Helping with Adventurer Party Management

Episode 176: The Wrath of Ghoulzin

I put up my index finger looking into Goulzin's eyes and started explaining.

"There is one opportunity before us right now."

"You think it's an opportunity?" Goulzin repeats.

"That's right. It's your chance to ride the money stream."

"Ho? I don't think you should listen to him. Tell me more."

I nod when I see Goulzin get himself out, and I explain ahead.

"Do you know that in the kingdom nobility and the Church are beginning to squabble ahead and pour funds into the development of agricultural land"

"I don't know that much of a story. I just hear it's getting harder to hire people. I hear the market for adventurers is up, too. Shoes are good for sale. You mean there's money in the pipeline?"

In a feudal society, the upper echelons are not keen to explain policy shifts, so there is a time difference in the transmission of information to lower-tiered people like adventurers.

Still, merchants as eye-catching as Goulzine seemed to grasp something going on from daily price fluctuations and people's flows.

"Oh. My story is, let's get on with it."

"What? Now you want to start a pioneering business?"

Because pioneering is popular, I'll do it myself. Naturally speaking, I denied it.

"When pioneering becomes popular, what do you do when you start a pioneering business? The people who make the most money from pioneering are the ones who sell the tools of pioneering."

There are many practical examples of this in the original world. For example, it is said that the most lucrative American gold rush was the manufacturing company that sold jeans as robust work clothes to the chicken miners who came from all over the United States for a thousand dollars.

"I see. So?

"So, I'm building a fringe with the church. He also succeeded in selling shoes to a group of young people guiding the pioneering of the Church. From there, you sell shoes to people involved in pioneering the whole church. And to the churches throughout the kingdom."

"... it's a big story."

"That's right. As one of the (backs) behind the company (of which), I want you to agree to expand your business"

"Can I bite you?"

"I don't know. Honestly, I think it's up to you."

"It's up to me, you say?

Goulzin wrinkled between his eyebrows to make him look grumpy.

"That's right. This story is a big story. It will probably be a church-led story. I have manufacturing skills and church geography, so I can eat deep into the business. But the Church has its own means of distribution throughout the kingdom. You might be able to recommend it from me, but you won't be able to monopolize it like a pair of guardian shoes."

"... Shit. I guess. Church opponents don't get it right."

"I would like to take this opportunity to increase the volume of footwear manufactured in the near future more than I do now."

"How long?

"Per sight, ten times in three years"

Goulzin got angry when I told him.

"Ten times? You're dreaming."

"Really? For the first time, you're leading a hundred human beings with a hand-to-hand fist. Compared to that, there's not going to be a 10x."

"Adventurers are not the same number of people rolling around and skilled shoemakers who can make protective shoes! There's no way a craftsman like that could have ten times as many in three years!

"I can. In the first place, we've increased it from one to 20 in a year. There's nothing we can't do in three years."

I don't show you the attitude I give way to, so it seems rather frightened than grumpy, Goulzin.

"You're serious, you. You're crazy."

"I've been told a lot lately. So, what are you gonna do? Are you willing to make the caravan bigger than it is now?

I asked, staring into Goulzin's eyes.

Depending on his response, you might see blood.
