Dream Life

Episode XIV: The Ars Return

May 29.

The day after we arrived in Ealdred, we were to stay in this city for one day today with a rest. Naturally, there is a banquet with the Ealdred branch of the Blacksmith Guild, but it's free time during the day.

I was just thinking about what to spend time with, and the Imperial Army knight contacted my father.

I checked with Doug, the head of the raider, that the body of a suspicious person had been found, and he said it sounded like Dino Grandis, an intelligence unit member of Luke's Holy Kingdom, who was giving Doug instructions.

Apparently, the body was severely damaged and the orb to prove its identity was gone.

The similarity of physical characteristics and the lack of any other information on missing persons led him to conclude that it was not Grandis, but that even a knowledgeable Doug could not say for sure whether it was him or her.

However, it seems to be thoroughly obliterating the evidence, and the fact that there is nothing left, including clothing, as well as the horses and luggage that were on board, means that the truth remains unknown in the end.

The knight taught me to gather information about the suspicious for a while now, but no more mountain hunting.

Doubts remain as to whether it was really Grandis himself, but if there was nothing more he could do, my father could only snort.

After the knight left, my father asked me about future policies.

"Do you think Luke's raid should be vigilant?

I have already thought about that and will answer immediately.

"We need to be vigilant, but I don't think we need to worry too much"

"Why not. Could the mastermind be alive?

"Because the information we heard yesterday about the victory of the Imperial Army will spread."

So my father thought a little,

"Is that because His Excellency the Duke of Ezarrington will be triumphant, there will be no confusion in a few things?"

"Exactly. I guess Luke's intelligence unit didn't expect to settle the war so quickly either. What if the first plan was to attack and succeed in Oak Hope, and Abadzac's battle was a month from now?"

"Mm-hmm. There's a good chance the war was still going on, but don't pin it around..."

"It was at the beginning of May that we entered Oak Hope. If information can fly everywhere at that stage, it should reach Imperial Capital by the middle of May. If you can rub it in the Senate, the Imperial Army has a Feilong unit, so it will reach His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and His Highness the Duke of Ezarrington before June. That could have caused confusion before the battle began"

My father seems to have understood there too and strikes "I see" with his hand.

"That is. Their expectations were overshadowed by the Duke's Divine Speed soldiers and incompetent Light Divine leaders. You mean there's no point in attacking us now and confusing the Senate... Okay. Okay, let's stay alert."

That's what I told my father, but I was anxious that Luke would give up easily.

Whatever it is, they are fanatics. There is no denying the possibility of sticking to the original order and obsessively coming after it.

However, if they asked me if I was going to get all that fighting power, I would say no.

If I were to do it, I'd use poison that Luke is good at, or about assassination by a handful of Beastman slaves. I believe, however, that that is unlikely either.

I can't be alarmed because there's something about the poison that was used by me in Wellburn, but it's hard to think about using it because with that poison, it's like Luke's saying he's holding his hand.

The same applies to the Beastman Slave, who will be tied to Luke's Beastman Slave as soon as a skilled Beastman strikes that can scratch Dan or Beatrice's vigilance.

Killing us can be a purpose, but it doesn't fit the purpose of causing chaos to the Empire.

On the contrary, if Luke came to the Lockhart family, the Blacksmith Guild wouldn't shut up. That could seriously create an expeditionary army, and to stop it, it is conceivable that around Queen Katrina in the Kingdom of Kaum will present measures that threaten the coalition of urban states, such as Aurelia, to make it a soldier attack.

I do not believe that I will ever place such a dangerous bet.

May 30th.

I will be dropped off by the Dwarves of the Blacksmith Guild and leave Aaldred.

About last night's banquet, but Scotch was just out of stock, and it was a very normal banquet. Of course, it comes with a pillow called Dwarves'.

June 12.

Arrived in Ars, king's capital of the Kingdom of Kaum.

There were no worried raids, and the comfortable season before the early summer left no trouble whatsoever.

