Dream Life

Episode 45: Agent Sharon: Previous

The morning of February 4th.

Leaving my hangover brother in the inn, I go to see Wills Spencer, Branch Manager of the Commercial Guild, and his rival, Danny Clark.

The day before yesterday, Bart Robbins of the Robbins Chamber of Commerce was asked to make a prior commitment (appointment) to meet with him and both of them.

Mr. Spencer has been told that the purpose of the interview is to gather information about Zach's brewing and finding ingredients, giving the reason that if the Spencer Chamber of Commerce strands the world, Zach may find new alcoholic ingredients and ingredients that he does not know.

I plan to see Mr. Clark afterwards, but this one honestly tells him I want you to cooperate because I'm on Mr. Spencer's guard.

When I joined Mr. Burt at the Robbins Chamber of Commerce, I headed straight for the Spencer Chamber of Commerce, which was about two hundred meters (melt) away.

"Mr. Spencer responds well to the person who becomes a business, but he also says that he sometimes goes out under high pressure against those who don't, especially the understated. Luckily, my shop deals with Mr. Spencer's, so I can usually hang out with him, but I don't know what you're thinking on the inside, Jen..."

I was listening to Mr. Burt and thinking about the meeting after this.

What I organized was information from Viscount Radford, Mr. Burt, and Deputy Director Brennan of the Mage's Guild.

That information showed that it was the Prince Leopold who was more dangerous than the Crown Prince. This is what Master Zach had also said before entering Imperial Capital, but I was convinced by the information I got yesterday.

(It is of the utmost importance to know what the Spencer Branch Manager intends to do. You told me you needed the right information to make the right decision...)

Prince Leopold is dangerous because he is likely to embark on an adventure.

So far, the story of the Crown Prince's abolition is only at rumor level, and the Crown Prince hasn't made a big difference in his war with Lukes. If the emperor falls in this situation, the dream of Prince Leopold becoming emperor will not be fulfilled.

This means we need to set it up at the earliest possible time.

That said, more dangerous is Crown Prince Gigismund.

The Duke of Ingolslop, the leader of his faction, is a conservative figure, so he should be aiming to maintain the status quo, but the Crown Prince could do something to the Lockhart family on a whim with the type of movement left to his emotions. I think it's especially dangerous not to be fooled by women.

I desperately figured out a way to seal the Crown Prince's movements while driving the Leopold prince faction, looking at notes that organized the information.

Then, reaching a conclusion, he decided to ask Mr. Wills Spencer, Branch Manager of the Commercial Guild, to dance.

The Spencer Chamber of Commerce was a splendid building facing the boulevard, with a number of tables lined up for use in business talks once inside. All of them were lustrously polished and so superior that they were likely to be thousands of kronas at one table.

As soon as Mr. Burt speaks to someone from the Chamber of Commerce, he is led to the reception room in the back.

They arrive long enough in advance of the promised time and are only to be waited for a little while in the reception room. The time was used to observe the reception room.

The wall of the reception room is affixed with a large map of the Tria continent, and the sideboard is lined with beautiful crafts.

(It feels like a lot of Sartooth and Lux stuff. I also have Jill Sole stuff... it seems like it's really handy...)

In about five minutes Mr Spencer came with a young woman who looked like a secretary. Mr. Spencer is fat enough and his stomach is sticking out big. The face with small round glasses is smiling and at first glance it feels so casual that it looks like a grocery store owner with good people.

"Have I kept you waiting," he said, offering me his right hand.

"My name is Virus Spencer. It is an honor to meet the fiancée of the famous Sir Zacharias Lockhart."

I immediately took that right hand,

"Thank you for responding to our sudden visit. My name is Sharon, daughter of Guy Jakes, a servant of the Lockhart family."

I smile back at my name, but I felt like I was thinking of something else behind those eyes.

"Lord Robbins is asking about your business today. Anything, like part of Sir Zacharias' search for ingredients."

