Chapter 355: A Familiar Face And Hear Me Out
"Hey!"
The other person noticed Caelus staring at her. She immediately smiled and waved at him, her face full of excitement.
Caelus recognized that face at once. This was one genuinely annoying person he would never forget, no matter what happened to the world.
Faust. The Apostle he had met in the Abyss.
Caelus’s figure flickered. He shot straight toward her as the Chaos Ring formed thousands of swords behind him.
Every sword pointed at Faust. At the same time, his fist crashed into her and sent her flying far away from her Kingdom.
"Such an enthusiastic reunion!" Faust exclaimed with laughter as she looked at Caelus.
"What do you want, you annoying woman?" Caelus looked at her coldly as Telekinesis slammed into her.
"Calm down, Caelus," Faust said with a sigh. "By now, you should have realized that we both have the same combat power."
"Hehe."
Caelus naturally knew this. Faust was giving off a power level similar to his own.
This telekinesis obviously was not enough to pressure her. But he still had his Gravity Domain.
BOOM!
Five times gravity instantly pressed down on Faust, making her almost lose her footing. Faust’s lips twitched when she felt it.
"You are so cruel, Caelus," Faust said with a sigh. "Is this how you treat me? Do you know how much I missed you?"
Boom!
The next moment, light spread out from her and shot toward Caelus. Seeing this, Caelus swiftly changed templates and used Golden Light Palm to pierce through the light.
"You still kept that annoying ability from the Abyss. Interesting." Faust smiled when she saw it in action. "I am quite frankly surprised, Caelus."
"Is that so, Faust?" Caelus stared at her with a deadpan look.
This vixen was already trying to use her mind control on him. He knew she could not be trusted.
"I could only imagine what would have happened if I had let you into my Kingdom." He clicked his tongue. "Good thing I didn’t."
"Hey, don’t be like that," Faust said. "I’ve been trying to become better. Now, I don’t mind-control people unless they piss me off."
"And I am very pissed off right now, Caelus."
Boom!
An orb of light shot toward Caelus. Caelus sneered the moment he saw it.
His Chaos Perception Eyes activated, and with the passive effect of his Ascended Body, the orb of light flying toward him seemed to slow down greatly.
Whoosh!
He dodged it just in time and activated Chaos Bolt. A terrifying blue and grey flame formed in his hand as he pointed at Faust with a finger-gun gesture.
Boom!
He made a shooting motion, and a terrifying beam of Chaos Fire tore through the air like a bolt. Even the ground near them was destroyed as it slammed into Faust.
However, she came out of it completely unbothered. She gave Caelus a sly smile and laughed.
"You’ve gotten stronger than you were back in the Abyss, Caelus."
"Stop irritating me, woman. Tell me why you are here," Caelus said coldly. "How about you move out of my place so we can both exist in peace?"
"Or is waging war on me and trying to conquer my Kingdom your real intention?"
"No." Faust shook her head. "That is not my intention. I just wanted to say hi to my friend here."
Caelus was taken aback by that. "I don’t consider you a friend. You are an evil woman."
Faust chuckled when she heard that. "Well, it seems like I can’t convince you yet."
"I know you have an ulterior motive, Faust." Caelus rolled his eyes. "We can never get along."
Faust chuckled again. "Then I’ll annoy you until you hear me out."
Caelus’s lips twitched at her reply. "Can’t you just be normal and let me live peacefully?"
Then, as if thinking of something, Caelus spoke again. "Well, if you tell me what you are, I might consider listening."
"You mean my Apostle Title?" Faust tilted her head, but then quickly shook it. "I cannot say that. If I reveal the details behind it, I will die."
"Perfect. That’s killing two birds with one stone," Caelus said, sounding pleased.
He would get his answer and kill her at the same time. Wasn’t that perfect?
Faust visibly grew irritated. She threw an orb of light filled with destructive power at him.
Caelus dodged it at the last moment.
"But why can’t you say it?" Caelus asked with a frown.
Was she under some kind of death contract with the being she served as an Apostle? That had to be the case.
"It’s a death contract, and like I said, I cannot reveal the details."
"Fine. I’ll hear you out, Faust, but not here. Come to the Trading Hub."
"Why the Trading Hub?" Faust looked caught off guard.
"Just come," Caelus said.
In the end, they both went to the Trading Hub. Faust’s Kingdom was not far from the area, and Caelus still did not allow her into his own Kingdom.
As soon as they arrived, they sat down.
"Okay, give me all your skills," Caelus said as if that was the most normal thing in the world.
"No?" Faust looked at him in disbelief.
"Do you have any artifacts then?" Caelus asked.
Faust shook her head at that too.
"And you still dare come here to talk terms with me, woman?" Caelus’s eyes widened. "You are a scammer!"
"I never said anything about giving you things???" Faust’s expression turned strange.
Why did it feel like she was the one getting played by Caelus? She did not like that feeling one bit.
"Alright, whatever, Faust. I’ll hear you out." Caelus let out a sigh. "Just my luck. I could be using this time to hunt in the Origin Expanse."
He was testing Faust. He knew she could not be trusted so easily, so he tried to annoy her and even made up a bunch of conditions to push her away, but she still seemed serious about this talk.
Because of that, he decided to hear her out.
"I want to form an alliance with you," Faust said, going straight to the point.
Silence fell over the place.
Then Caelus abruptly stood up. "Nope. Never happening."
"Keep dreaming."
"Do you want to reach the God Domain?" Faust suddenly asked.
Hearing that, Caelus immediately sat back down.
"Oh. What about the God Domain?" Caelus asked.
