From Trash to Treasure: The Sinclair Family's Beloved Genius

After the New Year, everyone in the family became busy.

Mr. Sinclair and her eldest brother were gone from dawn till dusk. She never saw them at all.

Landon Sinclair had returned to his lab early on, only coming home on weekends.

Gabriel Sinclair had wanted to stay home for a couple more days, but Ms. Mayfield gave him last-minute notice about a photoshoot in Ariden. Gabriel had no choice but to book a flight and leave for Ariden that very night.

Now, Chloe Sinclair was the only one left at home.

Chloe Sinclair was getting a little bored at home, which was when Summer Beckett happened to stop by for a New Year’s visit.

Summer Beckett was still sporting that dazzling head of hair.

Upon arriving at the villa, he was still a bit reserved, glancing around as Chloe Sinclair poured him a glass of water.

"Relax. There’s no one home but me."

Summer Beckett didn’t seem embarrassed at all. Instead, he let out a visible sigh of relief, patting his chest and explaining with a cheerful laugh, "You know I’m scared of Uncle Sinclair."

Back in their school days, whenever Uncle Sinclair saw him, he’d look at him like he wanted to eat him alive.

Which is why, despite knowing Chloe Sinclair for so long, he had barely ever visited her house.

"So, what did you need me for?"

Only then did Summer Beckett remember the purpose of his visit. He slapped his thigh excitedly. "Didn’t we agree to go parkouring together? The spot we went to last time just got a complete makeover. If you’re free, we should go have some fun. It’ll keep you from getting moldy staying home all day."

When he’d first gotten home, his mom and dad had made such a fuss over him, practically wanting to spoon-feed him at every meal.

But now, not even half a month later, his parents were already rushing him to go back to school.

And the break wasn’t even halfway over!

As Summer Beckett spoke about the parkour spot in Westwood, he became visibly excited.

Chloe Sinclair figured that if the setting hadn’t restrained him, Summer Beckett would have probably started doing parkour on the spot.

Uncle Warren came over with a platter of fruit, happening to overhear their conversation.

He didn’t know what parkour was, but the thought of Chloe Sinclair being cooped up at home for days on end, doing research and writing theories, made him certain she was bored out of her mind. So, without a second thought, he suggested, "Miss, you should go out and have fun with Mr. Beckett."

Chloe Sinclair thought for a moment before finally nodding.

"I’m going to go upstairs and change."

Summer Beckett’s eyes lit up, and he nodded eagerly.

「Ten minutes later」

Chloe Sinclair was wearing a simple, black, fleece-lined hoodie with a pair of white sweatpants.

"Chloe, is it just me, or did you get a lot taller?"

As they reached the door, Summer Beckett happened to glance over and noticed Chloe Sinclair’s height. He realized she had grown quite a bit since they last met—and not just by a little.

Afraid she wouldn’t believe him, he quickly gestured to compare. "You used to only reach my chest, but now you’re past my shoulders."

Chloe Sinclair glanced over and saw that he was right.

She glanced down at Summer Beckett’s chest, and couldn’t help but wonder, ’How was I ever that short?’

She clicked her tongue and said, "It’s from working out a lot. I guess I just grew."

Summer Beckett didn’t say anything more, simply leading her to a spot in Westwood.

Compared to six months ago, this derelict area in Westwood had changed a lot. Many parkour obstacles had been added to the old steel mill structures.

A lot of people were already at the site. When someone spotted Summer Beckett, they quickly called out to him.

"Holy shit, Mr. Beckett! Who’s this little beauty? How come we’ve never seen you bring her around before?"

Summer Beckett stiffened and glanced around, looking a bit guilty. He ignored the other guy’s teasing.

"Get lost. This is Chloe."