"Yes, I heard the biggest trader in Teito is your company. It handles property from all over the world, and you can get anything from Sartooth in the north to Jillthor in the south."

I laugh at my words, "Anything is a big deal," but I don't laugh at the eyes behind my glasses.

"Master Zacharias is interested in ingredients from Sartooth and Zirsole, which are difficult to obtain in Periclitle and Ars. We would like to see what we have today and use it as a reference for later negotiations."

To my words Mr. Spencer signals the secretary and receives several sheets of paper.

"After I spoke to you yesterday, I put it together in advance. Take a look at this. What you get in Sartooth..."

That's what I'm going to say. I'm going to point and explain the list. Well-preserved ingredients lined the north with salted fish and dried herbs and mushrooms.

"... is what this neighborhood deals with in our Chamber of Commerce, how about it?

"It's great! Some of these Dwarf blacksmiths are going to be happy."

"The blacksmiths' preferences are better known to the Lockhart family, but say anything we can help you with"

That word says, "Thank you!," he replied as thrilled, "So may I have this list?" and act to sound innocent.

Without noticing my act, Mr. Spencer said, "Of course," and handed it to me.

I am relieved in my heart that things are going well so far as I receive paper.

Without Mr. Spencer being alarmed, he succeeded in making us think that, on the contrary, it would be a thread of commerce to the blacksmiths.

But I get back in the mood that it's the real deal from here.

"So many deals, you have a lot of ships."

"No, not so much. Some ships are company-owned, but we may also entrust transportation to suppliers specializing in transport."

"So you have branches all over the world. Where is it?

I still look at you like an innocent child here.

It's a level act that I think would pull off if my brother or Mel saw me, and I think it would be embarrassing and boring if I remembered later.

"Yes, there are several outposts in the port of the Nord Sea, as well as Rauls, king's capital of Sartooth. There are also about ten other branches in the Kingdom of Lax in addition to the King's capital, Fonce…"

That's what I'm going to tell you, pointing to the map on the wall and explaining it.

"That's great. Dear Zacharias has always said that you want to travel in many places. Because there are so many things you can't get without going to the land."

"You're right."

"The Dwarf blacksmiths were festived in the village of Rasmore, but many ingredients were gathered at that time. But that's more than that at Master Spencer's! I think this would satisfy Master Zacharias..."

Mr. Spencer looks humble but satisfied with "no" to my words.

I think this is my chance, and I take it to the purpose story.

"… is it also dedicated to the royal family that so many products are collected from all over the world?

"Yeah, of course. The Emperor's favorite Rauls pottery was delivered by our Chamber of Commerce."

"Is there anything rarer that the Imperial Family eats better?

"I was wondering if the white wine of Fonce, which His Royal Highness the Crown Prince would like, is excellent. Will Sir Zacharias be more interested in this one? hahahaha"

I got the name of the purpose sooner than I thought. Here we go into battle at once.

"Yeah, because I've never had white wine from Fonce. His Royal Highness likes alcohol, too. Has Master Spencer ever met you?

"Yeah, sure. We have worshipped you many times."

Finally, it's what I want you to talk about. This is where we come from.

I'll get my mind back together again, but I'll keep my face innocent.

"To me, I'm the one on the cloud. I'm interested in who you are."

"His Royal Highness is so good in appearance that I wonder if the God of Light (Lucidus) has descended, and he is a very fine man. If His Majesty the Emperor reigns, he will be called the Emperor of the Sun."

Mr Spencer praises the Crown Prince.

"But the Duke of Ezarrington said His Highness Leopold was a wonderful man, too. I'm still trying to get Luke to put down the hammer."

To provoke, I named the Crown Prince's rival, Prince Leopold.

"No, that's not true. Sure, His Highness Leopold is not a good fighter, because His Majesty the Emperor doesn't need to be a good fighter. But Lord Ezarrington did such a thing..."

"Probably a consideration for the Lockhart family. We have a terrible eye for Luke's light divinity."

