Dream Life

Lesson 47: The Next Hand of the Enemy

Tria history October 21, 2018, around 7pm.

It is the second night since the arrival of the undead.

Just like yesterday, we distribute the magic props of the lights to the barrier, and the searchlight constantly moves from the tower for air defense to alert the perimeter, but still the enemy's attacks are only from the eastern barrier, and no tunnel operation has been carried out that concerns us.

In the meantime, two young vigilantes rushed under their grandfather, who was in command on the eastern fence.

"There were traces of someone breaking into the northern barrier!

When asked for more information, they found traces of vigilantes crawling up a moat over the fence as they looked around the north wall.

"There were wet footprints on the wall. When we found it, there was no sign of the surroundings, we tried to follow in the footsteps, but we lost sight where we headed to the grazing land…"

When his grandfather nodded with a bitter worm-bitten look, he issued an order to his surroundings.

"The enemy has broken in! Nicholas! I'll take command of the fence! The others split up and look for the demon that broke in! Don't act alone! If you find anyone suspicious, blow the siren!

Fighting on the fence continued as always, and in addition to the mansion, there was a need to divide people between the school and the guarding of the main entrance. The search was to be conducted by about fifty members of the vigilante group who were at the mansion.

Beatrice's squad, a sharp beast with a sense of smell, follows in the footsteps, while others explore the enemy around the mansion.

I think in case I stay in the mansion as Luna's escort. Sharon, who is not very good at melee combat, is also here, not joining the search in the dark.

A jittery time passes.

Thirty minutes have passed since we began our search, but we can't hear the whistle saying we've discovered an intruding enemy.

"Is it still Mr. Luna's purpose," Sharon opens his mouth as he couldn't stand the silence.

"I think the ultimate aim is yes. But he thinks he's more likely to come after another place."

Sharon asks me, staring at my face, "What does that mean?"

"Footprints are for two. In this case, it should be for two... climbing the wall after entering the moat is a relatively physically capable person. Perhaps Durahan, or a demon like the gray monkey Gray Ape, is being manipulated."

"Don't you have to think about the possibilities of other demons? Some unknown demons my brother saw..."

"Now you don't have to think about the demons in the black cape that Dan saw. Liddy says he sees the power of a disastrous dark spirit in the undead, so he should probably be there. Later, demons like Shadow Assassins (Shadow Assassins) who just hear rumors will be able to cross the fence without going into the moat. So it means you're not that powerful a demon. Of course, it's not positive."

I suspect this is a positive thing.

As a Lockhart family, I assume that the enemy will come after Luna, so that one of the four grandfathers, Walt, Nicholas and Beatrice, will defend this place with a break. This means that fierce men of level sixty and above will always be protecting them. I still have Walt besides me, and it's perfectly fine to be more than one if it's about Durahan.

If the purpose of the enemy's invasion is Luna's assassination, the opposite would be helpful. If you dare to make the mansion look less secure and attract intruders, Walt, me and Sharon can destroy the enemy.

Conversely, it would be troublesome if the enemy's purpose was not here, but a positive move to break through the fence.

An intruding enemy can buy time if he hides himself somewhere. This one, on the other hand, is joined by vigilantes who are supposed to take a break, so only fatigue will accumulate.

Originally this one is overwhelmingly less powerful than the enemy. Besides, it is very dangerous to prolong it any longer because it maintains a front in critical condition. An hour or two won't be a problem, but if you continue for a few hours, it will greatly hamper our ability to continue fighting.

(I didn't expect to be scratched around by just two demons... a long fence has been avenged. But the enemy is always in the lead. I'm pretty sure he's the same person with the same thoughts as us. Just in case, you might want to think of a way to regenerate death...)

With that in mind, I heard a sharp siren called Pea. Apparently, we found an intruding enemy.

Waiting long enough, Beatrice came back willing.

"It was an undead gray ape. I took both of them, so I'm relieved."

Exhale a breath of relief into the unfolding almost as expected.

