Dream Life

Episode 43: A Festival Proposal

Around noon on June 26th.

In the middle of analyzing Ray Arklight's magic formation, which he's been doing since morning, he rolled out to the city of Ars because it's lunch time.

Go to the commercial district a short distance from the guild and enter the dining room where you are recommended by the guild staff.

"What can I recommend to Master Zacharias..." he didn't quite tell me at first, but it seemed like a delicious dining room with a lot of hobbies.

Asking for a set meal like a lunch set, he told Liddy and the others what he discovered with Sharon in the morning.

Explaining that the magic formations depicted on Arklite's left hand were meant to gather the power of the Spirit,

"... I mean, with that magic formation, you don't have to be a magician to be able to use magic?

Liddy opens her eyes and asks questions.

I can see the Spirit. I guess she can't believe it because she sees those who can't use magic being ignored by the Spirit.

"If I succeed. If we can gather the power of the Spirit even if we can't activate magic, we can use it. Well, I guess that's not gonna happen."

What I'm assuming is a massive battle, like the raid of the army of Vlad Varonos, king of the undead. There is no point in the Nothingness (Vanitas) reaching out to the village of Rasmore or us more than Luna stands alone, because if it's the extent of a demonic outburst, it can be adequately handled by the Lockhart family vigilante.

If there were, it would be a demonic invasion, but it would also vary depending on what Luna and Arklight have done in the Demonic lands, "The Eternal Darkness (Kwaedam Tenebre)," and the Demons would not plan a massive invasion until the damage they have taken in the Pericritle offensive has been healed.

Besides, this demonic invasion is known to have barely (bypassed) Fort Toa, so Queen Katrina should hit her hand. No, you can see I've already hit it.

Rumor has it, the commander of the fort, who failed to prevent the demonic invasion, has been replaced and a new low-status but competent commander is on the move.

I would be investigating a way out to go with that, and I see it as unlikely to be raided without warning.

Because I was thinking about it, or when I returned to General Headquarters, the queen was waiting. Even so, it's a total coincidence.

"Long time no see, Mr. Zach"

I've always come as a civilian, and now I guess it's not “queen," it's “Katie."

"I'm out of time, Mr. Kati. Thank you for taking care of my sister-in-law," he returns.

There is no doubt that she has given the Blacksmith Guild a lot of measures, which should be a huge help for the Lunas to act within the Empire. For that reason, I conveyed my gratitude.

But I don't see why the Queen is here. At least you shouldn't have just come to see our faces.

"What can I do for you today? Early hours for the banquet, though?

I had a meaningful grin on that question,

"I have a little favor to ask you..." You feel our gaze, and I hastily add, "Of course, it's as Kati".

Slightly less powerful there.

Because saying “as Katie” is tantamount to declaring it to be a story that has nothing to do with politics.

I just can't imagine what kind of favor you have at this time.

"Is this your favor as Mr. Kati?

"Yeah, I'd like to ask Mr. Ulrich if I can, too. They should be here soon."

Ulrich appears at that time. Unlike in the morning, you can see the tingling atmosphere farther away.

"I'm late for work because of the Red Arms guys. Come at night if you need me!

With that said, I head to the master craftsman's office.

Ulrich also doesn't seem to know what the story is about, and he's probably frustrated that the job won't go on.

When she enters the master master craftsman's office, the queen says, "I'm sorry about your busyness", lowers her head small, and then starts talking.

"I'm glad Mr. Zach thought he'd be headed straight back from here to Lasmore Village."

I don't see the story, but I say, "Yeah, I'm going to".

"For the time being, you're in the village."

I don't know the intent of the question, but I'll be honest with you because it's not about hiding it.

"We have vacated the village for almost a year, so I intend to go to the academic city (Doctus) once. Even so, I intend to return in a short time. What's that?

In the words the queen reveals her joy: "That was good". And towards Ulrich,

"Mr. Zach is back, so that we shouldn't be doing a lot of Dwarf festivals that we couldn't do in the spring? If we get ready now, we'll make it to the Fall Victory Festival."

