Jester Doll
The Jester Doll approached Lin Ye unhurriedly. Lin Ye climbed up the ladder onto the ground, but he didn’t rush to flee. Instead, he stepped backward while observing the Jester Doll’s movements.
During his escape earlier, Lin Ye had memorized the terrain of this area. As long as the doll wasn’t much faster than him, it would struggle to catch up before he ran out of stamina.
Seeing that Lin Ye wasn’t in a hurry to run, the Jester Doll pulled several sharp throwing knives from behind its back.
Spotting the knives, Lin Ye’s eyes lit up. Instead of fleeing, he provocatively flipped the Jester Doll the middle finger.
The smile on the Jester Doll’s face grew even more exaggerated. It hurled four throwing knives straight at Lin Ye.
Lin Ye dodged the attack coming from behind, then grabbed the rabbit doll that had been sneaking up on him and used it as a shield to block those four knives.
He had considered fighting these dolls before, but there were dolls of all kinds everywhere, and his stamina was limited. Even if he managed to kill one or two, it wouldn’t make much difference. Besides, he didn’t know if there would be consequences for killing them. Now, he could use the Jester Doll to test it out.
The throwing knives plunged into the rabbit doll’s body, piercing straight through. A torrent of dark red blood gushed like a fountain onto the ground. The rabbit doll let out a piercing scream, then went completely still.
The smile vanished from the Jester Doll’s face. It pulled another four throwing knives from behind its back and hurled them at Lin Ye.
Before the knives left the doll’s hand, Lin Ye had already begun his evasive maneuver. All four knives struck the ground, the closest one landing just a centimeter from Lin Ye’s heel.
Heavy footsteps echoed from every direction. A massive crowd of dolls was closing in.
Those dolls had already surrounded the area. No matter how fast Lin Ye ran, he couldn’t escape the encirclement.
The Jester Doll drew another four throwing knives. It strode quickly behind Lin Ye, ready to throw at any moment.
Lin Ye immediately changed direction, sprinting at full speed toward a ride on the side. He had anticipated this scenario, so he had already prepared a plan.
The Jester Doll’s movement speed was only slightly slower than Lin Ye’s top speed. It kept hurling knives at him, but Lin Ye dodged every one in advance.
After running about four hundred meters, Lin Ye finally reached his target—an abandoned giant steel structure, a massive roller coaster with a vertical height of over two hundred meters.
Before the dolls could surround him, Lin Ye vaulted over the steel fence and jumped into the roller coaster’s enclosure.
The Jester Doll threw another set of knives, but this time, it wasn’t aiming at Lin Ye. It was targeting the dolls closing in on it.
Lin Ye climbed onto the roller coaster’s track and began sprinting at full speed across the steel framework. He needed to reach a higher section of the track to shake off the dolls chasing him.
A flood of dolls surged into the ride area. The Jester Doll led the pack, with the others following close behind.
Lin Ye turned back and flipped the Jester Doll the middle finger, then started climbing toward the top of the track.
The Jester Doll silently followed Lin Ye, killing any doll that got too close with its throwing knives.
The roller coaster track was a curve close to sixty degrees. Lin Ye had to use all four limbs to climb steadily. Even with gloves on, he could feel the cold radiating from the steel rails.
The Jester Doll climbed up the track behind Lin Ye. Because it had to deal with the dolls behind it, its climbing speed was about the same as Lin Ye’s.
Once he reached a certain height, Lin Ye took a stone from his pocket and tossed it downward—a spare weapon he had picked up on the ground earlier.
The stone hit the Jester Doll square on the head. It didn’t knock the doll off the track, but it slowed its climbing pace.
The Jester Doll glared up at Lin Ye, a furious expression on its face.
Lin Ye flipped it another middle finger before continuing to climb.
This time, the Jester Doll didn’t follow. Instead, it threw knives downward, clearing the dolls climbing up, and then retreated back to the ground.
“Too bad. It actually went back.”
Lin Ye had wanted to lure the Jester Doll up here and finish it off, but it hadn’t fallen for the trick.
“That’s a problem. I can’t hold out here for long.”
Lin Ye leaned against the steel rail, observing the terrain below. As far as he could see, there were only various rides. He couldn’t even spot the boundary of the amusement park.
The Jester Doll quickly made its way back to the ground, killing any dolls that approached as it barged into the roller coaster’s control room.
“Huh? It can start the roller coaster?”
Lin Ye had checked the facilities earlier. There was no electricity in this amusement park.
Not long after, the Jester Doll activated the roller coaster. It killed the dolls near the ride and sat down in the very front row.
It was going to ram Lin Ye off the track.
“Looks like I have to go all out.”
Lin Ye flipped the middle finger at the Jester Doll sitting on the roller coaster.
The roller coaster began its ascent. Since it was the first uphill climb, the speed was very slow.
Lin Ye didn’t rush to move. He was going to take down the Jester Doll on this slope.
The Jester Doll stood on the front of the car, its eyes locked onto Lin Ye. Eight throwing knives were clutched in its two hands.
“Idiot.”
Lin Ye held up his middle finger, waiting for the roller coaster to get closer. He watched every subtle movement of the Jester Doll, both its whole body and its parts, ready to strike.
The Jester Doll glared at Lin Ye in fury, but it didn’t lose its mind to rage. It was thinking about how to take him out.
As the roller coaster approached, the Jester Doll suddenly swung its hands, but the knives didn’t leave its grip. It was still holding them.
Lin Ye didn’t move at all. He had seen through the Jester Doll’s feint. The doll hadn’t put full force into the motion, and its limbs hadn’t moved through the proper range.
By then, the roller coaster’s front car had reached Lin Ye. The Jester Doll threw the knives a second time. This time, it sealed off every direction Lin Ye could move. No matter which way he dodged, the knives would hit him!
Lin Ye suddenly shifted his feet backward and let himself drop naturally between the steel rails. As he fell below the track, he grabbed a rail with one hand and the side of the track with the other.
The roller coaster passed overhead. Because it wasn’t moving fast, Lin Ye was able to catch the section of rail between two wheels.
Then, with a sudden burst of force, he used the technique of Heavy Strike to launch himself into the air.
One of the knives struck the steel rail, bouncing up into the air. Lin Ye caught it with one hand while gripping the roller coaster seat’s handle with the other.
Pulling with both hands, he flipped himself onto a seat. As he spun, he used the centrifugal force to hurl the stolen knife at the Jester Doll in the front row!
