Chloe Sinclair looked up at Jasper Shaw, a little dazed.

She yawned. "There was an academic concept I couldn’t figure out yesterday, so I was looking into it."

Chloe Sinclair wasn’t lying.

After Jasper Shaw left last night, she had continued to complete tasks in the God of Study System.

But the thousands of pieces of equipment had left her exhausted. It had been almost half a month, and she had only managed to memorize a few dozen instruments.

A sudden wave of fatigue washed over her, making it impossible to muster any interest.

Jasper Shaw frowned and raised a hand to feel her forehead. He breathed a sigh of relief when he found she didn’t have a fever.

At the same time, he realized this was a serious issue and that he needed to have a proper talk with her.

He familiarly retrieved his pair of slippers from the shoe cabinet, placed the breakfast on the dining table, and then led Chloe Sinclair to the sofa to sit down.

"Are you tired from studying?"

Chloe Sinclair’s daily reading volume was astonishing. Even he probably didn’t have her kind of stamina.

But Chloe Sinclair shook her head. "I just feel like my wish is too naive, and my grand plan is too ambitious."

She had naively thought she could handle anything, but after truly entering Eight’s world, she realized just how naive she had been.

Forget about enabling humanity to travel through the universe; she probably couldn’t even build a single component of a spaceship.

After hearing Chloe Sinclair’s words, Jasper Shaw instantly understood what she meant.

"Chloe, think of all the great figures in history. Most of them didn’t know what they wanted to do at first. Some even spent decades going in circles in a dead end before finally finding a way out."

"They simply kept exploring throughout the process, never knowing what challenges they would face along the way."

Jasper Shaw’s eyes were full of tenderness as he asked in a soft, gentle voice, "Chloe, you understand what I’m saying, right?"

Chloe Sinclair paused.

Of course she knew what Jasper Shaw meant.

At the same time, his words were an epiphany, making her realize what she had to do.

Right now, she was like someone who had wandered into a dead-end alley and couldn’t find her way out.

’But if I just keep going, keep searching, is it really impossible to find a path forward?’

’Should I just give up studying the moment I run into a problem?’

A flash of joy appeared in Chloe Sinclair’s eyes. "Jasper Shaw, thank you!"

With that, she unhesitatingly gave his cheek a big smooch.

Jasper Shaw froze, watching her run over to the dining table, still a bit stunned.

He touched his cheek.

It tingled and felt a little itchy.

He quickly composed himself, his expression becoming unreadable.

Seeing Chloe Sinclair picking the sweet potatoes out of her millet porridge piece by piece, he couldn’t help but say, "No picky eating."

Chloe Sinclair looked up and shook her head. "Back when I lived in the countryside, I had to eat sweet potatoes every day. I don’t want them anymore."

What she didn’t tell Jasper Shaw was that, in the countryside, those sweet potatoes were almost exclusively used as pig feed; people wouldn’t eat them.

The only reason she ate sweet potatoes every day was because her foster parents had never intended to give her proper meals.

Jasper Shaw was silent for a moment. He moved the sweet potatoes Chloe Sinclair had picked out into his own bowl. "It’s fine. You have a boyfriend who isn’t a picky eater."

He would have to take care of anything she didn’t want to eat.

Chloe Sinclair felt a little embarrassed. After a soft "mhm," she lowered her head and started digging into her food.

At 7:40, Jasper Shaw dropped Chloe Sinclair off at the sports training center.

But the moment she arrived, something happened.
