Kono Sekai ga Game da to, Ore dake ga Shitte Iru

Chapter Five: Legacy of the Bandit Meripe

Occasionally when I read a reasoning novel or something, I sometimes find a messy, elaborate dieing message or a map of a treasure with a slight focus.

Sometimes things reason well, but when you think calmly, you want to scratch that you don't have to draw such an elaborate map on your notes for yourself that you can leave such a tonne of good messages during death.

It was this New Communicate Online quest, Legacy of the Bandit Meripe, that did that in the game.

Meripe, who betrayed his people and ran away with the treasure, is hunted down and killed, but no matter how much he searched, he couldn't find the treasure that Meripe was supposed to have stolen.

Having obtained the notebooks left by Meripe from the moment, you rely on the tips left there to find your treasure.

It becomes a story like that.

It is something that seems common.

The only problem is this quest, the quote that made me fool around after three dungeons, eventually, 'What a treasure was buried in the garden of Meripe's house!! Does that mean the blue bird is waiting for a surprise och too?

I hid it in my own garden. Why did you bother to write a map? You really wanted someone to look for your treasure! Or maybe the guy who was looking for Meripe's treasure should check out the garden! I have a lot to say about that, but I just want to thank you for that this time.

- Actually, the house where Meripe lived is right behind the inn.

"Right here, right?

I even came to that garden that I recognize in games.

I get the impression that it feels a little different because I never visited it at night, but it probably fits here.

Unless it's basically a special event in New Communicate Online, we can't do anything like dig the ground or break the walls.

Also about "Legacy of the Bandit Meripe," I found tips in the game in three dungeons and couldn't dig the garden without properly flagging the event, but this is the real world.

There's no such limit, it should be.

"Sure, at the root of the tree...... here?

Stab the sword where you hit it.

Immediately, Katsun felt stiff.

"Is this a hit, or what?

Hide your inner excitement and use your sword and bare hands alternately to dig out what is buried.

But if you look at me now objectively, a man digging back into the ground in the garden of a man's house in such darkness.

This is already superbly suspicious.

Quite suspicious.

I was feeling somewhat like I was doing something wrong, not to mention the hindsight of skipping the event and cheating.

I dig the ground desperately, trying to get it over with quickly.

The dirt was stiffer than I thought and I had a hard time digging it back, but I was fortunate that it was shallow where it was buried.

Just a few minutes later, there was a black metal box in front of me.

"Heh, heh, yay..."

I didn't do much of anything, but I felt like I did something amazing.

Look around.

Fortunately, no one seems to have watched.

Gently, reach for the box.

It weighed pretty well.

This event is supposed to happen in the middle of nowhere.

I can expect quite a bit of the contents.

You should be mindful.

Again, I looked around.

No one seems to be watching.

"There's no sneaking around, is there?

I can't even say that my current abilities are flattering.

If a bandit with quite an arm even targets me, I honestly don't have a shot at winning.

No, there must have been this Meripe case more than fifty years ago in the making time.

There should be no one who knows the existence of this treasure in the first place, or who seems to have ownership of this box.

No one can be watching, and no one can tell this is a treasure.

I'm not digging the ground anymore, and suspicion should be a lot less.

Yeah, there's got to be nothing wrong with that.

"It's okay, it's okay"

Don't worry about anything.

Totally shaking away my fright, I looked around with an extra look.

After all, no one.

I quickly carried a black box.

Well, if you're ready, no worries.

One last time I looked around again, holding the box so that no one could find it, pushing it all over me, and I walked away on a small run.

It wasn't until after I got back to the inn that I realized I might find this unnecessarily suspicious.

"Whoa! Boy, you home! Dinner today..."

"Excuse me! Later, please!

I shook off the innkeeper's voice and walked into the room holding the box.

I'm out of breath even though I didn't do much exercise.

When Maki had 20,000 yen for the cost of some kind of event at school before, he remembered the story that all the people he met looked like thieves while going to school.

At that time, I wondered what I was freaking out about when it was only about 20,000 yen, but now I feel like I know how it feels.

No, I'm not that freaked out, but, well, I mean, I figured out just about 10% of the feelings.

"Okay...!

Put the black box on the bed and I set up in front of it.

I succeeded in getting the box safely, but that's only half of it.

There's a dialed lock in the middle of that box that's black, and you can't open the box unless you match the correct number.

"Do it, huh?

I remember the number clearly.

12076.

We memorized Meripe's legacy because he crushed it so many times when he did it.

However, the problem is......

"If I make a mistake, it sucks"

If you enter the wrong number and try to open the box, the high voltage current will flow and you will suffer heavy damage.

If such a thing is eaten at this stage, there is no doubt that it will die instantly.

But it's something I've taken because of it, and I have trouble talking to others and getting it taken away from me.

I hungry and numbered.

"... 1... 2... 0... 7... 6"

Match the numbers and check again when you are done.

One, two, zero, seven, six.

All right, I'm not wrong.

The numbers are uneven, and I can't believe I'm halfway there.

Nothing should go wrong with this.

"Open it, will you?

Hold both sides of the box with both hands.

Now all I have to do is lift my hand up and the box opens.

Or I can cook it.

No, that doesn't happen.

I am confident that the numbers match.

Just open this box for a second, and Meripe's legacy is mine.

Find the box.

12076.

The numbers remain the same.

That should do it.

No, would it really have fit with this number?

Actually, wouldn't it be 12067?

No, no, that's not possible.

You remembered so well.

"Phew."

Let go of my hand from the box once.

Wet the sweat on your hands, take a deep breath.

"Okay, I can go!

That's what I say and put myself in the mood.

I also thought I'd open it with a sword or something, but I stopped right away.

A current would be useless with a sword.

First of all, I'm sure the numbers match, so the rest is my problem.

It's all right.

This box was in the same place as the game.

The password is the same.

I'm ready, I'm ready, I'm ready, I'm ready.

"Hey kid! Dinner."

"Ugh!!

I jumped up to the voice I was called from behind.

Turning around, the innkeeper with his face out the door was turning his eyes round.

"Hey, what a voice.

You'd be surprised. "

"Nah... ugh!

My mouth just got puffy and I didn't have a voice right away.

I was told you'd be surprised, but it was this way that I was surprised.

I thought my heart would pop out.

"Please knock."

"Huh? Oh, bad, bad.

It wasn't locked, so, yeah.

Uh, I came to call you because dinner was ready... "

I was told that way while stroking my tight head, and I was drained of poison, too.

Speaking of which, he said dinner was included.

I may have a problem with not checking things out.

"... ok.

I'll be right there, just wait downstairs. "

"Whoa! There's only one more customer today with you, so come on in a minute!

How unpopular is this inn?

"... All right"

When the innkeeper's father left the room and made sure he went downstairs, this time I locked the room tightly and looked back to try the box again...

"Oh, my god, it's betta..."

I knelt on both sides of the ground.

The box was open.

He opened it reflexively to a clap that surprised him when he was called from behind.

When I looked in the box, I saw sparkling gems and ornaments.

Game life, day one.

- I got rich.