This time, an event was planned in Ars.

It is to be present at the start of the operation of the distillery that was made near Ars.

Scott, the distiller, has already been in Ars for about half a month and should be doing a final check at the distillery along the Slay River.

It would be too much with Scott, but just in time for me to go through, I decided to be present at the first barrel pack.

Entering Ars, the blacksmiths greeted me at the main entrance. I wasn't caught in booze this time because I wasn't loaded with scotch, but because the arrival dates were communicated in advance.

"Well done! Sieg Scotch!" The voices of the dwarves echo.

Have the citizens of Ars gotten used to it these days, looking at the Rockhart family carriage and saying the same thing, "Sieg Scotch!" He's starting to call me out. I feel a little different, but I guess I started seeing the happy faces of the Dwarves and coming out naturally.

Ulrich Drexler, chief craftsman on behalf of Dwarf, hangs greeting words.

"Looks like you did well in Imperial City. My liver got cold when I heard they attacked me on the way, but whatever, I'm glad I'm safe."

That's what I say. Take my father's right hand.

My father also returned greetings,

"Thank you for your words of welcome. Well, a lot of alcohol entanglement seems to have added more work, which annoys me, thank you."

and at the end of the day he was laughing bitterly.

More jobs include establishing branches in Seawell and Phyllobisher, and arranging for skilled (expert) course attendance at the Ezarrington and Fortis branches.

These are also under the control of the General Headquarters and will require approval at the Operating Meeting.

There are also other arrangements for quality copper needed for the production of distillers.

Originally, copper is produced in the Kingdom of Cadmium, but it is not used much else, such as money or cookware, and has limited production capacity. Fine now, but if we are going to manufacture distillers in large quantities in the future, it will be imperative to improve the production capacity of copper, which will also be the work of the Blacksmith Guild.

"Breaking bones for booze is hardship or nothing. Woe. Gahahahaha!" Gaelnote Graver laughs lavishly. The other Dwarves were laughing the same way and it was a reaction as expected.

He entered the Golden Floor (Anvil) Pavilion, where he was staying, and headed straight to the Blacksmith Guild banquet. This time it is also accompanied by a young blacksmith from Netherton.

Because they are also supposed to be present at the start of the distillery operations after tomorrow, but more than that, their activity in Roguedale has entered the ears of the Ulrich people. It also meant a banquet for labor against them who stood up and defended the Lockhart family.

As usual, 300 parents were gathered in the assembly room. Plus Jack Harper, head of the Scott and Alliance distilleries back from the Slay River distillery, meets.

I look at the two bright faces, and I say, "Looking good," I say.

"Yes, the distiller is only commissioned, but malt (malt) is well planted, and it has a nice peat (peat) scent. I can't wait to fill the barrel tomorrow."

Scott talked to me with a full smile. Naturally, there must have been a lot of things to get here, but as things stand, everything is solved and nothing seems to be wrong.

"It's going really well itself thanks to Master Scott. We're almost done building a second distillery, and we're going to be able to produce as planned from the first year."

Since it is a large consumption area, it was planned to build multiple distilleries from the outset. Consumers (dwarves) were not convinced that we should gradually increase production over a period of several years while checking climate and water conditions.

For this reason, it was decided to lend Scott, the head of distillation in the village of Rasmore. If it's some problem with him, I can solve it.

The primary reason is to reassure the craftsmen who have completed their training.

I confirm that I have no problem with the craftsmen's arms, but I am sure that I will feel strong pressure with the expectations of thousands of dwarves all at once.

If I feel that pressure, I won't be able to do anything that I can succeed. In that regard, Scott would reassure the Dwarves, so there would be no unnecessary pressure on them, and the craftsmen would be comfortable with having a leading player in this world.

The banquet proceeded as he talked to the Scots about the distillery and the Dwarves about the barrel packing the next day, etc.

"Looks like it's getting a lot brighter," Ulrich tells Luna.

