Dream Life

Episode 45: Surprise

Tria history October 21, 2018, around midnight.

Three hours have passed since the battle on the barrier began.

Since the enemy is ending up with a force push left to the quantity, it should be reducing the enemy one by one, but surely, without being breached through the fence. From what I've seen, however, it doesn't look like the number of enemies has decreased, hissing outside the fence.

The damage to the Lockhart family side only resulted in a few minor injuries, treated by Elmer and Camilla, the village healers, their son, Jeffrey, and his wife Marie, with no real harm.

No problems have arisen in terms of fatigue, as the defenses of the walls have been replaced in due course. As it stands, my father commands the fence, and my brother takes a break from both the defense of the mansion.

So far, because of the monotony of enemy attacks, me, Liddy, and Sharon's group of magicians are also taking a break in Scotch's vault close to the fence.

What's creepy is that Necromancer (Rich) and Knight Without a Neck (Durahan) are no longer participating in any attacks. Only skeletons (skeletons), corpse-eating ghosts (ghouls), and a handful of living corpses (living dead) come forward foolishly. Haunted Ghost and Necromancer Specter were wiped out in the early annihilation battles, or even invisible.

I was concerned that the enemy might be working on something.

Initially, the enemy has stopped in front of Kanga Hill and has since mounted a total attack. This means that there is a chain of command, albeit undead, and the commander has intelligence. I tried to share that concern with Liddy and Sharon.

"I'm sure it's creepy, but you can't just shoot me out of here, so I'm just gonna have to deal with it now"

Liddy's opinion was that there was only one way to maintain the status quo.

"Sure it is, but it hooks something up," he said.

"This is what happens when you're being attacked. Don't be alarmed. I don't make gaps. I will not fail to prepare. That's about all I can do."

Speaking like a veteran, he took my right hand and laughed, "I can't help it in a hurry," he said.

Liddy's right, all I can do is consolidate my protection and stay alert, but I really care.

"I agree with Lydia, too," Sharon says.

"You're right, I feel like there's some intention. I don't know what it is," he added.

And then he said, "What would you do if Master Zach were your enemy? I've heard."

I'll reconsider that word.

(Though well over thousands of large armies have already defeated hundreds of units of enemies. Rich is talking about being able to produce undead, but not infinitely... as a positive move, what would I do if I were my enemy... if I thought it was a siege battle, ranged attacks with artillery and stone throwers, food attacks, water attacks... Ah! A tunnel!)

I got up unexpectedly.

"What's the matter," Liddy sounds worried, but I don't mind, confirming in a strong tone, "Do you think you can use earthly attribute magic on Rich?"

"The Necromancer (Rich) is an untrained sorcerer's soul. If the original magician could use the earthly attributes, he could use them. What's wrong with that?

Sharon also noticed my concern at the words, "Ah! I said," I opened my eyes.

"If you dig tunnels with soil attribute magic, the walls don't matter! That's right!

I nodded loudly, "I'll tell my uncle about this. You two stay here and wait!," he said, running under his grandfather, who was in command inside the fence.

My grandfather looked suspicious when he saw me rushing in, but he immediately checked to see if he knew what the enemy was up to.

"There is no certainty, but the enemy has a rich. Digging tunnels with earthly attribute magic and possibly breaking in," he tells his concerns quickly.

My grandfather opened his eyes wide,

"It certainly can be. So, I think we should do something," he asked calmly. That calm look brought my head back to calm too.

"I don't know if you can think of me as a criterion, but if you dig a hole through which people can pass, it's thirty meters an hour (melt). Of course, if you dig this much, you'll run out of magic, but I don't know how much undead magic you have."

"It's already been three hours. You mean it's not weird being dug about a hundred melts... is there a way to handle it?

I will desperately put my thoughts around the word.

Normally, if you dig with a wiggle or a scoop, you can tell by the sound, but if it's magical, it hardly makes any noise. There are ways to do ground exploration with ultrasound, etc., but I don't make that kind of magic.

"I can't think of a way to look. Only enough to be constantly alert inside the walls..."

Where my words end or not, my grandfather said, "A decree!" He was screaming.

