Dream Life

Episode 46: The Creepy Movement of the Enemy

Tria history October 21, 2018, around 6: 00 am.

There are no thick clouds until yesterday and the sky is clear and clear. Looking east, Aquila's top is starting to shine in the morning sun.

The night of intense fighting is about to dawn in the village of Rasmore.

Fighting with the dying (undead), which began around 9: 00 last night, continued through the night. After midnight, he was ambushed by a tunnel made by the Necromancer (Rich), but since then, he has not done much damage just by climbing the fence foolishly.

The enemies defeated are the skeleton Skeleton and the corpse-eating ghost Ghoul, which are mainly miscellaneous fish, but their numbers have already exceeded a thousand, and their remains piled inside the fence. Of course, the magic crystal stone is recovered to avoid resurrection.

Though there was vision enhancement, the distance could not be ascertained in the dark, but as it became brighter, the size of the enemy was known.

Not only were the herds of undead filling the eastern meadows, but they continued further across the pond to the back of the woods. More than five thousand just to be confirmed, most of them skeletons, but a desperate number for the Lasmore Village Village vigilante with only three hundred.

We're just being attacked from one place now, but if we leave it to the quantity and get attacked from multiple places, it would be only a matter of time before we get broken into here in Kanga Hill.

I don't know the full extent of the enemy, but the number I can see now alone has had enough effect to demoralize the vigilante. On the fence is a young vigilante poking his knee and leaking a whimper at the overwhelming number of enemies.

In the meantime, his grandfather, Govan, the commander-in-chief of the Lockhart family, was scolding disheartening vigilantes.

"You've defeated more than a thousand enemies in one night! No matter how much it takes, you have nothing to fear!

Though I snort at my grandfather's words, when I see the creepy figure of the undead approaching me quietly, my hopes will still disappear, and there is no shadow to see the high morale until last night.

My father and brother hang words of encouragement just like my grandfather, but they were almost ineffective.

The decline in morale soon emerged as a negative effect.

Young vigilantes began to make mistakes in the battle on the fence. I'm supposed to work with the same squad to push enemies inward, but I can't fight like I did in the middle of the night, slashing them into enemies by myself for nothing, or on the other hand, lowering them by just one.

I shrugged at the situation without thinking it was "unsavory". Beatrice, who was next door, also looks sinister and seems to feel that this situation is dangerous.

"Can't you do something about it? You're going to destroy yourself like this," Beatrice whispered.

"I wish I had visible results... shoot in flashy magic or kick out enemies with a handful..."

Although the Village of Rasmore vigilantes are only at a high level of soldiers, they have no experience in group warfare. The lack of experience leads to weakness in adversity.

But even when it comes to raising morale, I believe that a magical attack is ineffective. It is pain-resistant, be it ghoul or skeleton, and it does not retreat even if part of the body is defective. You need to crush your head or tear it apart to destroy it for sure, and Range Attack Magic makes it look like it didn't work for you just to hurt you halfway through it. In fact, even the magic of the meteorological rain (meatier shower) unleashed by Liddy does not show any noticeable effect.

When that happens, the Lockhart family's elites should slash into the enemy and kick it, making him realize that this one is more warriorly superior.

I took this proposal to my grandfather, who immediately rejected it.

"Anyone who is frightened of the situation to this extent will not change no matter what they show. If you're at a disadvantage, you'll be scared in no time."

"You may be right, but isn't this situation not good? In fact, there's been a small failure, Miss."

To my point, my grandfather made a sinister surface and nodded, but he struck out this topic by saying, "I hope Noona and I hold the reins tightly."

I can understand what my grandfather is trying to say. As long as we can overcome this adversity, we will see a winning chance. But it is also true that the defense plan could be broken as it stands.

At 7 a.m., I went back to the mansion for breakfast. Liddy, Sharon and Mel are back, too, and they're going to talk about my concerns over breakfast.

"Govi's right. It's easy spiritually to come if you're protecting it, but it's no use doing anything to get here to this extent," Liddy agrees with his grandfather.

"I don't know, but I think we just need to think about defeating the enemy in front of us," Mel replies samurai-like, "we just have to do what our predecessors said," to the point.

Except for Sharon. I kept my mouth shut for a while, but I started talking to Seo Momouro.

"You have a lot of enemies and you're scared..." he tells you to check the facts one by one.

"Right," I nodded,

"But it's true that the number of enemies is high, and you can't change it," he cuts the words and opens his mouth again with a slightly lost face.

"I don't know what to say," he says and looks at Mel.

"What is Mel fighting for?" I hear.

Mel said, "To protect everyone. Isn't that obvious?," he answers, tilting his neck. Sharon nodded, "Yeah," and turned to me.

"I think the same goes for the vigilantes. He said he was fighting to protect his family. I can't say it well, but if I remember that, I can't say I might lose..."

I somehow understand what Sharon is trying to say.

She seems to want to say that we just need to remind vigilantes once again of the significance of this defense and that there is no other way out than to win.

"I know what you're trying to say. If I do realize I can't protect my family if I'm scared, I'll be desperate. Besides, we don't have to keep protecting it forever. If Sim gets to the barbecue, the Royal Kaum Army will come to the rescue. It should be enough to remember that. I'll ask your uncle or father to speak."

As soon as I finished breakfast, I started acting. I just got my father back, so I'll tell him what I'm talking about.

My father said, "Okay," he nodded loudly,

"Let's tell the villagers, not just the vigilantes. He said that if he endured for seven days, reinforcements would come," and as soon as he drew in his breakfast, he headed for the fence.

Hardness had disappeared from the vigilante's movements as to whether his father's speech had done his job. Many young vigilantes in particular had young children, and seemed to think of the face of a toddler in the words of protecting his family.