The last time I came here, I still barely spoke, so I think I noticed the difference.

"Yes," Luna replies, "thanks to Mr. Zach and all the Lockhart family," and laughs nicely.

"That's more than anything. You can still drink, but eat a lot and grow up fast."

That's what I recommend cooking.

"Thank you," Luna said, bowing her head small,

"You're going to grow to the side if you eat too much"

"Right. I need to make sure you don't look like Katie. Gahahahaha!" laughs Oigen Hauser of Divine Spear.

Shortly afterwards, a woman was heard from the entrance.

"Oh, my name seems to have come up."

Looking back, there was the figure of Katrina Brentwood, Queen of the Kingdom of Kaum.

It's a simple long piece of beige to use when you're in a hurry.

"I'm not calling you today," Ulrich said.

"I can't help but have everyone from the Lockhart family around the corner," he says, holding his eyes with a handkerchief.

But because no one really thinks they're sad, Georg Stoke, who made my protective gear, invites me to say, "If you're going to drink with me, play and sit down."

Kati joined, and the banquet was as exciting as usual.

Kati spoke to me as the Cheers song sang endlessly.

"That said, they thought of a new dish."

"Is it cooking?" I overheard the unexpected words.

"What! You thought of a new knob!" and the toast song stops.

"I heard it was a knob called" chocolate, "wasn't it?

So I finally understood.

"Yeah, I made it with Luna, but it's more of a treat than a dish. Of course it can be a cooking ingredient."

"What is it, sweets?" the Dwarves are dismayed, but Kati has been asking questions as they are.

"I heard it's good for Brandy's opponents, what kind of stuff is it?

So the Dwarves gaze at me again.

"It's bitter and sweet. It's hard to explain with your mouth, so I'll have it ready tomorrow."

I will put the occasion to rest, but once again I admire her ability to gather information, such as asking questions about new Seawell wines.

As for wine, it's a famous story among imperial nobles, but the chocolate one is slightly different.

In fact, it was at the end of January that we made it, and it was in mid-February that we showcased it at the feast of the Empire City. The Robbins Chamber of Commerce, which sells gelato, has not yet been commercialized either, so there should be very little information out there.

"Speaking of which, they make new booze out of phyllobisher. And even in Netherton."

Ulrich has changed the subject.

"Oh, Phyllobisher's liquor is made of sugar cane. Netherton is made from corn. They're both still in the planning stage, but they should be able to drink like never before."

Johann Wilt, who struck Liddy and Dan's sword, starts talking excitedly.

"Never before! Can't that be done here! What Non and others drink..."

"Relax, Johann," Ulrich said, but he also asked if he was interested in a new drink, "What kind of booze would that be?"

"I can't say for sure because I haven't even made it yet, but Phyllobisher's stuff becomes a unique sweet-smelling distilled liquor. The sweet fragrance isn't a fruity fragrance like Calvato (...) S, it should be a slightly bitter fragrance like brown sugar."

"So what about Netherton's," Johan asks. Seems quite interested.

"Netherton's should be fragrant scented. However, it is completely unknown how much fragrance and flavor this one will have. Well, at least we can make distilled liquor, so I'm not worried about that."

"Can't they drink that," Gaelnote complains with a sad face.

"I think in five or six years you will be able to drink, but it will be up to the people of the land to decide how much they intend to make"

"With that being said, a Netherton official should have. If he's in charge of the brewery, we'll have to ask him to turn it around later."

Looks like you noticed about the guild clerk Bertram who's accompanying you. As always, when it comes to booze, it's a good idea.

"Don't put too much pressure on it. Besides, the Netherton Branch is a small place. We need to support him properly so he can build a lot..."

I think I've said that much, and I shut my mouth. Because I think I can drink it if I support it.

"I see. I should be there for you. Then the General Headquarters will fully support you."

That's how Ulrich closed.

Bertram was then called in and his eyes were rounded when he was told that the General Headquarters would cooperate fully.