So Mr. Burt supplements the matter of light theism.

"I wonder if you remember the incident some years ago when the Light Divinity was expelled from the Kingdom of Kaum. At that time, the Lockhart family was harassed by the Bishop of Light God."

"Oh, I remember. That's true. I see..."

What I aimed for was for the Lockhart family to show that they tied hands with the Duke of Ezarrington, and for the neutrals, including the Lockhart family, to think that they support Prince Leopold more than the Crown Prince.

I know I shouldn't do this without your permission or that of Zach. But I wanted to do something with my own hands.

"I thought His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, the Legion Leader of the Second Legion, would conquer Lukes...... but instead, His Highness Leopold punished the hateful Light Divinity. We are truly grateful. Leopold (...) to His Highness (...)"

This one word changed Mr. Spencer's complexion. I release the words of cessation to him.

"Once everyone in the Lockhart family has entered the Imperial Capital, Master Zacharias will meet the Chancellor. I have no doubt that this was said by the Duke of Ezarrington, but on that occasion, Zacharias said a lot about the future..."

Obscure the end of the story and make your mouth look slippery.

I thought about who Mr Spencer would tell this story to.

That conclusion undoubtedly means telling the Duke of Ingolslop that the Neutralists have decided to support Prince Leopold.

Lord Ingolslop can't ignore this information either, so we have to move.

Even if it moves, this story is too big, so there won't be time for the Crown Prince to be involved with the Lockhart family. Probably, but it should do some work against the neutrals.

Now I think we can achieve our initial purpose, but this is just a little weak. You better move Mr. Clark, who is in conflict with Mr. Spencer, to confuse the Crown Prince.

Afterwards, we talk about ingredients while looking at the list, etc., after the Spencer Chamber of Commerce.

After leaving the Spencer Chamber of Commerce, he arrived at another place to visit, the Clark Clothing Store. It also faces the boulevard and is only about a hundred melts away from the Spencer Chamber of Commerce across the Alliance building.

Clark's clothing store was also a large building, with a lot of silk cloth inside to make the dress fabric. I'm not interested, though.

When he is guided to the reception room, the dressed gentleman appears.

He claims to be a gentleman in his mid-forties with slurring tall, well-groomed mustaches and stroked brown hair. It was just so sophisticated that I thought there was just something about selling clothes to noble opponents.

"It's Danny Clark," he named in a slightly lower voice.

Take my right hand with that name and mouth it.

I was surprised by the sudden, but I return a greeting without putting it on my face: "Nice to meet you, my name is Sharon Jakes".

"I heard about the Spencer Branch Manager today that you have concerns. At the outset, I would like to say that I have nowhere to include Mr Spencer. So we think there's not much we can do to help."

Exactly like the merchant of the imperial doers, I've been the first to restrain them.

"Yeah, of course. I'm not asking you to do anything about Spencer, either."

That's what I say and make a laugh.

There is no innocence in this grin that I showed at Mr. Spencer's. On the contrary, he makes enough expressions to feel a little cold. I don't know if that looks really cold though.

"So could you tell us about your concerns?" He prompts me to talk.

"Mr. Spencer will be doing a lot of research on the Lockhart family. I wish I could just look into it, but I am wondering if the Duke of Ingolslop has been consulted on pulling the Lockhart family to the Crown Prince. As I'm sure you already know, the Lockhart family has a good relationship with the Duke of Ezarrington. Of course, the Prime Minister knows this, and the forceful pull-out will naturally be taken as an act of hostility to the Prime Minister…"

Watch how they're doing here. But there was no change in Mr. Clark's expression.

"... Rumors are already circulating, but Lady Lawrence of the Duke of Ezarrington, Lawrencia and Primrose will like about Zacharias. And Master Zacharias is not full. It's a shame for my fiancée..."

Say so and lean down a little.

