Chapter 410: Trigger? Finally!
"Hey, don’t think too highly of yourself. I’m only calling because of Kate." Michael responded heartlessly.
For a moment, Raymond did not know how to respond. At the same time, inside Luxe KTV, he clutched his chest as if his heart was in pain.
A few moments later, he finally responded, his voice feeling sounding aggrieved, "Man, that’s not nice of you. How can you forget about your buddies as soon as you get a girlfriend?!"
Raymond was acting a little exaggeratedly, which was something that Michael was already used to. Ever since the relationship between Michael and Kate improved, this guy had been the first one to suggest for them to become a pair.
In fact, he was pushing hard, trying to make things work. Additionally, he eased up with Michael, showing a side of himself that not many people knew about.
"Anyway, there is someone coming over, is Chris Harrison. He is coming to see Kate’s mother, so, you can let her know about that. Tell her to accept the gift that I’m sending over." Michael eventually went to the point of the call.
"F*ck! Are you serious? Just what kind of gift is this that it needs someone to come over? And by the way, are you guys going to return to Brenton city? You should come and hang out with us from time to time, and we can show you how much we have improved in terms of marksmanship." Raymond exclaimed, before he continued.
"I don’t really have any plans of coming back there anytime soon, unless it is about Kate. Anyway, you guys know where the capital is, right? Just take a plane and come over when you are free." Michael responded.
"Are you serious?! You are willing to host us in the capital? You know, previously, even though we had the intention of visiting the capital, we were afraid. After all, without knowing anybody there, it would be easy to be taken advantage of." Raymond was obviously surprised by Michael’s offer.
"What do you think? Anyway, make sure to pass the message before that guy arrived. He has already left, and probably, in a few hours, he will be there." Michael stated, before ending the call without waiting for Raymond to say anything more.
Raymond intended to ask a few questions, but when he heard the tone indicating the end of the call, he went silent. Eventually, he looked at the ceiling, deep in thought.
"What did Michael tell you? It seems that it is something big judging by your reaction?!" Suddenly, Alex Walter’s voice brought Raymond back to his senses.
"Don’t worry about it, it is mostly about my family. Anyway, about you guys, Michael just told me that we can go visit him in the capital. What do you think?" Raymond shook his head as he said, still finding it hard to believe.
"Are you sure that you are not joking with us? You know, if we go to the capital, we might be able to find out more about just how big Michael’s background is?" Alex asked excitedly.
"Yeah, you guys should worry about that. After all, Michael and my cousin Kate are already a pair. Very soon, I’m going to be family with Michael. By then, you guys should look up to me." Raymond said as he patted his chest proudly.
"Look at you. From the way that you are acting, one might even think that you are the one that is getting married, and not your cousin. And by the way, I wonder just how Michael deals with that feisty girl." Dalton Anders commented from the side.
"Yeah, that girl, she was always fierce. Despite being younger than us, there is actually nobody within this group that can beat her." Someone interjected.
"What do you know? Have you already forgotten about the fact that Michael is a good fighter? He can deal with an interior group of professional fighters on his own. Even Beetle could not beat him." Alex retorted.
"You guys, if you dare speak any nonsense about my cousin, I will make sure that I tell her. And I believe that you already know the consequences of her knowing that you are talking sh*t behind her back." Raymond scowled.
Immediately, everyone suddenly shut up. In real sense, none of them wanted to deal with Kate. That was especially considering that she was currently Michael’s girlfriend.
If they ended up pissing her off, and Michael was involved, they would definitely suffer big time. Hence, immediately, they decided never to talk about Kate ever again.
Raymond looked at the people around him, seeing their expressions, he was satisfied. Even Alex did not dare just say anything about Kate.
"Hello, guys, should the performance continue?" Suddenly, a voice came through the speakers of the KTV.
When Michael called, the group was enjoying themselves, and there was a celebrity that had been invited by the KTV to perform. But the moment that Raymond realized that it was Michael who was calling, he immediately informed Alex and the others.
The response to this was that the performance was immediately halted, waiting for Raymond to speak with Michael first.
After understanding why Michael had called, the group had almost forgotten about the music artist that was on the stage, waiting for their signal to continue.
"Guys, since Michael has given the permission for us to go to the capital, I’m not going to continue staying here. I’m going to prepare myself, I’m grabbing the first flight to the capital tomorrow morning." Alex said as he stood up.
His words immediately left the group speechless. They had not anticipated that Alex would be so eager to go to the capital. But thinking about it, it seemed that they all thought the same.
Therefore, one by one, the others chimed in, also intending to leave on the following day.
Thereby, the lady that was performing on the stage was left in an awkward situation. She had only intended to continue performing, because she wanted to go somewhere else after she was done here.
Unexpectedly, her reminder seemed to be a trigger, as everyone was leaving. She was confused and dumbfounded at the same time. Internally, she could not help but reflect, what was so amazing that these guys were even willing to ignore her, just to go and prepare?
Since there was no music in the private room of the KTV, she could clearly hear the conversation between the group. Hence, she knew that they were talking about some guy called Michael.
Probably, he was a big shot in the capital? But that was doubtful. After all, how could one of the big shot young masters of the capital interact with a bunch of youngsters from a small city like Brenton city?
Despite how confused she was, she was bound to never receive answers to the questions that she had. In just a few moments, the KTV private room was deserted, with only her and her manager left.

The moment that Raymond returned to the Morgan residence, he immediately went to find the old man, Charles.
"What is it that made you come looking for me?" Charles asked the moment that he saw Raymond coming in.
This guy, because of his habit of hanging out with ’useless’ friends, he always tried to avoid meeting Charles. After all, almost each and every time that they met, Charles would nag him about this.
It was just that no matter how many times the old man attempted to change Raymond, the guy never changed. Even when his allowance was withheld to discourage him from hanging out with those kids, he still went on hanging out with them even without money.
Eventually, the old man would say a few words every few times that they met. But this kid, he obviously did not want to listen, and would try as much as possible to avoid meeting Charles.
This was the first time in a very long time that Raymond had come looking for him on his own accord. This was why the old man was surprised.
"Grandpa, I have good news. I just received a call from Michael, telling me that we should be expecting a guest from the capital." Raymond excitedly said, even forgetting to greet the old man.
Charles was about to scold him about this when he suddenly froze. The words that Raymond had just said begun sinking in, and he looked at Raymond with a doubtful gaze.
"What did you just say?" Charles asked, almost believing that he must not have heard clearly what Raymond had said.
Raymond did not think much and immediately repeated what he had just said. Immediately after he finished speaking, the old man suddenly erupted in laughter.
Raymond was shocked that he jumped from the scare. At the same time, he looked at the old man, confused as to why the old man was laughing. Could it be that he had said something funny?
Just as he was puzzled about this, the old man suddenly exclaimed, "Finally! Finally! It is happening!"
Raymond, confused, inquired, "Grandpa, what is happening? Were you expecting this from the start?"
"Kid, what do you know? From the fact that Michael is sending a gift, it is clear that he intends to make things official with that brat, Kate.
Do you understand what this implies? It means that even his family is not against the union between the two of them. Such a big background, yet they are not against this. This is definitely a chance for the Morgan family to rise." The old man explained in laughter.
