Chapter 271: Make Her Move into Nathan Fawcett’s Room
Caleb had been furious with Nathan Fawcett, but seeing Anne Sutton now, his mood improved slightly.

Nathan Fawcett was still at home in bed; she had to go back and take care of him.

Anne Sutton looked at the man and said, "Yeah! He’s not feeling well, so I need to go back and take care of him."

Seeing them chatting and laughing together, Anna Linden frowned. "Why are those two together?" she asked.
Chloe Chase said, "I know! I find it strange, too."

Chloe Chase looked at her employer. "Ma’am, what is it?"
"We’ll talk about it tonight at home."

That evening, Anne Sutton returned home. She had just parked her car when she saw Anna Linden getting out of hers.
Seeing Anna Linden, Anne said, "Dr. Linden."

’What’s with her?’
’She was perfectly fine earlier!’
Anna Linden said, "You seem to be getting pretty close to Caleb Summers."
Anne Sutton: "..."
’How does she know?’
’Did she see us when Caleb came to the hospital today?’
Anna Linden looked at Anne and said, "I remember telling you not to do anything that would let Ethan Linden down. Or do my words just mean nothing to you?"
"I haven’t," Anne said. "You’re mistaken! There’s nothing between me and Caleb Summers."
"Nothing between you? Do you think I’m blind?" Anna Linden retorted. "I saw it with my own two eyes today. Was I seeing a ghost? Anne Sutton, we let you live in the Linden Family’s home for Ian’s sake! You are his biological mother, after all. We only let you move in for the child’s sake! Don’t start acting like we can’t get by without you, pouncing on any decent-looking man you see!"

Although Anna didn’t approve of Anne being with Nathan and planned to kick her out when she got the chance, Anne’s current insolent behavior still made her furious!
Anne said, "Believe it or not. I’ve said what I have to say."

Chloe Chase helped support Anna Linden. "Ma’am, please calm down. Right now, both Ian and the young master need her. There’s nothing we can do. Let’s just wait until the young master has recovered."
"What’s the point of keeping her around now?" Anna Linden said. "It’s not like I see her living with Ethan Linden!"

Nathan Fawcett had been working on his laptop, but when he heard the housekeeper greet Anne outside, he quickly put his computer away, lay down on the bed, and feigned a gravely ill appearance.
Anne pushed the door open and walked in. Seeing Nathan’s "weak" state, she asked, "Feeling any better?"
Nathan Fawcett opened his eyes and looked at her, acting as if he didn’t even have the strength to speak. "You’re back?"
"..." Anne stared at the man. ’He wasn’t this bad when I came back last night. How does he look like he’s on death’s door now?’
Anne asked, "How did you rest for a whole day and end up looking even worse?"
Nathan said, "I don’t know. My constitution has always been poor. This is pretty normal."
"..." Anne walked over, looked at him, and asked, "Did you eat your meals on time?"
"Mhm. I finished all the porridge you made."
He glanced at the time. It was almost dark outside. "How was work today?"
"It was fine." Nothing much had happened, aside from Caleb Summers showing up at the hospital and giving her a scare.
Nathan saw her sour expression and asked, "What’s wrong? Who upset you?"
"It’s nothing. Your mother just had a few words with me when I got back."
Nathan asked, "What did she say to you now?"
"Nothing much. I gave as good as I got, anyway," Anne said. "What do you want to eat? I’ll go make it. Where’s Ian?"
’I don’t see Ian.’
Nathan said, "He’s at his lessons."
Anne stood up. "Then I’ll go check on him and make dinner."
She walked out the door, planning to go to her room to change first. But then she saw the household maids throwing all of her things out of the guest room.
Seeing this, Anne froze for a moment. ’I just had a little argument with Anna Linden... is she really kicking me out?’
"What’s the meaning of this?" Anne asked.
A maid looked at Anne and said, "The Madam said this room needs to be cleared out for a guest. She wants you to move into the young master’s room."
"..." Anne stared at the maid and said, "Is she in her right mind?"
’She actually wants me to move into Nathan Fawcett’s room?’
The maid was so startled by Anne’s words she wished she could run over and cover her mouth. "You can’t say that about the Madam!"
