Is this the cost of becoming their chosen?

Felix despaired. He glanced at his parents and their faces were paled. Mia seemed astonished while watching the massive TV, but it only made Felix felt guilty.

He implicated them. If it was not because he was chosen by the immortals, they wouldn’t be put into this situation.

He panicked. He felt suffocated. He gripped his seat hard.

Suddenly, a warm sensation grabbed his hand. He was startled awake, allowing him to take a breath.

He turned towards the origin and discovered it was Krisha.

Krisha forced a smile. She, too, was panicking, but she tried her best to hide it.

She said, "Don’t worry, we’ll face this. I’ll help you protect your family."

Master Shen heard their conversation and nodded. "Be assured, Felix. They won’t need to step out of the plane. We’ll leave this place soon."

His last sentence was filled with delusion—as some believed who overheard him. There had not been a single Beast Tamer, even a Monarch Beast Tamer, had managed to leave the space rift.

The space rift was the most mysterious occurrence ever since they appeared, bringing beasts and different beings that wreck havoc into their world.

Sarah and Noah overheard their conversation and was filled with guilty after they noticed the state of their son. He was beads with sweat, his face was paled, and his body was trembling.

Noah with ghastly expression said, "Son, don’t worry about us."

Sarah pinched his hand, knowing that it wasn’t the right words to say.

She said, "Nothing happened to us yet. Don’t panic. You can’t think clearly. How can you expect to save us when, at this moment, you already faltered? Get a grip, Son!"

Her words struck a chord to Felix.

He was startled awake. His body finally calmed down. He closed his eyes and breathed normally.

Sarah’s words actually echoed throughout the plane. It was deathly quiet earlier until Krisha opened her mouth, so her unrestrained voice were clearly heard by others.

It was an eye opening. They event felt the desire to protect her for being among the weakest in the plane.

However, someone from the plane suddenly said, "There’s no use. We can’t survive."

The atmosphere fell deathly silent. For them, it wasn’t difficult to face the reality.

However, another rebuked him, "Idiot! So would you rather kill yourself than trying to explore and grow stronger in this place?"

"You’re the idiot one!" He stood up and pointed at him. He was trembling. "Do you even really think you can survive in this place? Explore? This place obviously has corrupted Energy! It will only be a matter of time before we became creatures like them?!"

"And so what about it?" He stood up, as well. He shouted, "We are adapt faster than mammals because of our capability.

Go on. Kill yourself. We don’t need someone who’s very pessimistic."

"You go kill yourself!"

They continued to argue, until a Lord Beast Tamer near them exploded his aura, silencing them at once.

The Lord Beast Tamer’s aura was sharp. It was comparable to Master Shen’s Sword Intent.

After the conflict died down, the plane was deathly silent again.

This time, Felix managed to compose himself. He closed his eyes and steadied his breath.

He didn’t ask Guide about the chances of leaving the space rift. He began accepting that they might be trapped forever.

For now, the chances were slim, but it wasn’t definite. It might increase as days pass by, so long as everyone cooperated and adapted to the new world quickly.

He recalled the Flame Sovereigns’ words.

[You are chosen by the Immortals. Demons have taken notice of your existence now. Your battle with them will be inevitable henceforth.

I truly hope you are finally the one...]

Felix took a deep breath and opened his eyes while exhaling.

He saw from the massive TV that the plane was landing at the place where there were barely any presence of other monstrous creatures.

Sky Marshal Kaelor didn’t choose the plains. He believed there would be countless predators roaming in the area.

Instead, he chose one of the colossal obsidian cliffs at the edge of the Maw Trenches.

Despite it being near at the Maw Trenches, its location was favorable. It was an ideal nesting location for them.

It wasn’t difficult to understand Sky Marshal’s intention.

He probably intended to create a large nest for them.

The Obsidian Wing descended and after observing the surroundings, Sky Marshal Kaelor summoned all his beast pets to clear out the flat surface near one of the black cliff, just enough for the Sky Wing to land.

Of course, it was not just an empty flat surface—it was actually a nest for twenty creatures. They possessed lean wolf-like bodies standing nearly three meters tall at the shoulder and reaching five meters in length.

