Chapter 403 - 392: Parkour
With that, Summer Beckett made the formal introduction. "Chloe, this is my college roommate, Evan Lawson."
Chloe Sinclair nodded slightly, tilting her head to ask, "Do you bring girls here to play often?"
Hearing this, Summer Beckett quickly shook his head and rushed to say, "Chloe, don’t listen to his nonsense. Evan’s the one who brings all the girls."
And that was no lie.
Summer Beckett had been completely focused on his studies since starting college; he didn’t even have a girlfriend.
Let alone bringing a date.
Chloe Sinclair was only teasing, so she hadn’t expected Summer Beckett to get so defensive. She couldn’t help but smile.
Evan Lawson stared at Chloe, his gaze brazen.
Suddenly, he nudged Summer Beckett and asked in a low voice, "Mr. Beckett, have I seen this little beauty somewhere before?"
He felt like he’d seen Chloe Sinclair’s face somewhere.
Summer Beckett didn’t think much of it.
After all, Chloe Sinclair was a regular on the trending topics list. Photos of her often circulated online, so it was normal for her to look familiar.
So he nodded. "You probably have."
Evan Lawson paused, scratching his head, his eyes fixed on Chloe Sinclair, unblinking.
Summer Beckett hadn’t really noticed at first, but Evan Lawson’s stare was so intense it was hard to ignore.
"What do you think you’re doing? You want to lose those eyes?!"
Summer Beckett threatened viciously.
"It’s not that, I just feel like I’ve seen Chloe somewhere before."
Evan Lawson thought about it for a long while but still couldn’t place her, so he dropped it.
He scanned the area, and seeing that everyone had arrived, he prepared to start the free-form activities.
The area was huge, so everyone could do their own thing without getting in each other’s way.
Summer saw Chloe Sinclair beside him, looking eager to give it a try, so he said, "Want to give it a shot?"
Ever since Chloe Sinclair had pulled off that Loop Run, he had been trying to do it himself, only to find it was a completely impossible feat for him.
He had asked her in private how she’d done it, and Chloe Sinclair told him it was all about calculation.
But even when he tried to work out the calculations, completing the Loop Run still felt like a pipe dream.
Now that he had finally managed to get her out here, he was determined to have Chloe perform the Loop Run again, no matter what.
’Let everyone see what she can do!’
Chloe Sinclair didn’t refuse.
She just hadn’t warmed up yet, so she moved to the side to stretch a little.
The weather was cold, and many surfaces were rusted and slick with water. The slightest misstep could lead to an accident.
She certainly wasn’t going to be reckless with her own safety.
Just then, a girl who was practicing wall jumps saw Chloe Sinclair’s clumsy-looking warm-up routine and let out a snort.
"If you don’t know what you’re doing, you shouldn’t be here. Don’t blame us for not warning you when you fall and break something."
Chloe Sinclair looked up, a flicker of confusion in her eyes.
The girl in front of her looked to be around twenty. Her makeup was so elaborate it was hard to tell what she actually looked like.
After a moment’s thought, Chloe Sinclair was certain she didn’t know this person.
’Such unprovoked hostility...’
Seeing that Chloe Sinclair wasn’t responding, the girl did a flashy diving roll off the stairs to show off.
But just as she launched, her foot slipped. The girl’s form fell apart in midair, and she came crashing down to the ground with a loud THUD.
Chloe Sinclair: "..."
’Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.’
With a soft sigh, Chloe Sinclair looked at the girl who was lying on the ground, in too much pain to get up, and simply walked around her.
It was a hard fall, but luckily, she hadn’t jumped from very high.
Unfortunately for her, she had landed right in a puddle of grimy water. And while she hadn’t landed face-first, her clothes were soaked.
Everyone was only wearing fleece-lined hoodies, and now that hers was wet, she couldn’t help but shiver in the cold wind.
Completely humiliated, the girl snorted at Chloe Sinclair and stormed off.
Everyone else was left utterly bewildered.