Looks like the Queen came all the way out here to propose a Dwarf Festival. If I speak to Ulrich, the master craftsman at this hour, I can make an announcement at the banquet tonight. I guess I aimed for that.

Ulrich's frustration with the story is gone clean, and he listens with a glance.

"That's where I need a favor from Mr. Zach. At this Dwarf Festival, we'd like you to show us how to drink a lot of alcohol, as you did in the first round."

"Is it like when you described watercracking or on-the-rock?

"There's that, too, but it's a way to drink alcohol mixed with a lot of different things. You said you didn't have a name then, but I was wondering if I could ask for that one again..."

I did show off my cocktail in the first round. On top of that, I declare that I will not aim for this drinking for the moment.

"Is that it..."

Personally, I would like to spread it after a little more distillery culture has taken root. So far, there are rams in Phyllobisher, Uotka in Fortis and Bourbon in Netherton, where gin can be built in the village of Lasmore.

It also has better distribution than before, with more citrus fruit in the village of Rasmore, and water attribute mages making it in many cities about ice, which has been becoming more common over the past few years.

Carbonated water needed for long cocktails, but tonic water anyway, soda or ginger ale can make it with my magic.

It's the liqueurs that don't, but there's nothing you can't make if you want to make this too. With liquor and fruit, herbs and sugar, and a distiller, it shouldn't be that hard if you just make it whether it tastes good or not.

"If that drinking method became more common, I think it would be a strong motivation (incentive) to create alcohol that would be an ingredient. That way, Mr. Zach, even if one person doesn't work hard to make a lot of alcohol, a lot of people should start working on it."

"I know what you're talking about..." he replies, "but next to me, Ulrich says," That's Katie! shouting, "

"Honestly, I don't like that way of drinking, but I agree with you about creating new booze."

Tell your thoughts to the queen sideways about the exciting Ulrich.

"It's not a blur to suggest it, but I doubt it will come out after me even if I did. Shouldn't we spread it after the liquor culture matures a little bit more"

In response to my thoughts, the Queen said, "No problem."

"We are going to actively develop new alcohol, at least in our country. Fortunately, it is going to be possible to develop land in the east over the barbecue, so it is going to be possible without affecting food self-sufficiency. Of course, I'm counting on Zach's help."

"Will the Kingdom of Kaum take the lead in developing alcohol?

"That will happen at first, but Aurelia and the Empire should soon be in as well. In that case, the kingdoms of Lax and Sartooth will follow suit. Whatever it is, it's a new industry, so I don't think anyone who tries to do business is going to stop."

Surely Dwarf, the biggest customer of liquor in this world, never threads on gold. It's a product that is set to sell, so if you can create it, you can get a huge amount of wealth.

In fact, the Marquis Territory of Seawell has made enormous profits from brandy production, and many senior nobles are planning to build distilleries in an effort to follow suit.

"I think it's a good opportunity to spread new alcohol to the world. How about spreading the word on this occasion not only for Phyllobisher's rum, but also for Netherton's corn liquor and Fortis' potato liquor"

"It's certainly not inconvenient not to have a name. If you give Matt a name, he will also work for those who have come this far."

Netherton's can be called Corn Whiskey, but Fortis' taro distillery has no name at all, and Fortis just calls it “taro liquor”.

However, even if my father, Masaias, gives it a name, I have to think about the substance. This is really troublesome.

"There are other purposes to doing it in large part," the queen has said with a serious look.

"Is it for another purpose?," he nodded loudly.

"I don't know where and what Mr. Luna went to do. But the Blacksmith Guild backs up completely, and those Red Arms will be on the escort. The whole world will pay attention to Mr. Luna. At that point, I think the Lockhart family can prevent unnecessary interference by showing once again that they are sincere with a blacksmith's guild or a commercial guild."

"Is it for Luna..."

"Yes," he nodded forcefully,

"We do not know what form the relationship between the Caerm Empire and the Holy King Luke will take from here on out. Besides, how does Mr. Luna relate... but isn't it in any way that Zach went out of his way to the meadows?

The words that return to the Queen's sharp insight do not appear aggressive.

