Chapter 365 - 454: Blah Blah Blah
As expected, Aaron Archer was immediately tempted by Chloe Sinclair’s offer.
He considered his current situation. He wasn’t the least bit worried that Chloe Sinclair was a con artist trying to get something for nothing. After all, besides the clothes on his back, he had nothing of value for her to take.
Gritting his teeth as if making a monumental decision, Aaron Archer nodded. "Alright, I’m in!"
Hearing this, a slight smile touched the corners of Chloe Sinclair’s lips. She said softly, "I look forward to working with you."
"I look forward to it, too."
The words had just left his mouth when Aaron Archer felt a sudden pang of regret. He quickly asked, "About the research papers..."
Chloe Sinclair smiled. "Don’t worry. We’ll exchange contact info in a bit, and I’ll draft a contract. If you’re not satisfied with the terms, we can terminate our partnership at any time."
Seeing that Aaron Archer still looked worried, Chloe Sinclair could only add, somewhat resigned, "If you’re still not convinced, you can expose me online."
Aaron Archer looked up, his eyes filled with confusion.
Chloe Sinclair sighed in resignation. "I’m a freshman at Emberfall University. You can find information about me online. If you don’t believe me, look me up right now."
Aaron Archer glanced at his phone, stunned for several seconds. With trembling hands, he unlocked the screen and searched for Chloe Sinclair’s name. There wasn’t a lot of information, but the photos online were undeniably of the young woman in front of him. In fact, she was even more beautiful in person.
He continued his search, his hands still trembling as he looked through forum posts and social media pages for any mention of Chloe Sinclair. Only then was he completely convinced.
"Aren’t you studying Physics?"
’Physics and biology... those are two completely different worlds.’
Chloe Sinclair took a sip of her coffee and said calmly, "I’m also taking up mathematics next semester."
Aaron Archer was speechless. "..."
’It’s infuriating to compare yourself to others.’
Regardless, Chloe Sinclair’s willingness to reveal her identity had completely lifted the weight from Aaron Archer’s shoulders.
"I’m willing to work with you."
He knew Chloe Sinclair was much younger than he was, but he felt nothing but admiration and respect for her.

After they exchanged contact information, Chloe Sinclair quickly drafted a contract. The terms within showed the utmost respect for the employee.
Chloe Sinclair showed the contract to Eight. After looking it over, Eight clucked its tongue. "Master, aren’t you giving away too much?"
The contract stipulated that, as long as it didn’t interfere with their primary duties, employees would have free access to the lab and some research materials. Chloe Sinclair would also take no part in any future publications or claim any portion of the patent fees.
"What if they all just end up working on their own projects?" Eight was worried, disagreeing with the terms of Chloe Sinclair’s contract.
"Maybe you should change it?"
Chloe Sinclair shook her head, her tone resolute. "Absolutely not."
"Why not? Once this contract is out there, how will the institute make any money? Even if it’s not profitable, it can’t be a loss-making venture, right?"
Eight’s line of thinking was simple.
Chloe Sinclair would surely have many more research projects in the future. Once this contract became the standard, there was no telling how much money she would lose.
"Full-time employment after just three months? What if they don’t produce any results? Not everyone is an Aaron Archer! And you’re providing the lab and equipment for free? Do you have any idea how expensive real estate is? How hard it is to procure materials? Even with all the money your dad, your brother, and your boyfriend have, it wouldn’t be enough for you to burn through like this!"
Chloe Sinclair hadn’t even had a chance to speak before Eight started rambling on and on.
