Chapter 321 – Magic improvement.
(Honestly, this is quiet weird?) – thought Thauma while gathering up mana in one its palms.
(Whenever I obtain attribute, I’m would normally struggle a lot with just elemental mana or the manifestation.)
(Simple put, it is like trying to put your hand inside of solid rock.)
(As you get better at handling the element while also increasing your connection to the said element....)
(...Wait.)
(Does that mean my natural mastery of this element is high?)
[When it comes to elemental attributes, there are two things the mage needs to consider.]
[First is affinity.]
[The affinities are dived into 3 tiers.]
[Standard Tier – You can obtain the attribute normally.]
[Positive Tier – You have extremely strong affinity towards the element, causing your elemental level to increase at the alarming rate from the get go or maybe even allow you to instantly obtain specify elemental attribute without even trying.]
[Negative Tier – You possess negative affinity towards the element attribute, causing you to have hard time getting element or may not have even ability to possess the specific element.]
[The second thing is natural mastery.]
[Simple put, how good are you naturally good at controlling the said element, your natural understanding of the element as well as how well you can handle using the said element.]
(I don’t really have any negative or positive affinity when it comes to any element from what I’ve observed so far.)
(But... The gravity?)
(I don’t know why, but I can feel somehow being way better at it than I should be?)
(Does that mean gravity magic is magic attribute that I’m naturally good at?)
"..."
(Still, I only have the weakest form of affinity right now, so I can’t really use it yet for anything, like the simplest thing.)
(I don’t know if I’m only feeling it right now and maybe later when I use it there will be a problems.)
(But still.) – thought Thauma as it extended its hands forward towards one set of dummies.
[Earth Magic X Arcane Magic: Forget Blast Blade Field - Spread]
A large number of earth spikes sprouted from the ground, unleashing a rampaging strike, before moments later every single spike cracked open with energy and blew up, unleashing a blast in all directions as well hail of shrapnel that tore apart the training dummies.
[Earth Magic X Arcane Magic: Forget Blast Blade Field - Concentrated]
The next spell that Thauma casted was the very same spell it casted before, but in different form.
Instead of creating a series of spikes, it instead created a single massive spike that strike the training dummy from below, ripping apart, before then having the object crack up with energy and then unleashed explosion.
However, this explosion was way more powerful as not only the blast which unleashed devasting damage to several dummies, but also the shrapnel that just erased the training dummies.
(Even if I cannot use these three elements perfectly in combat, I still have earth and arcane magic.)
[Arcane Magic: Mana Eruption]
Thauma created a magic circle which in the next moment exploded from afar.
[Earth Magic: Javelin Launcher]
Thauma manipulated the earth right next to him before then firing a bunch of javelins made out of earth that flew at the alarming rate and pierced several time one of the training dummies.
[Earth Magic: Javelin Launcher]
Thauma casted that spell once again, but this time he used his own magic to generate the earthy spears without manipulating the earth below it.
After generating its own javelins, the golem launched them and once again pierced one of the training golems.
(The mastery of the earth magic and arcane magic reached an extremely good point, where I can even quickly fire off some strong attacks, no matter if I’m manipulating earth or just creating it from the scratch.)
[Earth Magic X Arcane Magic: Devouring Earth Trap Seal]
Thauma placed its hands on the ground, creating a magic circle which in the next moment disappeared.
Thauma moved away from the spot where the magic circle was just in and ordered one of the training golems to move to this location.
The golem moved just as its master commanded and in the exact moment it stepped on the designated spot, the magic circle appeared and the earth below the golem move and warped on its own, instantly grabbing and surrounding the leg of the golem and bounding it the place.
The golem tried to break free by forcing its way out, or just attacking the spot... But it wasn’t working, until the dungeon master itself chancel the trap, freeing the golem and ordering to just stand in place.
(My ability to combine the elements increased to the astonishing level and I’ve also learned different kind of spells types you can use. For example, a trap type spells and seal type spells.)
[Earth Magic X Enchantment X Craftsmanship: Earthy Forged Gautlet]
The golem manifested a gauntlet of earth around its hand and forearm, creating a weapon that also functioned as armor.
However, something was clearly off about this spell.
Thauma used this spell few times in the past, but this time the gauntlet was not only made faster, but it was also somewhat way better made, making it look like less than bunch of rocks put together.
Thauma looked towards training golem, before then it swung its earth covered arm, striking the training golem and straight up shattering its body from the impact alone.
(I’ve evolved and mastered some of my old spells that I’ve had been using.) – thought Thauma as it generated the [Earthy Forged Gautlet] on each of its six arms.
(And I can finial properly use THIS thing in combat!)
([Earthy Forged Gautlet]. It is was one of my strongest spells I’ve created early on.)
(I’ve managed to improve this spell so much, that not only I can now create it quickly, but I also increased its offensive and defensive ability.)
(And when I really try hard.) – thought Thauma as it destroyed each of its gauntlets before then putting three of its arms forearms together and generating at somewhat slower pace.
However, once it was done, a massive gauntlet of earth was created, but this one was way better refined, looking like a proper piece of armor, which was bit oversized through.
The golem walked towards one of the larger training dummies which was even wearing armor.
The dungeon master swung its earth made gauntlet at the training dummy, striking it and unleashing such powerful strike that the metallic armor straight up shattered and the training dummy was sent flying, smashing right into the wall.
The dummy was completely obliviated by the strike, even though it was wearing armor, it still took astonishing amount of damage that even caused its armor to be completely destroyed.
(This is the power I can do when I take my time making this weapon.)
(The power is truly overwhelming.)
(And this wasn’t with any buffs or anything.)
(Heck. This body itself isn’t meant for the close combat either! If I were to use my proper combat form, then the power of this strike would increase further, maybe allowing me to completely tore the entire training dummy in single strike.)
(Still, I wonder if my golems could reach THIS level of strength?) – thought Thauma as it looked at its earthy gauntlet as it crumbled away and disappeared.
(I’ve heard about magic tools or spell books that contains a magic circle that allows people to cast magic or empower their own spells.)
(It is nice idea to add something like this to the golems... But if the magic circle would end up damaged, then they couldn’t cast any magic.)
(Not only that, the problem is with energy.)
(The golems needs mana to operate and if the spells consumes too much mana, it could cause the golem to deactivate.)
(But then again... Having different ways to attack is good.)
(The only magic-oriented attack I truly have are the bombs.)
(However....)
"..."
(Wait... Wait a god damned moment.)
(...If I use that restorative Forget Skill... Then I could maybe work it with drawn magic circles....)
(No wait! I think I can do something even better!) – thought Thauma as it manifested arcane magic and earth magic in its palm.
(Yes... If this work out, I could probably create something truly mighty!)
(Earth golem champion.)
(A golem that isn’t just made out of earth but also out of earthily attribute mana.)
(A earth golem.)
(But! What about other elements?)
(Is it possible to make golems out of different elements?)
(Wind.)
(Fire.)
(Water.)
(And maybe arcane?)
(True, their forms aren’t truly solid enough... HOWEVER! What if I could give them physical form?) – thought Thauma as it used the arcane magic to create a small rod-shaped object, which it grabbed and even could interact with in physical way.
(It is possible to do something like that, so what is truly stopping me from creating arcane golem!?)
(Not only that... But if I take this further.)
(If I truly manage to create arcane elemental golem then how about it, I combine it with the earth golem?)
(And I top it all of with my mastery of combining earth magic and arcane magic?)
(Yes... YES! THS COULD WORK!)
(AND ONCE IT DOES, I WILL CREATE THE MONSTER THAT WILL TRULY LEVEL UP THE PLAYING FIELD!)