The motivated vigilantes obeyed his grandfather's orders and definitely defeated the undead.

Things have hardly changed in the afternoon.

The vigilantes are rotating and giving them a break in due course, burying the undead almost like routine work.

Soldiers just need to focus on defeating the enemy in front of them, but we, the Lockhart family, have to figure out how the enemy moves.

Operational meetings have been held with the men of the Lockhart family, with the addition of non-Hector Marron and Will Keegan squires who command on the fence, plus Beatrice and Sharon. By the way, Liddy, Mel and Dan are fighting with the Hectors on the fence.

"I really care about the enemy's movements. hit me with a hand other than a tunnel," my grandfather cut out, and my father nodded heavily, too,

"I'm also concerned that I don't see Rich or Durahan," he agrees.

Byron Seedorf, who has the most experience in these defensive battles, began to speak in a harsh tone.

"My experience is with only demonic opponents, but it just seems like I'm up to something. There is only one odd way to succeed in a battle like this. If you break some of the guard, the guard will collapse just like you hit an avalanche."

"Sure, but I don't think I have any more hands to hit than I don't know what that oddity is," remarks brother Rodrick.

A lot of opinions are then given, but we can only conclude that we have no choice but to do as we have always done than not know the enemy's intentions.

In the meantime, Sharon raised his hand with an uncle, and his grandfather said, "Do you have any opinions? Whatever. Would you say what I thought," I said and allowed myself to speak.

"Isn't the enemy trying to make you look east? That's what happened in the tunnel... and the enemy's aim is to kill Mr. Luna. So you should be after this mansion. I think the only way to aim directly is through a tunnel, but maybe we have other hands."

Indeed, the enemy's aim is the elimination of Luna. For example, the ultimate goal will be this Lockhart Mansion. Digging the tunnel will take more than a dozen hours, even though Rich, a high-ranking magician.

"Sharon's right. I think I'm gonna poke a gap and come after this place, too. Zach, what would you do?

Beatrice has been telling the story. My grandfather and father will ask for my opinion with their eyes.

"I think the possibility of a tunnel operation still exists today. I don't know if the enemy has any idea what this power is, but you know it's at least a handful. If you think you can crush Rich, a powerful demon, I think it would be effective to cut this battle a little bit."

"I don't think there are dozens of demons as good as Rich's, but when they do do do that, there's no way I can hit them with my hands," my father mutters.

"You're right, Father, but I was wondering if you'd try another way, not the way you failed first"

"What's another way?" My grandfather has confirmed it instantly.

"The most effective way to attack a strong defensive castle or fort is to create an inside responder. If I'm the enemy, I'll do it first."

"There is no such thing as betraying my Lockhart family. And, of course, in this village," my father denies with a blatant look.

I nodded loudly, but pointed out another possibility.

"Of course no one will betray you voluntarily. But the other party is dominated by demons of dark attributes. Naturally, you should think you can use dark attribute magic. Because I think it's very likely that they're going to use mind-manipulative magic."

Everyone is stunned by my words and Byron, convinced as soon as possible, speaks.

"It was rumored that the Demons use magic that manipulates people's hearts. For example, it wouldn't be strange if the enemy could do the same."

Research on the Demon Nation has not progressed, and almost everyone can say that there is no information, but there were rumors that the Demon Nation uses cursely magic because suddenly they die trying to extract very much information from their captives.

Also, just as magical objects exist, like collars of slaves for slavery, dark attribute magic has something to do with forcing people to act in disregard of their will. In fact, I can use magic like hypnosis, too.

"Sharon would be right to point our consciousness to the east. What do you think we should do about it?"

That's what my grandfather said and asked me how.

"Let's have a pair (two-man cells) of orders acting alone. I don't want to be confused with the wrong information. I think we're fine because we're wearing Mithril's protective gear, but we'll be constantly worried about our men's behavior."

Assuming a battle against the Demons, the commanding squire is forced to wear Missrill-backed gear or Missrill-backed gear. For this reason, there is little concern that dark attribute magic will be used by commanders.

In fact, Mithril's anti-magic effects are ample even in thin films, so my level, or mage's mental attacks of about level fifty, hardly work. Of course, I can't be more optimistic than I don't know the level of the enemy, but at least I should be able to buy enough time to resist.

If there is anxiety, the average vigilante just wearing normal protective gear will be manipulated. Caution should be exercised because the chain of command will be disrupted, especially if the transmission or lookout conveys incorrect information. I don't think my enemies have the most knowledge of intelligence warfare, so maybe I'm overthinking it.

"Don't you have to think about the people in the village who are in school being manipulated? I feel like I should tell your wife," Sharon suggests.

Sharon's concerns are best, but it's not a good idea to stir up anxiety at all.

"Regardless of the talk of dark attribute magic, why not encourage caution not to be alone as much as possible? I don't know if the enemy will make it that far, but I'm sure you've never crossed the line to keep an eye out."

As a result of the operational meeting, it was decided to make vigilantes thorough not to act alone and, furthermore, to keep an eye on attacks by tunnels. Asylum-seekers were also informed to avoid acting alone as much as possible.

I would also suggest consolidating the mansion's defenses.

"After that, you're going to consolidate the protection of the Mansion more than you do now. Dear uncle, if someone from Walt, Nicholas, or Beatrice keeps this place safe, I'm sure the enemy can handle it."

"I don't think so," my grandfather nods. All four of the men I've just raised are fierce men of Level 60 or higher. They are all equipped with excellent weapons and can be defeated without bitterness if they are demons equivalent to the third level.

But the enemy has hit me first.
