Chapter 429: Morrison Davies
A few moments after Michael had finished speaking, the information about the person was transmitted to him through the earpiece.
"Morrison Davies. A captain of one of the teams within the combat branch of NEXUS, and is Evan Davies’ older brother. Evan was a recruit from the same batch as Kate.
During the 1 month training at the training camp, Evan targeted Kate, but in the end, he was expelled from the training camp because he started a fight.
Later on, Morrison intervened, using all of his accumulated merits, in order to allow Evan to continue staying within the training camp, and undergo the mutation serum injection.
But during the mutation serum injection, Evan was one of the recruits that ended up dying.
Currently, Morrison has just entered the capital. He arrived two days ago, and has been staying at the Four Seasons Hotel, room number 332.
The reason for his presence within the capital is to help stabilize the situation with the mutants. The information shared recently within some of the servers of the major forces within the country indicate that mutant activities are expected to increase.
From his recent activities, it can be proved that he has met with several mutants, but he did not take action. The identity of those mutants is of the same category as the group of mutants that Kate and Lina just took care of.
It was those mutants that had asked the four mutants to come over to the capital, and then, after their information was received within NEXUS, Kate’s team was assigned to deal with them.
From this, it can be easily inferred that the incident involving several mutants, despite the expectation of dealing with one, is related to Morrison.
Additionally, the absence of Alex Dawson, the team captain, is also related to Morrison. This can be said to have been premeditated, and the intention is to bring harm to Kate.
At the moment, I cannot clearly tell what Morrison is doing in his room, because there is no any form of surveillance inside the room.
Additionally, he has not left the room ever since he checked in."
Michael listened to the information, and did not bother to understand what Morrison was currently doing.
From the analysis that had been made by Onyx, it was clear that this guy called Morrison was involved with the incident that Kate and Lina had faced.
For the reason why he could target Kate, it was obvious. He might be intending to take revenge for his brother, Evan. Or maybe, he felt that after his brother died, the merit points that he had used had been wasted.
Therefore, he might have been extremely anger to the extent that he wanted to rent his anger on Kate.
After receiving the information, Michael did not plan to continue wasting time. Since this guy had the intention of harming Kate, then, Michael had no any intention of leaving him alive.
Even though he had the plans to go and deal with him, he did not leave immediately. Instead, he went ahead and freshened up, as he had really engaged in several activities while out with the group.
Due to his physique, he could not sweat unless he was in an extremely hot environment, or he did things that manage to strain him.
It did not take long for him to complete freshening up, before he changed into a new pair of clothes. It was just a casual black trouser, and a blue t-shirt.
He put on a pair of black sneakers, before he finally walked out of his room.
When he reached the living room on the ground floor, he found that Henry was still there. This made Michael raise his brows slightly, wondering, what this guy was waiting for.
Upon seeing Michael coming over, Henry quickly stood up. He said, "I had something else that I needed to discuss with you. I was just about to leave, but grandpa just gave me some information that he would like to let you know."
Michael was slightly puzzled about the information that could be so important that it had to be conveyed by Henry.
Regardless, he just nodded, waiting for Henry to speak. But looking at the way that he was looking around, it was clear that the information that he was about to share was not something that was supposed to be heard by other people.
Therefore, Michael looked at Andrew, and Andrew immediately understood Michael’s gaze. He immediately instructed the other people within the living room to leave, and only come back if they were asked to.
Several seconds later, after everyone had left, only Michael and Henry were left in the living room.
Just in case, Henry looked around once again, just to be sure that they were the only ones here.
After confirming, he finally moved close to Michael and whispered, "Grandpa told me that the situation within the capital is going to change. Very soon, things are going to get out of hand, and the information about the mutants is going to start spreading.
He is not sure about the exact timeline of when these things would happen, but he told me to let you know. That way, you can be prepared, in case chaos suddenly erupt.
According to the information that he had received, it seems that some forces are about to make a move. It is inevitable that the capital, which has the highest concentration of forces within this nation, will be impacted.
He told me to tell you that if possible, you should bring the people that you care about close to you, or ensure their safety. Otherwise, it is very easy for them to be affected by what is going to happen in the next few days."
Michael frowned upon hearing this. Basically, the information that he had gotten through Onyx was that, things were getting chaotic within the capital.
But because it did not involve him that much, Michael did not bother to dig deep into this information. Therefore, it was only at this moment as Henry told him this that he realized that the situation might be more serious than he had anticipated.
For those that were within the capital, Michael was not really that much worried about them. Maybe, he could send a few bio humans with abilities to go and ensure their safety, especially the Wilsons.
Even though Henry had not mentioned anything about the Eastern province, it was inevitable that it would also be affected.
From what he understood, the Eastern province did not have any mutants. At least, the forces there did not have the qualification to know about the mutation serum, and to acquire it.
So, it was to be expected that the activity of the mutants would be limited within Brenton city. But that was not a guarantee.
Hence, Michael decided that he would have to make arrangements for the safety of old John and Rebecca, together with the others from the orphanage.
Even though they currently had shadow guards to protect them, the shadow guards were not strong enough. At least, they were not strong to give Michael the sense of security that he wanted.
"I understand. Thank you, when I get a chance, I will make sure to give you something in return for the information." Michael stated.
But Henry shook his head at Michael’s words. He said, "This information is not for sale. It is a show of grandpa’s care, and he is trying to make up for the lack of assistance during your hardest times."
Michael already understood the intentions of the old man. Clearly, the old man was still not giving up on the idea of having Michael go back to the Santos family.
Despite knowing this, Michael did not point it out. He did not respond either, instead, he changed the topic, "I need to go somewhere first. It might be for a while, so, you can decide to join the other guys and get a room and relax, or if you have any other business to handle, you can just go ahead.
I will make sure to give you a call when we need you so that we can go out again."
Henry was disappointed when he realized that Michael did not have much of a reaction to what he had just said. Still, he let out a deep breath as he said, "No problem. I will stay here for a while. Anyway, I have nothing to do. So, I might as well enjoy the luxury here for a while."
Michaels simply shrugged at that, before he turned to leave. He still had to handle a certain someone.
As he headed to the garage, he made sure to inform Onyx that he was to be informed in case any changes happened at the hotel.
Additionally, he asked Onyx to compile the information related to what Henry had just mentioned. When he came back, he would go through it. For now, his mind was set on dealing with Morrison first.
In the garage, Michael randomly selected that car, before he drove it out. The car keys were inside each car, and there was no worry about someone stealing the cars within the Mansion’s underground garage.
Four Seasons Hotel was located on the other side of the city. From the location of the mansion, Michael would have to go through the CBD, before he could get to the hotel.
The journey took him quite a while, but eventually, he arrived at the hotel.
The hotel was located among office towers, luxury apartments, and high-end shopping centers. Several major roads passed through the district, making it one of the busiest and most valuable areas in the city.
The hotel occupied a modern thirty-five-story building with a glass and stone exterior. Large windows covered much of the façade, while the hotel’s name was displayed above the main entrance.
In front of the building was a wide drop-off area with a covered entrance. Beyond it lay a spacious parking lot, where luxury sedans, executive SUVs, sports cars, and chauffeur-driven limousines were parked in neat rows.
Trees, trimmed hedges, flower beds, and a central fountain surrounded the parking area.
The main entrance was constantly attended by hotel staff, while security personnel monitored the driveway and parking lot.
After parking the car in the parking lot, Michael headed straight for the entrance of the hotel.