Their strength were comparable to a peak Commander rank.

Sky Marshal Kaelor annihilated them easily. The Energy of his beast pet distorted the Energy coming from the world because of their power.

The Obsidian Wing descended. Silence continued to devour the passengers’ silence.

Finally, Sky Marshal appeared in front of them.

They focused entirely on him.

He said, "I apologized for the unexpected detour of our plane. It might take years for us to return to the city.

I hope everyone will cooperate in order for us to survive."

It was quite difficult to comprehend his words.

The way he said it was awkward.

However, Sky Marshal Kaelor’s face was serious. His tone was filled with authority.

The passengers felt relieved and assured.

Sky Marshal Kaelor said, "The plane has resources that will last us for six months. We can even extend it up to a year if we are being frugal.

Right now, what we need are information.

The Obsidian Wing can gather information for us—the sky condition, the wind patterns, the Energy density... and so on."

Sky Marshal Kaelor swept his gaze around. He was in disbelief he had said many words ever since he became the captain of the Obsidian Wing.

He inwardly sighed.

He narrowed his eyes and said in a somber tone, "I understand how you are feeling now, but panicking won’t help at all.

It’s not wrong to feel scared at the beginning, but if you die because you are scared, that’s where you’re wrong."

The passengers were astonished. They were in disbelief that Sky Marshal Kaleor had the capability to speak like a true leader.

They had forgotten that Sky Marshal Kaelor was a Sky Marshal. He didn’t earn the position through strength alone.

"It will take around five hours for the Obsidian Wing to finally obtain the information we needed.

I hope everyone will use this time to organize their thoughts and emotions. If you need something..."

He was about to mention the crew members of the Obsidian Plane when he realized they were also vulnerable right now.

Although most of them were at the Commander Rank, they were definitely agitated and anxious. Like the passengers they needed time to compose themselves.

Thankfully, Sky Marshal paused just in time.

It took him for a while to continue.

"Please don’t hesitate to reach out to others. Just be sensible. Don’t instigate drama or panic here."

He suddenly released his crackling aura, startling the passengers.

Some felt indignant by his action, while some obediently nodded at him.

Sky Mashal didn’t carelessly release his aura. In fact, he only released half of his full aura, preventing Commander Beast Tamers rank to feel dizzy while Awakener Beast Tamer like Felix’s parents to faint.

As soon as he finished his announcement, he disappeared in his Command Chamber, observing the data collection process of the Obsidian Wing...

...

The Passenger Hall was deathly silent for an hour. Most of them used this chance to meditate.

But some could only last for an hour before stress and anxiousness kicked in.

Nicholas Oak, a wealthy businessman from Chambers City, who visited the Clark City for further business opportunities, was in despair.

Just when he had everything—family, wealth, and status—he immediately lost them.

He turned towards the Commander Beast Tamer beside him, who was meditating.

He snarled. "How can you all be calm? This is ridiculous."

The Commander Beast Tamer opened his right eye and glanced at him indifferently.

He said, "What’s use of panicking and despairing like you?"

Nicholas was infuriated.

He didn’t hesitate to summon three of his beast pet and attacked the Commander Beast Tamer beside him.

The Commander Beast Tamer was taken aback. But he was quick. He was also a businessman like Nicholas, but he had not neglected his fighting power.

He summoned his beast pets and defended himself.

The Passenger Hall fell into chaos.

But after a single breath of time that two Commander Beast Tamer suddenly fought among themselves, Master Shen, the closest beast tamer, stood up and released his Sword Intent.

The two Commander Beast Tamer and their beast pets froze in terror.

They simultaneously glanced at Master Shen.

Master Shen glared at Nicholas.

"Why won’t you behave?"

Nicholas was surprised. He wanted to defend himself, but under the hateful glares of the other passengers who were aware of what had occurred, he gritted his teeth.

Just as he was about to back down, he realized that he had lost everything anyway.

He might as well lose himself.

He was overwhelmed with emotions, allowing him to make a move under the pressure from Master Shen’s Sword Intent directed at him.

He was about to order his beast pet to wreak havoc when he suddenly found his vision turning upside down...