As soon as the young vigilante of the commanding officer shows up, he will convey the watch and instructions to each squad.

"Tell the Tower Watch and the squadrons what you're about to say. The enemy could dig a tunnel and break in. Trying to be alert not only outside the walls, but inside as well. Let everyone else know right away."

"Let me know as soon as you can think of something else to do," my grandfather said, returning to command.

Around 3am.

I was taking turns with Liddy, who was resting first, and once I got back to the mansion, I was taking a nap. Even so, he's just lying on his sleeping table without removing his protective gear, and he's far from asleep.

Suddenly there, a fierce bell sound called Cancuncan enters my ear.

He jumps up in a hurry, grabs the sword, and immediately jumps out of the mansion.

Outside there is Beatrice, who was equally hypnotized, looking around trying to figure out the situation in the same way.

"What happened? ♪ And when I hear,

"I'm not sure. I think I heard an enemy show up," he answers in the same tone as usual, like a veteran. That voice will calm me down, too.

As the bell sounded, a young preaching came running.

"An enemy has sprung up from the west of the main entrance! Our predecessors have instructed us to deal with Master Beatrice!

Beatrice said, "I understand!," he responds, "Then I'm coming," gently raising the Mithril spear in his right hand.

The message said, "What instructions are you giving me?" When I hear it, "Master Zach says," I mean with waiting at the mansion, "he runs.

If the placement hadn't changed while I was asleep, my grandfather would have taken command of the whole thing near the reservoir, catering to the undead that my father constantly breaks in on the eastern barrier, and my brother would be waiting in Scotch's reservoir.

The squire has Nicholas Garland at the main entrance, Byron Seedorf at the east wall, Enos Vassel at the school defense, Hector Marron and Guy Jakes waiting near the vault with the Archers squad, and Will Keegan taking a break while defending the mansion.

We, Zachsextedt, me and Beatrice are taking a break, Dan and Liddy are at the main entrance, Sharon and Mel are joining the defense of the East Wall.

When I look outside the mansion at the main entrance, I see Nicholas slashing and laying down the skeleton. Looking further south, the undead appear to be waiting for the main entrance to open, even outside the main entrance.

(Again, the enemy general has a reasonable idea. I wish I had one tunnel, but it would be a pain in the ass if they dug a bunch of them... maybe I should crush Rich even if I can't...)

Even so, the command of my grandfather, the commander, is on standby here, unable to move. Standing outside the mansion in frustration, a large fire column stood at the main entrance.

"Volcano!" I was screaming out of the blue. And he runs to the main gate in defiance of his grandfather's orders.

Volcano is the magic of continuous flames erupting from the ground with high fire attribute magic. Its columns blow up to about twenty meters high at about five meters in diameter, before falling to the ground like flowers bloom. The flames were mixed with red-hot fountains, pouring down on vigilantes guarding the main entrance.

The bright red firepillar suddenly disappears in about thirty seconds.

But many vigilantes had fallen around it.

Reaching the main entrance in about a minute, it's hot as a blacksmith, with the groans of vigilantes. About twenty meters west, Beatrice and Nicholas hold down the undead as they come out of a hole about three meters in diameter.

Above the main gate, Liddy and Dan were attacking the undead as they unleashed arrows and pushed over.

Careless but exhaling a breath of relief. I thanked God that Liddy and Dan were not involved in an earlier attack, but I know that is dishonest behavior towards falling vigilantes.

I dared ignore the groaning vigilante and was headed for the hole where the undead gushed out.

All I have to do is prevent enemy magic. Volcano's range is only about fifty meters, indicating that Ricci is approaching that distance.

Perhaps Rich, who dug the hole, should have unleashed magic from the back of the hole, and the only way to defeat that rich is to enter the hole or defeat it with magic. There is no option to enter the hole in a situation where the enemy springs up continuously, and we just have to magically defeat it.

"Block this hole! Just buy me ten seconds! Those behind us move around not to be the magical targets of the enemy!

On my instructions, Beatrice, without asking why, told his men, "Protect Zach! He ordered."

Without responding to it, he immediately casts a magical spell of earthly attributes.