"...... but if Master Zacharias decides, we have no choice. More important than that about this one is that these two were also liked by the Dwarf blacksmiths in Ezarrington City. This means that if the relationship between Master Zacharias and the Lady of the Order is to be obstinate, the Blacksmith Guild will turn to the enemy as well..."

"I mean, if you don't want to rub it with your blacksmith guild, are you trying to tell me not to get my hands on it? I'm not willing to rub it in vain with the Blacksmith Guild even as we are, but that's why I don't feel like I'm arching my hands. Our merchants fight every day using the weapon of negotiation. Spending time recklessly without that weapon is unlikely to be a merchant. Right, Lord Robbins?

Mr Clark spoke to Mr Burt.

This man is more insulting. I'm trying to give my side, Mr. Burt, an opinion that's close to me.

"Right. If you are indeed a merchant with some power, you will try to open it by negotiation, without spending time recklessly. But..."

Block Mr. Burt by saying "Exactly".

"But commercial guilds don't use spicy hands. I just want to open things up by negotiation."

Mr Clark has told me to admit it because we are only going to negotiate. But there's no way a commercial guild wouldn't use a ploy.

I erased the grin that was floating.

"Then he says the commercial guild intends to tear between the Lockhart and Ezarrington families..."

Place a few moments here. There was still an extra grin on Mr. Clark's face. I think what do you think each little girl can do?

"... ok. After this, we plan to go to the Blacksmith Guild, so tell the Fink Branch Manager about it. Mr. Gunter has also come to the village of Rasmore, so I am also very kind."

I dare to call Mr. Gunter by his first name and appeal to him to be in an intimate relationship. And I float my hips trying to stay up.

"Yes, no, we don't have to rush to a conclusion..."

For the first time, Mr. Clark showed upset. Seems like you didn't think I was going to push this far.

If this is the case in normal negotiations, I repeat the words even more in my favor.

But I forcefully broke off the negotiations and stood up ignoring him. And as I looked down into his eyes as he sat down, I started talking to him to sound ruthless.

"Aren't we already drawing conclusions? Regardless of the Branch Manager, Master Clark, said to be the most prominent candidate for the next Branch Manager, was declared to act as a broker between the Lockhart and Ezarrington families. This is the same thing even in negotiations. As far as I'm concerned, I believe that a leading commercial guild moves better is the same as an entire guild moves. Now take your precious time…"

I dared to use the word "next branch manager” to threaten him.

If this fact were passed on to the Blacksmith Guild, it would be clearer for the blacksmiths to run wild than to see fire. As a result, Mr. Clark loses all credibility within the commercial guild at once. So he's in a hurry.

"Please wait. My words earlier are only general theories. Wow, personally, I want to have a good relationship with the Lockhart family..."

He says, "Well, you can help me."

"And of course. I will definitely stop the branch manager."

I strive for perfection and lower my voice even more.

"As Zacharias Lockhart's fiancée, I will not tolerate that person's treading on his thoughts. If a commercial guild makes any strange moves, even if that is what Mr Spencer did, you would consider yourself to have done it aggressively. And I will tell the Blacksmith Guild from my mouth with the name Lockhart in the near future that Clark Clothing Store is“ Dwarf Enemy ”. You know what that means."

To my words, Mr. Clark says, "No, that's, of course..."

Now he just has to keep an eye on Mr. Spencer. And I had to restrain Mr. Spencer, who dances by my flushed information.

This should greatly disrupt the commercial guild. They're not stupid either, so the confusion might fit right in, but I still think they bought us about half a month of time.

Ignoring Mr Clark, who is still in a hurry, "Well, let me spare you," he urges Mr Burt to return with a smile.

Mr. Burt stood up in a hurry, not thinking it would be such a development either.

After leaving the Clark clothing store, I heard Mr. Burt whispering, "Don't defy Master Sharon..."

"What's wrong?," he asked deliberately with a grin.

"Yes, no, it's nothing"

That's what I was in a hurry to say.

I don't want to be scared of anything else either, but now I'd rather be scared to protect Master Zach.
