...

They walked in the door and saw a boy sitting on the sofa. He bore some resemblance to Sean Sutton. Anne Sutton had only known she had a sister; now, it seemed she really did have a brother too!

A maid said to them, "Please wait a moment. I’ll go get Mr. Sutton." With that, she went upstairs.

Charles Prescott sat down on a nearby sofa.

He made himself at home wherever he went. The man was so self-assured he never showed a moment of restraint.

He glanced at Anne Sutton and said, "Have a seat."

The boy saw the group walk in, and his gaze landed on Anne Sutton. He said to her, "Are you my dad’s daughter?"

Maya Evans had shown them pictures of Anne Sutton’s family, so he knew who she was.

Anne Sutton looked at him but said nothing.

Seeing her father’s illegitimate son put her in a terrible mood, and she didn’t know what to say.

She was afraid that if she opened her mouth, only curses would come out!

The boy, holding a water gun, reacted to her silence by aiming it straight at Anne Sutton and squirting. "You’re the one who bullied my sister! I heard you got her fired from her job, too."

The water sprayed onto Anne Sutton’s face. Seeing this, Charles Prescott stood up, walked over to the boy, raised his hand, and gave him two slaps across the face.

The two slaps stunned the ten-year-old Dylan Evans.

He looked at Charles Prescott, a bit dazed. Charles snatched the water gun from him and said, "You have no manners at all."

Then he broke the water gun and threw it directly into a nearby trash can.

Grace stood to the side, watching Charles Prescott. ’Even though I know my boss is a scumbag,’ she thought, ’he’s just... so handsome!’

Dylan Evans finally snapped out of it. Seeing that Charles Prescott had not only hit him but also broken his toy and thrown it away, he burst into tears.

Maya Evans walked out, asking, "Dylan, what’s wrong?"

"Mom, that man hit me!" Dylan Evans pointed at Charles Prescott.

Charles Prescott stood aside and glanced calmly at Maya Evans, showing no sign of guilt whatsoever.

Sean Sutton came out as well. He had just been upstairs, discussing today’s events with Maya Evans.

Maya Evans confronted Charles Prescott. "Who are you? What gives you the right to hit my son?"

"I felt like hitting him, so I did. What about it?"

Right in front of her, Charles Prescott sat back down.

Sean Sutton was a bit taken aback to see Charles Prescott and Anne Sutton together. He stopped Maya Evans from making things difficult for Charles and walked over, saying, "Charles, what brings you here?"

Hearing him call the man Charles, Maya Evans finally processed who he was. ’This man is Charles Prescott, the president of the Fawcett Group?’

Yvonne Evans had come along as well. When she saw Charles Prescott, she was momentarily stunned. ’He’s so handsome!’

’He’s much more handsome in person than he is in the media!’

Charles Prescott looked at Sean Sutton and said, "I came to see you."

Maya Evans asked, "Why are you here with Anne Sutton?"

’And why on earth would he hit her son for no reason?’

Charles Prescott looked at Maya Evans, then glanced at Anne Sutton. "We were just heading in the same direction," he said.

’He would never admit he was here to watch the show!’

Anne Sutton had been staring at Dylan Evans, but now she turned her gaze to Maya Evans.

Maya Evans flinched under her gaze and warned, "Let me tell you, Anne Sutton, your father is here. Don’t even think about hitting me again."

Sean Sutton looked at Anne Sutton. "Shouldn’t you be at the hospital with your mother? What are you doing here?"

Anne Sutton replied, "I came to see you all, of course. I had no idea you had a house like this on the side!"

Anne Sutton looked around the house. "This must have cost a pretty penny when you bought it!"

Maya Evans immediately became vigilant. "You’re not thinking of going after this house, are you? Let me tell you, Anne Sutton, this house is mine! It has nothing to do with you."

Even though Sean Sutton had bought it, the house was in her name; it belonged to her and her children.

Anne Sutton looked at her father and said, "President Sutton, you really are something else!"

Seeing her looking at him with such sarcasm, Sean Sutton said, "Anne, I’m your father! Don’t you talk to me like that."

"You’re not my father, and I don’t have a father like you. I only came here today to tell you that from now on, if the Sutton Group runs into any more trouble, I won’t lift a finger."

"Do you want to watch the Sutton Family go bankrupt? Do you want to see me go to jail? What good would my imprisonment do you?"

"Like I care!" Anne Sutton said. "I’ll take my mother and we’ll live on our own. Do whatever you want."

Sean Sutton knew about her current relationship with Nathan Fawcett.

When Anne Sutton said something like that, she was more than capable of following through.

Sean Sutton pleaded with Anne Sutton, "Anne, my dear daughter... don’t be like this! I know I was wrong! I’m still married to your mother. I’ll be good to her from now on, I’ll make it up to her! Please, forgive me, won’t you? The company really can’t afford any problems."

Charles Prescott sat to the side, watching Anne Sutton.

Anne Sutton stood up. "Fine," she said. "Make her go to my mother and kneel for forgiveness. Then I’ll consider forgiving you."

Hearing this, Maya Evans’s face darkened. She had just managed to go to the hospital today and regain some dignity. How could she possibly apologize to Mina Ford?

’Wouldn’t that be a slap in my own face?’

Maya Evans said, "Anne Sutton, don’t take it too far."

Anne Sutton looked at Maya Evans and said, "Didn’t you think you were so clever? You thought that by giving my father a son, you’d won? Well, congratulations! I hope you get everything you wished for."

After saying her piece, Anne Sutton walked out the door.

Sean Sutton watched her leave, then turned to Charles Prescott. "Charles, look at her... She has no sense of priorities! Please, help me talk some sense into her."

"..." Charles Prescott glanced at him and said, "I won’t help you. I told you, we’re even."

The last time, when he helped Sean Sutton get Yvonne Evans into the company, was the absolute last time he would help him.

’Besides, him, trying to talk sense into Anne Sutton? Isn’t that just asking for death?’

’He can barely fend for himself when he’s around Anne Sutton as it is. He’s desperately trying to repair his image in her eyes right now.’

Sean Sutton said, "Aren’t you afraid I’ll reveal what happened before...?"

Charles Prescott’s expression darkened as he looked at him. He couldn’t believe the man still had the gall to threaten him with that. "Go ahead and say it," Charles Prescott said. "But you’ll bear the consequences. If you don’t believe me, feel free to give it a try."

His face turned ice-cold, scaring Sean Sutton into silence.

Sean Sutton knew that neither Charles Prescott nor his father were people to be trifled with, and he was genuinely afraid of them!

Anne Sutton walked out and stood by the door, realizing it was a difficult place to hail a cab. Besides, she had come in Charles Prescott’s car.

She stood at the entrance, taking out her phone to call a car. Charles Prescott walked out and looked at her. "I’ll take you home," he said.

"No need," said Anne Sutton.

Charles Prescott gazed at her. "Anne! I know you’re in a bad mood. Just let me take you home! It’s late, and I’m not comfortable with you going back alone."

"..." Anne Sutton ignored him and started walking down the road.

Grace came out and looked at Charles Prescott. "President Prescott."

Charles Prescott glanced at her and said, "You can go on back."
