Seeing that Chloe Sinclair wasn’t going to blame them, the men all nodded, hastily promising it wouldn’t happen again.

With that, Chloe Sinclair dropped the subject.

She simply said, "Thank you for the gifts. This is the first time I’ve ever received presents from my family."

The extravagance of their gifts felt unreal, as if they had been bought on a whim. But in reality, each one had been carefully selected.

Especially Gabriel’s ring. It was a piece from M Group’s chief designer and was practically priceless.

Gabriel must have gone to great lengths to get that ring in such a short amount of time.

But the thought that she hadn’t prepared any New Year’s gifts for them filled her with guilt.

Landon Sinclair noticed his little sister’s change in mood and offered some comfort. "We’re all old enough to have seen it all. Don’t worry about getting us gifts."

Chloe Sinclair’s face flushed red, her private thoughts laid bare.

"Tomorrow morning, you will definitely see your New Year’s gifts."

The men’s eyes lit up.

Though they said they didn’t need anything, they were all secretly hoping for a gift from her.

At Chloe’s words, the men instantly perked up, wishing they could go home, sleep, and have it be morning already.

Suddenly, Gabriel Sinclair stood up, his tone urgent. "Sis, I need to use your bathroom—it’s an emergency!"

Before Chloe could even react, Gabriel shot into the bathroom like a cannonball.

"Don’t—"

But all she heard was the CLICK of the closing door. The rest of her words were caught in her throat.

She was terrified that Gabriel would start screaming in the bathroom at any moment.

However, things didn’t turn out the way Chloe Sinclair had imagined.

By the time Gabriel came out, there had been no incident whatsoever.

Gabriel, however, saw the shocked look on Chloe’s face and thought she was upset about him using the bathroom. He scratched his head and quickly apologized. "Sorry about that. I really couldn’t hold it in."

Though Chloe had snapped out of her daze, she still shook her head mechanically.

"It’s... it’s okay."

"Alright." At this point, Mr. Sinclair couldn’t watch anymore and interjected. "It’s getting late. Chloe, we’ll be heading back now. You should get some rest."

With that, he pulled his goofy son a few steps away, then suddenly turned back. "Chloe, Happy New Year."

"Happy New Year."

Once the men were gone, Chloe sprinted to lock the front door, then threw open the bathroom door.

But...

It was empty!

Jasper Shaw was gone!

She looked at the bathroom window—it was wide open.

’Did Jasper really just jump out the window?’

The bathroom window was rather high, so Chloe had to find a small stool and stand on her tiptoes just to see out.

Seeing the bushes below, Chloe let out a sigh of relief.

’Even if he fell, the bushes should have broken his fall. He should be fine.’

Chloe assumed Jasper had left, so she put the stool away and turned to leave.

But as soon as she stepped out of the bathroom, she saw a tall, dark figure.

Chloe’s heart leaped into her throat. She looked up and saw it was none other than Jasper.

"Didn’t you jump out the window and run?"

A flicker of amusement crossed Jasper’s eyes. "I just climbed back up the pipe."

Then, Jasper held out a hand, asking for something.

Chloe didn’t understand, her face a mask of confusion.

"What?"

Jasper prompted her gently. "The ring."