"I just went to see my brothers," he answers somehow, but the queen didn't look convinced by it.

"Seo, I have heard that Serra is acting with the Sorel tribe of the Humane Horse (Centaur). But isn't Mr. Zach's instruction that Mr. Theo and the others are acting together with the Sorels at this time? Otherwise, it would be unnatural to come to Ars (here) from Aurelia to the central region, via Fortis"

She's right, if you're going to take the easy route, you can head straight east from Aurelia. Even if you stop by Wellburn, it's more natural to return to Aurelia Street than to pass through the central region.

What's more, even if you had business going to the meadows, you don't have to go back south through Ars from Fortis. You just think there's a reason you've gone far.

"Because I wanted to see the situation in Wellburn, Netherton, Fortis, and the Slayside of Ars. In fact, we try it in all the distilleries."

The queen stares me in the eye and shuts up.

laughing furiously after about ten seconds, he said, "Let's keep it that way,"

"In any case, Mr. Luna and the others should be caught up in a big story. Because they keep that“ white warrior "company. As far as I'm concerned, I wanted to ask you what happened in" The Eternal Darkness (Kwaedham Tenebre), "but I didn't want to hear about it because it was an atmosphere you shouldn't."

That's what I see Ulrich.

Ulrich was jocking with his eyes swimming.

"I understand the story. Regardless of Luna, it seems that Guild and Mr. Kati have broken a lot of bones, and we will consider positively the Dwarf Festival's hosting by spreading the culture of liquor. Of course, I need my father's permission."

"All right, that's settled! We're sending out circulars to all branches! I'm looking forward to October! Sieg Scotch!

Ulrich is already meant to be decided.

That night, when the banquet began, Ulrich introduced the queen's proposal. Naturally there is also a queen on the spot.

The Dwarves reacted as expected, "" Sieg Scotch! "" The cry echoes in the assembly room.

"This is an unprecedented festival! There's no limit on the number of people!

"That's Ulrich! Sieg Scotch!

"Katie suggested it a lot too! Sieg Scotch!

The Dwarves' voltage keeps rising.

"We haven't decided yet! Besides, what about the Forge Skills Assessment? You can't have a review meeting with all branches for as much as you want!

When I screamed like that, Ulrich said, "There's no skill assessment meeting! This time it's not just alcohol!," he denied the blacksmith guild's true worth lightly.

"Then you don't have a name. Aren't we supposed to have a liquor review while we compete for a blacksmith arm?

"Nobody cares about such details. Everyone knows that they act for alcohol."

I can't help that word. Sure, you're right, but I don't know if that's okay.

"I ask, just in case, how many are you going to come? I don't think it will fit the number of people who can handle it in our village..."

"I'm not going to bother the Lockhart family. But 5,000 people must be tough."

"Five thousand dwarves..." When I'm out of line,

"We can get ready now. Plus, the Alliance backs up completely. I was on a big boat!

That's what you say. Hit my back with a basin.

When I saw the Liddies, my expression had disappeared to too many people. Sharon in particular is whining about something bumpy.

"... Five thousand Dwarves means there's a barrel of beer... maybe not enough Scotch... it's too narrow around Hill Hall. I don't know what to do..."

They're figuring out how to run it.

"You can't have 5,000 dwarves for anything you want. At least you need to reduce it a little more..."

"Maybe a little," I ask, so I rush to deny it.

"No, drastically reduce it. If there were a thousand dwarves in our village, it would be pretty tough."

"Not a little more okay? There must have been more than a thousand people here before."

That's what the queen said.

"Bye! If you have to admit at least two thousand and five hundred, you can't get five hundred out of Ars. There's gonna be a riot under 300."

"" Bye! Now I'm sure Noon will join us!

Voices rise from multiple blacksmiths.

Until now, there have been many voices at the Dwarf Festival saying that there are too many people from each branch in the total headquarters, and Ulrich also had difficulty adjusting.

For that reason, I guess we want to make sure that as many dwarves as possible can participate this time.

I could only put it off by saying "I'll contact you later, including around there".