"Good day. Where were those guys headed?

"I was hiding near the school. The grazing livestock made a scene, so I knew it."

After all, the enemy hangs to take this stamina. I had a sense of crisis in my enemy's rational tactics.

(How much does the enemy know about this situation? It doesn't taste good to be fully aware of the situation here...)

With ghosts (ghosts) and necromancers (specters) breaking into Kanga Hill, we assumed that we were somewhat familiar with this battle force and manning. Especially if you are noticed that there are fewer combatants than the size of the fence, you may be forced into an even more intense wear and tear battle.

And I had another concern. That was lurking near a place where there were a lot of non-combatants called schools. There is no problem if you simply say it is in your favor of hiding yourself, but it would be very troublesome if the enemy were aiming at the school with the intention of further disruption.

I expressed my opinion to my father.

"It's possible they're after school. As a precaution, I think you should check to see if there are any other intrusions besides the two."

The fatigue of those who hit the search is further increased, but the belly cannot be replaced on the back.

My father took my suggestion and let me search the Kanga Hill for another hour. But no trace of the enemy is found, and the defense system is undone.

Thereafter, fighting on the eastern fence continued as usual, but the night went on without the situation changing.

When the date was changed, there was a small fire "Boya" noise at the school. Fortunately, soon the fire was extinguished and only part of the school building had to be burned down, but it was a place of no fire and suspected arson.

The suspicion of insiders intensified when a suspicious fire broke out. Once the suspicious demon within the vanished vigilante brings his head back. Fathers and squires try to quench anxiety, but the presence of an invisible enemy erodes the minds of vigilante members.

About an hour after the Boya noise, there was a new incident.

There was a fire in the food vault behind the school.

This fire was also reinforcing patrol security, so it could be discovered relatively early on and did not come to the forefront, but this ensured that the enemy was breaking in.

My father was distressed by the response.

In addition to strengthening the school's defenses, an investigation was initiated into whether anyone was acting suspiciously. However, no powerful information is found and only suspicion grows.

"Can't do something about it, Zach," my father has said that feeling like he was in trouble.

That doesn't mean I have a name for myself. It is likely that the fact that no suspicious appearance has been found is not the one who looked like a demon like earlier. Then there's the possibility that someone on the Lockhart family side is being manipulated by dark attribute magic.

But I can't think of the means to find the one being manipulated. I drop my shoulder disappointed when I tell my father about it.

(How did you hang the magic when it came to manipulating with dark attributes magic? At least there are no signs of magic being used on the east fence, and the enemies who can use magic are not approaching the fence in the first place... I can't think of any betrayal, so it has been manipulated for a long time or has someone impersonated it...)

We will sort out the situation further.

(... there is no line that says it has been manipulated for a long time. If you can do that, you can use the villagers to assassinate Luna. So the line that you've been impersonating lately... is suspicious when the Undead Gray Ape broke in earlier? If the invasion of Gray Ape was for this measure... if it was a demon that could change its appearance, it would be around the vampire Vampire, Double Shadow Demon Doppelgenger. That could be enough......)

I'm going to tell Liddy and Beatrice what I came up with. Because we are both veteran adventurers and familiar with demonic ecology.

When I finished talking, Beatrice had a crease between her eyebrows.

"... if it's undead, it's suspicious around vampires. They can change their appearance, and the sky can fly. And it's easy to start a fire because you can use magic."

Liddy nods, but thinks a little.

"Sure, if we could use Rich, maybe we could use Vampires, but vampires, unlike Rich, would have had feelings close to humans. Could it be that easy to use? Besides, you won't be out in the daytime, so why don't you just notice right away?

Vampires in this world are close to what is said in the original world. I rarely act during the day because I do not extinguish myself in the sunlight, but I hate the sunlight extremely much. By the way, unlike the Counts of Eastern Europe, garlic and crosses are ineffective and can be defeated without having to punch a pile into the heart.

