After the glitch, Morden stared at the new pop up screen with a mild shock on his face. He had managed to get the amount of Gene shards needed for another evolution but now he couldn’t access it anymore.

His growth level was just too low. Though he wasn’t satisfied with that kind of situation there was not actually anything he could do to it.

’Sigh’

"Evolution is so close yet so far,"

While he was distracted by all of those notifications, the Abyssal monkey leader had already arrived in front of him, the heavenly leader’s head clutched in his fist.

Woooh!

The leader made out while pointing back to the direction of his settlement. Morden saw that and didn’t attempt to wait or hesitate, he just nodded gently before turning to leave with the Abyssal leader closely behind.

Though he still had the capability to run back, he knew the Abyssal leader was absolutely the leader, his injuries were gruesome and brutal. There were already so many that his golden fur had already died red in blood.

He could have gone ahead but Morden just didn’t trust this side of the mountain. Anything could pop out from anywhere at any freaking time making this place even more unsettling.

Though the two of them walked at a slow to medium pace, they were able to quickly get to the border between both sides and cross over to the dark Abyssal side.

The moment they got to the Abyssal side, Morden just looked up to nod at the Abyssal leader before sprinting off into the distance. He was headed back to the battlefield.

’I wonder why my Genetic Tree didn’t grow after this battle, don’t they have Vitale energy for me to absorb or what?’

He had been thinking about it since he had gotten his first kill here but due to the intensity of the current situation, he couldn’t think too much of it.

’Let’s go test it out one more time,’

He quickened his pace just so he could get there much faster and thankfully he actually did. He arrived at the raging battlefield that looked much worse than how things were when he left earlier, there were more bodies sprawled all around and the ground and trees were dead an even deeper shade of red.

"This is crazy," Morden muttered as he slowly scanned the surroundings for his new opponent and it didn’t take long for him to find one.

A Common-grade Golden Monkey was chasing about three smaller monkeys, from their size it was obvious that they were still children.

"I guess you are going first," Morden said while rushing towards his opponent, the Ghost slayer sword held tightly in his hands.

He arrived just in time to save one of the children from getting impaled by a throwing spear and he definitely made sure his opponent got a great taste of what was coming.

Due to how surprised his opponent was by his sudden appearance, it was safe to say that Morden could end the Battle in a single slash but he didn’t.

He started with a slash to the arm, disarming his opponent cleanly, followed by another slash to the stomach.

Wuuuu!!!

Combined with all of this was a full blown kick to the chest knocking his opponent down in any instant.

"This is what bastards like you deserve," he said while sending a final slash to the neck and just like that his opponent was out of it without too much effort.

Ever since this battle had started, battle-novice Morden had been slowly getting better, he had seen how even Beast used weapons and abilities and he had been slowly adapting and now he was becoming more and more like a standard Bearer.

Since he was done with his current battle, he scanned the surroundings for anything else or any other beast that could help as his target.

During his scan, he saw a myriad of opponents, some of them even being Uncommon-grade beasts but he couldn’t approach those guys for now especially since he didn’t have the vital energy required to use boost anymore.

"I should feel ashamed for trying to prey on the weak," he said out loud while he was about to approach another enemy.

Roooooarrrrrr!!!!!!!

The Victorious roar of the Abyssal leader suddenly sounded from not too far away. From the intensity it was sure that he wasn’t far away at all.

" your presence before you even get here is a really good way to strike fear in your enemies, well-done,"

He already realized what the Abyssal leader wanted to do and he immediately commended him for it since he noticed it was actually working.

It was working extremely well at that.

The Heavenly Monkeys heard that roar and most of them were startled and frozen for a bit as they understood what that roar meant, especially the more troublesome Uncommon-grade ones.

After that Roar, the Abyssal didn’t just stop there as Morden saw a loud round object flying through the air with crazy Accuracy. If it were to actually Land, it would land directly in the center of the place where everyone currently battling could see it.

Who wouldn’t be completely flabbergasted if you saw the head of your leader being thrown over like a piece of rock.

"I see what you did there,"

The Abyssal leader’s plan worked again, even more than it was supposed to. The Heavenly Monkey saw their leaders head and the already demoralized monkeys immediately dropped their weapons.

In a synchronized motion they all turned around and ran like their lives depended on it, though it actually did. The guys on the Abyssal monkey side, Morden included, didn’t actually try to chase after them, they just watched them leave.

"Your plan has worked,"

If Morden guessed right, the Abyssal leader mustn’t have come here directly to prevent the Heavenly Monkeys from seeing him so injured and having a little hope.

So he delivered the message without exposing himself.

Soon the battlefield was clear and only there were people he had fought together with.

That moment of peace was the exact moment when he felt it. A large amount of vital energy was flowing through him.

"ohhh, it actually arrived."
