primary reason would have been to possess a weapon made of magic metal, such as a valid misrill against a phantom. I don't know the exact numbers, but it is believed that ghosts and other phantom demons have little health (HP). These demons have so-called “Physical Attack Disabled” skills, so normally they have no problem with little or no HP.

This time, however, the Ghosts with no defense and low HP can be defeated even if they have just plundered because they use a magic metal weapon capable of attacking ghosts and spirits. In other words, the Ghosts are totally ducks from those with magic metal weapons.

If I were to give you another reason, it's that the Ghosts overreacted to the magic of Shadowstoke. If we had calmly targeted vigilantes without overreacting, we would not have been able to exterminate them so easily. Mithrill-made protective equipment has not reached everyone, so it could have been damaged by a mental attack.

My grandfather, who watched without taking part in the battle in front of the mansion, was more stunned than surprised that he defeated the Ghosts too easily. Walt, who stands behind him, also looks distraught.

"I've never fought this insane before," he laughs.

"I'm worried about the rods. I'm sorry, but the Hectors have ordered us to head for the fence," he ordered.

We tried to get to the fence, too, but my grandfather held me and Sharon back, just Liddy.

"Zach and Sharon give it a rest. I'm sorry, but will you go back and support Rod?"

"I still have enough magic," I said.

"The battle has just begun. That could go on for days too. This is an order," he said. And he said, "Of course, if the fence seems to be in jeopardy, have it go, but now rest anyway. This isn't a job either," he was embarrassed.

(I know by my head that I'm resting when everyone is fighting...... I think that extra especially because I know I have enough strength and magic...)

The first round of the fight was a complete win for the Lockhart family. But I can't be more optimistic than I don't know the full extent of the enemy's power.

My grandfather also orders Beatrice and the others to take a break, but he says, "They're not the kind to snag at this point. I'll do the arrow retrieval now," he said to the vigilante.

"You didn't even make it into a training preparation exercise! I'll retrieve the arrows and the magic crystal stone! But don't let go of your weapon! You have to be ready to head to the fence at all times!" He ordered himself to begin collecting arrows and taiyas scattered throughout the training ground.

After a while, Scott and blacksmith guild clerk Johnny came to the mansion with the distillery craftsmen. It also includes young people coming from all over the country to train, with more than thirty people.

While Johnny says, "I thought it was time to help," he looks around at his surroundings in a chirp. I also see the sight of the Ghosts attacking me like crazy from school and I seem a little frightened.

My grandfather said, "You've come a lot," and then he said, "Help me with the Beatrice ladies. After that, don't carry arrows and tae arrows on the front..."

The distillers are not trained and are not going to let them take part in the fight. Johnny and Scott also knew that if they were on the front line, they would just get in the way, and they offered backwards support.

Kanga Hill has a diameter of 300 meters and an altitude difference of about thirty meters, and just carrying arrows, food, etc. to the front line can be a daunting task. Craftsmen usually did hard work such as floor malting - spreading wheat on the floor to germinate - and barrel packing, and asked to carry supplies because they had no physical problems.

The village of Rasmore hits defense with a total force system.
