Shawn Styles: "..."

Shawn Styles had no idea what he said after that, much less how he ended up in Jasper Shaw’s Bentley on the way home.

By the time he unlocked his front door, he was in a complete daze.

He plopped down on the sofa, but it felt like he was sitting on a thousand needles, making him restless. He had to get up and pour himself a glass of water.

After drinking the water, he took a quick shower and crawled into bed to sleep.

Meanwhile, Chloe Sinclair and Jasper Shaw had also returned to the apartment building.

However, Jasper only walked her to her door and didn’t go inside.

Before leaving, Jasper said, "I’ll come pick you up tomorrow morning."

Chloe Sinclair wanted to refuse, but seeing the determination in his eyes, she knew she couldn’t. So, she nodded.

She stood on her tiptoes and gave his cheek a quick, fleeting peck.

"Good night."

"And... drink less from now on. It’s bad for your health."

Jasper froze for a moment, then his heart burst with joy.

He eagerly agreed, "Okay, I’ll listen to whatever my little lifesaver says."

The man’s voice was so smooth it sent a tingle through her. Chloe Sinclair’s ears flushed, and she playfully tapped Jasper’s chest. "Don’t you dare flirt with me!"

The man chuckled. "I’m not flirting with you."

Chloe Sinclair rolled her eyes at him. "And you say you’re not!"

With that, she shut the door with a CLICK.

Jasper almost walked right into it. Staring at the dark door, he had a hint of helpless amusement in his eyes.

Standing outside, Jasper said, "Little one, get some rest tonight. I’ve already tidied up the books on your bed. And you don’t need to cook tomorrow, I’ll bring you breakfast..."

Jasper continued talking for several minutes, but Chloe Sinclair didn’t respond.

But Jasper wasn’t angry. Instead, his reminders became even more detailed.

Finally, a muffled voice came from behind the dark door. "I know, I know."

Only after hearing her voice did Jasper finally leave.

Hearing the silence outside, Chloe Sinclair opened the door to find that Jasper was gone.

She closed the door and trotted over to the window in her room.

This window happened to look out over the area below.

Before long, Chloe Sinclair saw a man in black emerge from the building’s entrance, holding an umbrella. He looked like he had just stepped out of a manga.

The man seemed to sense her gaze and suddenly looked up, his dark eyes meeting Chloe Sinclair’s perfectly.

Chloe Sinclair froze, then quickly mouthed something. Seeing no reaction from him, she waved.

Jasper smiled, raised his hand, and waved back at Chloe Sinclair.

Once inside the car, Ian Winters immediately said, "Boss, President Warren invited you for drinks at the bar tonight. Should we go?"

Without even thinking, Jasper replied, "No. Chloe doesn’t like me drinking. She says it’s bad for my health."

Ian Winters: "..."

Even someone as refined as him couldn’t help but feel the urge to curse.

’He can’t go two sentences without mentioning his girlfriend, and now he’s just shamelessly showing off to me!’

But he forced a smile onto his face. "In that case, I’ll decline President Warren on your behalf, Boss."

"Should I just say that your girlfriend won’t let you drink?"

Hearing this, Jasper raised an eyebrow.

"Ian Winters, you’re getting a raise tomorrow."

"Thank you, Boss."

With that, the Bentley’s headlights flicked on, the engine roared, and the car quickly disappeared down the apartment complex’s small road.

The next morning, Jasper arrived bright and early.

He was carrying a breakfast he had ordered from the hotel the night before.

Chloe Sinclair got out of bed, a hint of weariness still on her face.

She opened the door with dark circles under her eyes.

Jasper: "Did you stay up late last night?"
