Chapter 49: Wanda’s Ability Awakens
"Hm?"
Just as Orion Cross was preparing to activate his ability and head to the mutant world, he suddenly paused.
"What happened? Did you fail?"
Wolverine looked at Orion Cross and asked anxiously.
"No. I just suddenly received a message."
Orion Cross smiled as he spoke.
The mission was complete.

Using the dimensional coordinates retrieved from Wolverine’s consciousness, Orion Cross activated extradimensional magic.
Thud!
Inside a bedroom, Wolverine suddenly woke up from the bed and looked at his hands. "I’m back?"
"That’s right. You’re back. Remember to put on your pants before coming downstairs. Wanda, close your eyes. Pietro, open the window and air the room out."
Standing by the window, Orion Cross reminded everyone in turn.
"What is this place?"
Wolverine picked up the pants beside him and put them on, looking around in confusion as if trying to recall the past.
"Maybe someone will help you remember very soon."
Hearing the dense sound of footsteps rapidly approaching outside, Orion Cross stood in front of Wanda and quietly waited for the door to be broken open.
"Hm?!"
Suddenly feeling something around his waist, Orion Cross looked down and saw a pair of hands hugging him from behind. At the same time, he felt something soft like cotton candy against his back.
The person behind him was not Wanda?!
Orion Cross was startled and hurriedly turned his head to look.
"Wanda, you..."
The curtains were pulled open by Pietro, and sunlight from outside shone in, revealing the appearance of everyone in the room.
"Little sister, how did you grow up all of a sudden?"
Pietro looked at Wanda behind Orion Cross in shock.
"You too."
Wanda looked at Pietro with the same expression.
The two children, who had originally been just over ten years old, had instantly fast-forwarded into adolescence. From the looks of them, they were at least fifteen or sixteen.
"Kid, in this world, you really should already be sixteen."
Wolverine had finished putting on his clothes by now. Seeing their confusion, he opened his mouth to explain.
"There’s a version of me in this world? What about Wanda?"
Pietro asked in surprise.
"I don’t know..."
Boom!
Before Wolverine could finish speaking, the door behind him was kicked open. Several men holding pistols and clubs walked in.
"Your mission was to protect the boss’s daughter, not sleep with her!"
The man in the lead glanced at the woman still sleeping on the bed. Anger appeared on his face as he walked up to Wolverine. "And on top of that, you brought other people with you. Are you having some kind of group party? You bastard!"
"Oh, if you hadn’t mentioned it, I wouldn’t even have noticed there was another person here. Should we look away?"
Pietro followed the man’s gaze and quickly covered his eyes.
"Shut up, brat!"
The man was furious. More importantly, he had already decided that Wolverine had brought Orion Cross’s group here to mess around with the boss’s daughter, so he pulled the trigger at Pietro without hesitation.
According to Quicksilver’s ending in Age of Ultron, Pietro’s life had ended because of a bullet.
But... this was the mutant world.
Boom!
A crimson energy blast slammed directly into the men, sending them flying backward along with the wall of the house.
Another silver flash passed by. Quicksilver snatched the man’s pistol away, and a bullet had appeared in his palm as well.
"This is my superpower? This is awesome!"
Pietro ran back and forth through the room in excitement, shouting joyfully.
"Don’t forget what matters, kid."
Finding the right moment, Wolverine reached out and grabbed Pietro as he crashed toward him.
The group walked out of the room. When they passed by the men Wanda had blasted away, Wolverine could not help sighing. "Powerful ability. Unfortunately, this time we need brains, not bullets."
"Haven’t you heard the saying, ’Truth lies within the range of the cannon’?" Orion Cross smiled and retorted.
"Then I hope you can use your ’cannon’ to help me convince those two people. Get in."
Wolverine did not say more. After going downstairs, he took out the car keys he had conveniently stolen from those men earlier, opened the door, and climbed in.
On the way to Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters, Orion Cross took the opportunity to familiarize himself with the Desert Emperor Ascended Form he had just obtained.
This was not a transformation ability like High Noon or Galakrond.
Having absorbed magic power from Aurelion Sol, Orion Cross himself already possessed the qualifications to become an Ascended.
In other words, Orion Cross could use all the related abilities in his normal state. After entering his Ascended Form, the power of those abilities would increase dramatically.
"Hm?"
After getting a grasp on the ability, Orion Cross suddenly realized that he seemed to have gained several new missions.
