She kept telling herself not to care, but her heart still felt heavy.

It seemed she was growing increasingly attached to Stephan. If one day she broke up with him, would he end up marrying Darla?

But she didn’t want him to marry another woman one day.

If he doesn’t marry another woman, then... would he marry her?

Would his parents accept her?

If his parents didn’t accept her, what kind of ending would she and Stephan have?

Would they stay together, or be forced apart?

When Alana thought about this, her eyelid twitched violently.

What was going on?

She was clearly so against marriage...how could she be imagining herself marrying Stephan in the future?

When she first got together with him, wasn’t it... just to date?

The more she thought about it, the more confused she became.

Alana had lost all desire to cook noodles for herself. She decided to boil some water,

make herself a bowl of instant noodles, and just get it over with.

Just as the noodles were ready and she was about to sit down to eat, she heard the door open.

With the noodles in her mouth, Alana heard the sound, slurped them down in one go, and without a second thought, carried the bowl out of the kitchen.

Stephan was standing in the entryway, taking off his black leather shoes.

Alana looked at the man’s handsome, striking features and suddenly found the instant noodles in her mouth tasted even better.

She was pleasantly surprised. “Weren’t you out for a business dinner? Why are you back so early?”

He slipped on his slippers, then took off his black tailored jacket and walked toward her.

“Didn’t you say you missed me? My girlfriend is all alone and feeling lonely and cold at home. As a considerate boyfriend, of course I’d hurry back to keep you company.”

Alana smiled sweetly.

The frustration she’d been feeling just moments ago crumbled away and vanished in the face of his sweet talk.

That’s right!

They were still in the honeymoon phase; they couldn’t let some woman’s idle chatter

affect their relationship.

Stephan sensed something was off, and his gaze involuntarily fell on the cup of instant noodles the girl was holding. “What are you eating?”

She replied, “Instant noodles.”

He walked over to Alana and saw that the cup of instant noodles she was holding contained only rehydrated noodles and a few scattered vegetable pieces...not even any meat.

He couldn’t help but frown. “Just instant noodles? Is this how you treat yourself when I’m not around?”

Alana blinked and said earnestly, “No, instant noodles are pretty tasty. They smell great. Don’t believe me? Try some.”

The girl picked up a forkful of noodles and held it to the man’s lips.

Stephan had never eaten instant noodles before. He’d heard that instant noodles were junk food...unhealthy and unsanitary so he instinctively resisted and refused to eat it.

He turned his head away. “I’m not eating it. Instant noodles aren’t hygienic.”

Alana had enthusiastically invited him to bring her some food, but she never expected to be left hanging.

“Fine, if you won’t eat it, I will.” She pulled her hand back, ready to shove the instant noodles into her own mouth.

Stephan suddenly reached out and snatched the fork and noodles from her hand. “You’re not allowed to eat it either!”

“Huh?!”

He looked somewhat exasperated. “Everyone says it’s unsanitary...why are you

still eating it?”

Alana replied earnestly, “But I don’t eat it often. Sometimes work is just too exhausting, and I’m too lazy to cook, so I just make some instant noodles. It doesn’t really matter.”

Stephan couldn’t help but ruffle her hair, chuckling, “You little... If you’re too lazy to cook, just tell me, and I’ll make something for you right away.”

Alana replied earnestly, “But you just got back from a business dinner. I don’t want you to be too tired.”

Stephan retorted with a straight face, “Cooking for my girlfriend is a pleasure, not a chore.”

Her eyes lit up. “Is that true?”

He chuckled, “Why would I lie to you? Give me a kiss, and I’ll cook for you right away.”

Hearing this, Alana couldn’t wait, she stood on her tiptoes and kissed him on the lips.

Stephan wasn’t satisfied. He wrapped his arms around her waist and kissed her passionately for a long time.

He didn’t let her go until her legs were weak from the kiss.

Then, he tossed the instant noodles Alana had prepared into the trash can, rolled up his sleeves, and headed to the kitchen to cook for her.

Alana looked at the half-eaten instant noodles in the trash can and felt a pang of

regret.

“It’s okay to have them once in a while. You didn’t have to throw them away. That’s wasting the farmers’ hard-earned grain!”

Stephan shot her a sidelong glance, a smirk playing on his lips. “I’m throwing it away. What are you going to do about it?”

Alana scoffed.

After a moment of silence, she deliberately raised her little fist. “I’ll beat you up!”

Stephan glanced at the girl’s tiny pink fist, white, soft, and delicate.

If she hit him with that little fist, would it really hurt him, or would it just feel good?

He pressed his tongue firmly against his cheek, as if to restrain himself, then raised his hand without hesitation and undid the buttons of his shirt. “Go ahead, hit me! I’ll strip naked for you to hit!”

Alana saw the man eagerly undoing the top few buttons of his shirt, revealing his delicate, handsome collarbone.

She blushed in shock and quickly took a few steps back. “I won’t hit you, I won’t hit you!”

She was really afraid she would give him too much of a thrill.

Stephan chuckled.

Even if she did beat him, he wouldn’t actually do anything to her...he’d just pamper her in bed afterwards.

Stephan stopped teasing her and walked over to inspect the things she had just bought.

Several large bags...who knew what she’d bought.

“Did you buy all this at the supermarket just now? What’s this?”

He casually pulled out a bag of snacks.

Alana walked over and explained, “These are potato chips!”

“Potato chips?” Stephan frowned. What on earth was this?

“I’ve never had these in my life.”

Alana sighed. “Yeah, they’re made by slicing potatoes and frying them. There are tomato, beef, and lots of other flavors. My favorite is the tomato one...it’s really good. If you want to try some, go ahead and open it!”

Stephan wasn’t particularly interested in this kind of snack, so he didn’t plan on eating any.

He took another look and noticed that there weren’t just potato chips, there were all sorts of random snacks: spicy strips, cookies, bread, spicy chicken feet, sunflower seeds, and more...

There were even several packs of instant noodles, all in different flavors.

There were so many items, many of which Stephan had never even heard of or seen before.

He glanced at Alana’s slightly rounded belly.

“You bought this much...are you going to be able to finish it all?”

Alana blinked and nodded earnestly, “Of course I can finish it all, it’ll only take a few days.”

If they couldn’t finish it all at home, she could take it to work and enjoy a few snacks during her break...it would be pure bliss.

Stephan chuckled, “Lana, do I not provide you with enough to eat?”

Alana shook her head. “No, my regular three meals a day are completely different from these snacks, you can’t compare them.”

Stephan checked the ingredient lists on some of the snacks and said irritably,

“These are all junk food. Look at the ingredients...the preservatives and flavor enhancers added to them are all harmful to your health. You just said you only eat them occasionally but bought this much, are you sure it’s just ‘occasionally’?”

Alana pouted.

This guy was so nagging, he was even more controlling than her own grandmother.

“Throw it all away.” With that, he pretended to toss all those random snacks into the trash can.

Alana quickly wrapped her arms around him, clinging to his waist to stop him. “No, no, no...don’t throw them away! I’ll only buy them this once, eat them this once...I won’t buy them again.”