"You sure do. But if Doppelgenger switched with someone, it wouldn't be easy to find them."

The double shadow demon Doppelgenger is a kind of undead, a demon that captures the figure of a person. In doing so, they are said to copy voices, tricks, and even memories. Since it is a very rare demon, it is unclear how far it is actually true, but the material that was in the great library of the academic city of Doctus contained such a description.

I wish I could touch it and check it out with my reference skills, but it takes too long, and I'm not sure I can discern Doppelgenger with my reference skills.

"Isn't the magic of Purifying Prefiction working? Doppelgenger is a demon of dark attributes. I will always react to light attribute magic. Besides, it's harmless to normal people, so you just have to hang on to everyone here."

Liddy's suggestion is good.

The magic of purification is the magic that purifies and extinguishes the phantom undead, but the undead, the dark attribute, does not like the light attribute, which is anti-attribute even for those with entities. The more the magic of purification continues to hang in skeletons and ghouls, the more you can defeat it.

Since the most powerful magic of purification is not so powerful, it takes time to extinguish the undead, but still try to avoid it reflexively when subjected to the light of purification, whether the defensive instinct works.

Suggest to my grandfather and father the search for undead by the magic of purification.

"... the premise is that there are people impersonating you, but you'd rather do it than not"

"Is magic okay? Your magic is our trump card," my father says, "but I shake my head to the side.

"The magic of purification doesn't use so much magic. There is also a wide range of magic, so you can confirm many people at once…"

In fact, because the magic of purification imagines ultraviolet sterilization, the magic of lighting and the magic it consumes are little different. It's just changing the properties of light into something the undead don't like. For this reason, it consumes so little magic that it is not comparable to range attack magic.

My grandfather admitted, "It's painful but unavoidable to doubt my side," and my father also admitted, "If we're all going to feel safe, we should do it".

We were to gather the members of the vigilante during the break and hang the magic of purification. Of course, the reasons will be explained in advance.

"If this magic is impersonating the undead, you'll see. Plus, you can wipe out demons of the Dark Class. Light and dark attributes are theoretically possible because they revolt."

I dare add that the part about being able to extinguish demons. It's actually difficult in a short time, but I don't know how powerful it is for the enemy.

As far as the actions of the vigilantes are concerned, no one is unwilling as a puppet. Even if you are being manipulated, you are likely to be acting at your own discretion. If that assumption is correct, I might try to respond to my words and avoid the magic of purification.

It would be to the point of making money if you were in a hurry on your own, but it would be better than not doing it.

I hung the magic of purification on about thirty vigilantes, but no one complained of any particular anomaly. Next I tried magic on the squad on school defense.

The squad leader is Enos Vassel, and all thirty vigilantes will be aligned by his decree.

"I think I've already heard the explanation, but this is just a confirmation. Without pain, it's not painful. Get some light for a little while."

That's what I'm going to say and cast a spell. Just before the magic was complete, one young man moved slightly. Just to hide in the shadow of the man next door.

I didn't miss it. He moves slowly in the light, changing the angle so that it hits that young Tony.

Then Tony suddenly ran out. My grandfather noticed it and said, "Capture that person!" When ordered, Enos hooks his leg on the stone side of the chase spear.

Tony is taken off his leg and falls, but still pulls out his sword to see if he intends to resist. But he wasn't Enos' enemy, and when he met a few times, he was lightly sword-blown, and in the meantime he was captured by vigilantes who were surrounding him.

My grandfather has ordered me to use magic with my eyes, so I will hang the magic of purification again. Now increase the intensity of the purification more than earlier, and the ghost will make it strong enough to be extinguished in about thirty seconds.

Tony, who receives the light of purification, peels out his teeth and resists, but is restrained by three members and unable to move. If the light continues to shine for about ten seconds, the resistance becomes even more intense. The three of us can't contain it anymore, and the two of us hold back their legs.

