Chapter 560: The Only Light Amid The Bloodshed
Lucien could not accept that a mere runecaster whom he once thought of as lesser was so much stronger than him, and it strangely seemed like the Absolute Runecaster was almost as strong as the Valkyrie.
And yet, no matter how much he wished to deny reality, no matter how much he did not want to accept that factual truth, it remained the truth right in front of his eyes.
As a result, when that arrogance of his broke, it also broke a part of his superior strength that stemmed from the Dragon Bloodline.
The Suncrest Prince was being constantly pushed back by his Demonic enemy, who was already in his strongest form. Wangnan was overflowing with pride and reverence at the sheer power his Lord displayed, in stark contrast to Lucien’s own state of mind.
With every exchange Lucien performed, Lucien seemed to be losing his strength by the second, as even the last shred of his confidence was crumbling like a house of cards.
Of course, Wangnan’s own demonic ability, Dread Vessel, was also responsible for accelerating the deterioration of the Golden Prince’s mental state, which was already rattled by the Absolute Runecaster.
Eventually, the once arrogant Golden Prince, with most of his strength used, barely managed to stand, all bloodied.
He was truly desperate, with his life on the line, fighting with all of his might, holding on, despite the drowning dread overflowing in his mind.
If he was pushed to the edge anymore, he could truly lose his life at any given moment. Once that happened, he might not have any choice but to try using Draconic magic, and magic as powerful as that would naturally not go unnoticed by the 6th-phase existences observing the battlefield.
Or worse yet, he might actually have to attempt his Partial Dragon transformation to save his life.
’DAMN IT, fuck, fuck, fuuuuckkkk’ growled Lucien as he was on his last leg.
Just as he was about to activate one of the powerful Draconic Magics to buy himself some time.
A strange phenomenon occurred throughout the battlefield.
From the skies, a number of soft, glowing stardust particles rained; they were like tiny pockets of energy, almost like soft snow, melting upon contact.
The instant a few of the glittering stardusts touched Lucien’s body, a small part of his energy and stamina recovered.
His eyes widened in disbelief as he immediately recognized the energy signature.
Lucien hurriedly looked up and saw an incredibly beautiful, bright female figure wearing a yellowish battle dress hovering in the skies like a gentle fairy.
Her very existence seemed to soothe chaos and bring a sense of peace and order to the gruesome battlefield filled with endless bloodshed.
The Prince mumbled in shock, seeing his own sister, "Lumina??"
There was a crystalline wooden staff in Lumina’s hand. She was also gazing at the Golden Prince and pointed her staff down towards him.
The moment she did so, a massive storm of snowy stardust flocked around Lucien, as if they were alive, enshrouding his figure completely, while a barrier manifested between the Golden Prince and Wangnan to block the latter’s intervention, while Lucien was being healed.
And the few seconds it took for the Corrupted Elf to break the barrier were more than enough for Lucien to have healed to a certain extent in order to have a fighting chance against the demonic enemy.
Because Lumina’s restoration magic did not simply work on the body, but it also worked on the mind as well as the Soul Sanctum’s certain damages.
All the jumbled-up negativity within Lucien was cleared; the weight of envy and despair caused by Axel Nomrad’s mighty strength was also dissipating.
Wangnan found the accumulation of Dread parasites within the Prince slowly dying out.
But the healing of Lumina’s Restoration Magic did not stop there; Lucien resumed his battle against his demonic adversary, and the stardists continued to pour onto him, slowly healing his entire being even amid the ongoing battle.
And it was not only the Golden Prince who was being healed; rather, every single human seeker fighting against members of the Ghost race was being constantly healed. Mentally and physically.
The Dark Trio managed to regain their lost momentum in battle. Pushing back the thralls of the demon.
At the same time, whenever the glowing stardusts summoned by the Sunflower Princess hit the bodies of the various Undead, they would feel a scorched burn on their spirits. However, the burn of one stardust was incredibly light and almost dismissible.
But if an undead got hit by too many of the stardusts, their effects would stack up continuously.
As a result, morale among the Unified Army’s soldiers had been significantly boosted.
The broken cups that could not hold onto the overflowing water because of their previous cracks had been mended; and only then did the boost of all power provided by the Calamity Warlord truly take its desired effect.
The Human Army not only regained their footing but also began to push back the enemy, with all the advantages on their side.
Meanwhile, the countless battling undead only had one quality within them, which was that they could revive multiple times unless their enemies had the capacity to damage spirits.
But even that advantage of the Ghost race members was diminishing gradually as the effective efficiency of Axel Nomrad’s rune weapons was also dealing a great blow to the undead.
Even Axel, Heinz, and Sophia looked towards the flowery figure of the innocent princess in surprise.
Lucien, who was fighting against Wangnan, said to his sister through mental transmission, [You stupid fool, I told you again and again and again....NOT TO ENTER THE FUCKING BATTLEFIELD...]
For a moment, there was no response from his sister, and he began to think if he had been too harsh on her.
But her reply came swiftly, her soft voice strangely resolute, [I will not watch as my brother’s life is in danger, not while I have the power to do something about it...]
Even her voice, for whoever hears it, would feel like all of their agitation and turmoil was drowned by a soft sense of peace. After all, Luminaries were the heralds of peace and order.
Lucien scowled, but in the end, he could not find the right words to rebuke her, as he truly would have been screwed if not for Lumina’s timely save. He was almost forced to reveal his Draconic magic to save his life.
In the end, he sent words to her in a grave tone, [Alright fine, but keep an eye all around you, don’t let a single undead come closer to you, remain extremely alert until I finish my enemy and come to you, do you understand??]
Lumina sighed, [Yes, I know, I know...]
Her tone was that of a younger sister’s characteristic dismissal of her older brother’s worries. Finding it baseless.
But her brother’s worries were not unfounded, as Lucien knew of the bloodline she carried and how the Ghost race saw it as their ultimate nemesis; if the enemy could sense her hidden bloodline, it would be a disaster on a completely different level.
Thought Lucien with a grimace.