"Supporting all the earth, God of the earth (Reams). Give me your incarnation, your stubborn rock wall. I do not give my life to you. Rock Wall"

With the completion of that spell, the hole is blocked so that the rock lid, about five meters in diameter, slides.

Some undead tried to crawl out of the gap, but the rock lid blocked the hole as he pushed the undead away.

You can hear a rock pounding from under the rock lid called Katsunkatsun, but a rock about fifty centimeters thick is not even frightening. Further, the surrounding soil is turned into rock by the magic of stone production (stone creation).

In the meantime too, Volcano's magic was unleashed behind me, but the vigilantes who were waiting in front of the main entrance were also moving around, and there are no one left to sacrifice the magic unleashed on the dark clouds.

"There's got to be Rich in the hole. I'll tailor him," and I'll drill a hole about ten centimeters in diameter into a rock I made myself.

Furthermore, the lid is placed by hand in the hole, and the wood attribute magically pours in flammable gas.

"A great tree god (Albor) who made the woods. Give me the wind that is born and burns from your" Ommi ". I don't give my life for the price. Come out, flaming gas."

Momentum is emitted from the right hand in the hole and enters the hole.

The image of this magically produced flammable gas is methane gas, which is produced by decomposition by microorganisms. Methane itself is odorless, but because it imagines decomposition by rot, it has a slight rotten odor.

"Blow the enemy in the tunnel all at once! Stay away from the hole!," commands Beatrice and Nicholas.

High-pressure gas moves into the hole.

Behind me the Volcano magic activated again. Again, the enemy doesn't seem to see this situation, and the firepillar is up where no one else is.

He allowed it to continue for about a minute, let go of his hand where he determined it was fully full, and let go of the flaming arrow (flame arrow) towards the hole from about ten meters away.

The moment the arrow of fire enters the hole, a heavy noise called Dawn sounds and shakes the ground slightly. The rock lid rose for a moment, but withstood without blowing away.

From the top of the main entrance, Liddy said, "There's a fire column going up about 100 meters away!," he exclaims, cheering from the vigilante at the words.

Without responding to that cheer, I said, "Gather the wounded! Liddy, I need you to turn to therapy, too! shouted," and caught a further transmission,

"Contact your uncle. Enemies in the tunnel are eliminated. Many injured at the main entrance. Zacharias and Lydiane hit the wounded. Tell him so," I command, and I will treat the wounded.

Ten of the twenty vigilantes who were in front of the main entrance had been directly hit by the magic of the first Volcano. The other ten have also suffered burns and bruises as a result of the eruption.

Of the members of the vigilante who were directly hit, five were already out of stock and five were on the verge of death. "I can't do this," Liddy says, shaking her head sideways.

I hang the healing magic and say, "I'll heal to some extent. Then hang an extra healing magic on me," he asks, continuing to treat a burnt young man.

About a minute each, but the fifth young man ran out of my magic in time.

Six young men scattered their lives. This was the first casualty in this battle.

I notice my grandfather standing behind me after rough treatment.

"I ignored the order. I'm sorry," he bows his head and reports, "there are fourteen seriously injured and six killed in action.

"As a judgment of the field commander, I'm not wrong in this judgment," my grandfather said, putting his hand on my shoulder and saying, "These brave men will do something about it. It will be hard, but you must give priority to restoring magic," he said, ordering Nicholas to evacuate the seriously wounded.

I know all the vigilantes, including the young men who died in this war. I remember making fun noises at a liquor review six months ago. I am shocked that such an acquaintance lost his life, but now I try not to think about it.

(You can protect the village and then grieve. Now the only thing I can do is not to lose their sacrifice...)

Behind me, Liddy and Beatrice were staring at me worried.

"I'm fine. Now the enemy won't be picking up tunnel operations either. I don't know how many undead there were in the hundred-melt tunnel, but I showed them the means to take them down at once."

Still, to the two worried expressions, "I'm resting in the tasting room in the vault. Well, I might just have a little drink, but keep that to yourself," he laughs and raises his hand.

When Liddy said, "Well, I'm coming with you to restore my magic. I don't get my hands on Scotch though," he laughed, and Beatrice also said, "I don't drink too much. Because the blacksmiths would come by and it would be a banquet," he laughed.