Even though he resisted violently, his appearance began to change gradually. At first it felt like a young man in the country about twenty years old, but his face changed to flash on old and young, various faces, and at the end it was just contoured like a mannequin with no face painted. The height, which was about one hundred and eighty centimeters, has shrunk by nearly ten centimeters.

Stop the magic where the resistance has subsided.

I hear my grandfather say, "What kind of demon is this?" in a loose voice. That's the Lion Heart. Govan seems to have lost his temper to this unusual demon.

I touched the demon and used the "see” skill.

What came to my mind was the letter "Double Shadow Demon" Doppelgenger ".

"Looks like a doppelgenger. I've never seen the real thing either...... what do you do with this guy?

Confirm to my grandfather and father the treatment of demons.

"I think we should interrogate... is that possible?" My father has checked in confusion.

I wasn't sure, but I said, "Let's do it" and interrogate him. I'm not sure if I'm losing my mind or waking up without a look on my face, but I still call out that I'll have intelligence.

"Do you hear me?" Slightly mobile "Mijiro" gu.

"What happened to Tony, the person you photographed? I'll say," but I won't say anything. I have no idea if I can talk or if I'm unwilling to talk if I haven't photographed him.

Interrogate information about the size of enemy forces and the demons they lead, but do not answer at all. When I started casting spells trying to hear it in the dark attribute magical hypnosis, Doppelgenger's appearance began to change again.

The figure was an old man with deep wrinkles engraved, like a mage with bright white hair and a mustache. In the meantime, for just about five seconds, it looked different, like CG Computer Graphics, and everyone was losing their words.

"You all die. And you will be a member of his family just like me..."

That's all I said in my squeamish voice, and I begin to cast a spell, "O god of darkness (Noctis) who governs all darkness..."

My grandfather, who felt in danger, put a sword through Doppelgenger's neck, causing the spell to be interrupted.

The demon in the face of the old man peels off his white eyes and is out of breath, returning once again to just the contour of the puppet he is about to make.

Because it's so different from the battles I've been through, even my grandfather in the war doesn't get any words inside. And after about ten seconds of silence, he said, "Zach, what do you think of this?," he asked.

"Probably broke in with Undead's Gray Ape. I was wondering if Gray Ape was a haulier and a sneaker and lurked around the school. The purpose will be to fatigue us and poke at Luna."

My grandfather says "um" and nods, but his expression is not excellent. Advise on what should be done in a calm tone whenever possible in order to lighten up my grandfather's anxiety at all.

"At least we can prevent Doppelgenger from breaking in. I'm curious what happened to Tony, but now you'd better see if there's anything else in it."

My grandfather nods loudly, "Well, I didn't know we were going to fight this kind of enemy... it's not a hassle," he mutters.

Afterwards, confirmation was made of all, including women and children who were already asleep. Fortunately, there was nothing but a doppelgenger dressed as Tony.

(It's not your word, but it's a nasty enemy. They use intrusions by tunnels followed by psychological attacks. I don't know what I'm going to do next... it'll take five days for reinforcements to arrive. No, can you win when reinforcements come? The only information Sims conveys is information that the undead is more than a thousand. Worst of all, only about 500 soldiers could be dispatched. If that happens, it will be payback......)

Then Tony was found. He looked safe, but he hung the dark attribute magic sleep Sleep and was unconscious.

I woke him up with the magic of state recovery (recovery), but I'm not sure why he just let him sleep. My imagination is that the only thing that didn't kill me was putting Doppelgenger to sleep so he wouldn't be suspicious when he replaced yet another person.

When I checked with him about the situation, he had lost his memory when he was hanging the magic of sleep on his way home from the bathroom by himself, and I didn't know the details.

Enemy attacks intensified at the border when Doppelgenger was discovered.

Enemies began to mount not only on the eastern barrier, but also near the southern main gate and even the northern barrier.

His grandfather placed hundreds of soldiers in each of those three places and commanded his father and brother to direct him.

At this time, the curtain of a real death battle with the undead opened.
