Chapter 428: Got in Trouble?
The bulky guy was left confused about what was going on with these two. If they had not been beaten up, why was it that they had come back?
Despite the confusion that he was having, he could not get any answers to them. And looking at the two, they seemed to be having some kind of trauma, making it impossible for them to be able to tell him what had happened.
Kate also looked at the expressions of the two people, but did not show any sympathy. With one apple already rotten, there was a high probability that the entire basket was full of rotten apples.
There was a very low chance that these guys were not involved in shady activities. And one of the two people that had just returned, was the target that they were supposed to deal with.
A few moments after the two had entered, and went to stand next to the bulky guy who was standing with his back against the wall, Lina arrived at the scene.
She looked completely relaxed, but her demeanor made the bulky guy, who could not understand what had happened, to fear her.
From the previous conversation, he could tell that she was stronger than Kate. As for the methods that she could use, he could not tell. But definitely, they were terrifying.
"What should we do about these three? As for the other one, he will probably die before he receives any assistance." Kate asked as soon as Lina stood next to her.
"We can only wait until we can reach Alex. Or we can ask Michael, so that he can help us understand what is the situation with Alex. After that, it should be easy for us to be able to know the way forward." Lina shrugged as she responded.
Kate nodded in return, as she took out her phone, deciding to make a call to Michael. If they could understand what Alex was doing at the moment, they would be able to handle this situation, instead of staying here and wasting a lot of time waiting.
Within just a few rings, the call connected, and Michael’s voice came through the phone’s earpiece, "Got in trouble?"
Kate was rendered speechless when she heard that. Did Michael believe that she would only call him if she was in trouble?
She was just about to retort when she thought about it. That really seemed to be the case. After all, most of the times, if she wanted to see Michael, she did not have to make a call.
But most of the times that she had made a call, she needed Michael’s assistance. While she did not request for Michael’s help all the time, Michael still helped her out of several instances.
"I guess that is the situation. You should know about Alex, our team leader? Could you find any information on where he is at the moment?" Kate asked in a low voice.
"Give me a moment, let me look that up for you." Michael responded, before he went silent for several seconds.
"Currently, I am not sure of his exact location. But the last place that he had been located was at the training camp. As for if he had left or not, it is hard to know, because he seemed to have entered some secret chamber that does not have any electronics inside." Michael explained.
In actual sense, even though Michael was not paying much attention to what Kate was doing, that did not imply that nobody was.
Well, it was not a person, but an AI. Therefore, all the information regarding Kate, or the people that might affect her, was being collected by Onyx.
The information on Alex had already been collected, and Michael only had to ask, for Onyx to reply. He had to wait for those few seconds because he was still receiving the information.
"Ah... Okay, let me think of something else for the time being." Kate did not explain why she was looking for the information on Alex.
She believed that if Michael wanted to know, he would be able to know what they were doing. After all, was Lina not here? And Lina was working under Michael. Therefore, it would be quite simple for Michael to be able to know about the situation here.
After hanging up, she looked at Lina, and did not have to say anything, as Lina had already heard the conversation.
"You decide. We can decide to completely eliminate them, or we can take the trouble of bringing them back with us." Lina shrugged when Kate looked at her.
Kate contemplated for a moment, before she made a decision. Even though she had been ruthless with the guy who had provoked her first, she would not just kill the others without reason.
One of the three people standing on the side, they already had his information. But since he was the target of the mission, they would be required to take him in.
Because of this, it was not a good idea to kill him. Otherwise, there would be a lot of explaining to do, considering the information that NEXUS had on them.
"It should be simple for you to be able to make them follow us obediently, right? Otherwise, it would be too troublesome to watch over them all the time." Kate asked, having made a decision.
"That’s not an issue at all." Lina was as nonchalant as always.
With an SSS grade ability, doing something like this was very easy. That was especially against some mutants without abilities that could guard their minds.
Moreover, neither of the three mutants had any strong abilities. Therefore, it was very easy for her to be able to control them through distorting their senses.
Immediately after she finished speaking, she turned, and began to leave. Kate followed behind her, completely ignoring the three that were still standing in place.
The bulky guy was just about to seize this opportunity and make an escape. He could not deal with the two ladies directly, but when given a chance, he believed that he could escape.
But he had only taken one step when suddenly, he froze. Then in the next moment, his eyes widened, as if he had just seen something that shocked him.
Then about 2 seconds later, just like the two individuals beside him, he looked terrified. Then, he began moving towards the direction that Kate and Lina had just gone in.
The other two also followed suit, and just like that, a group of five left the abandoned building.
As for the guy who had been attacked by Kate, when the five left, he was still breathing. But even then, it was extremely difficult for him to be able to inhale, despite having much capability of exhaling.
Eventually, he could no longer hold on, and after his body spasmed a few times, he took his last breath, before he took the road to the underworld.

With Henry taking the lead, Michael and the rest of the group finally had a chance to go around the city.
They visited several places, and because they were out to have fun, Henry made sure that all the places that he took them to, they could have fun.
Additionally, because it was a combination of men and women, Henry was considerate enough to keep that in mind. Hence, all the places that they went to, did not favor a particular gender.
The group stayed out for quite a while, and it was only when evening was approaching that they finally decided to return to the mansion.
They had enjoyed themselves, but the group was kind of tired. It was mainly because they had just arrived, before they went out.
Even though most of the activities that they had engaged in were those that did not strain them, they still needed to rest.
When Michael realized this, he told Henry that it was time for them to go back. They could go out once again on the following day, and visit the other places that they might not have gone to.
Despite being disappointed that they had to go back, Henry still agreed. In any case, during these hours that they had spent together, his relationship with Michael had improved.
While it had not reached the same level as the relationship between Michael and the rest of the group, it was getting close.
Additionally, even though his main goal was to improve his relationship with Michael, he had enjoyed the day nonetheless. Thereby, he was looking forward to going out tomorrow.
Unlike today, he was going to make a thorough plan on the places that they would be going. That way, they would have a much more enjoyable experience.
When Alex and the rest of the group heard that it was time for them to go back, they felt both reluctant and relieved.
They had so much fun, that they didn’t not want to leave. But they still felt tired, and wanted to rest.
Two contradictory emotions clashed, but eventually, since Michael had made the decision for them to go back, nobody objected.
They all went back to the mansion, and went to the room that had been assigned to them before they left previously.
After everyone had gone to rest, Michael also went back to his room. At the same time, he asked Onyx, "I want you to give me all the information on the person that targeted Kate. Even though the plan did not work out this time, nobody can tell what would happen next.
Those that cross my path, or those that I care about, they have to face the consequences of their actions."
