Master of the brave.

Night before 1

Arriving at the fort, the line will spend the night preparing for tomorrow's exploration.

Instead of staying overnight at the fort, I purposefully camped in an open place in front of the fort because this mission combines training.

Though the journey so far had been through the use of horses, the students had floated the colour of their fatigue quite a bit.

But no one tries to lie down.

I can't help it.

Even in front of the fortress where the knights reside, there may be fierce demons lurking in the woods at the end of their eyes and noses, just as if darkness were spreading.

In this vicinity close to the imperial capital, powerful demons would not just exist, but that is not why fear fades.

Given the itinerary from tomorrow, we all understood with our heads that we should lay down and rest at all, but the tension prevents our eyes from forgiving it.

Next to the flames that were set in the square several times, each of them sits solidified among themselves who are acquaintances.

The meal was prepared at the fort, so the students were passing through their thoughts when they ate it and filled their bellies.

Particularly exciting are the surroundings of a few participating female quasi-knights.

In this murderous atmosphere, their presence becomes a sober for the men.

Many people aspire to knight regardless of their qualifications if they are men, but many of those who aspire to knight in women have low qualifications.

Often a daughter of a knight's lineage.

Sometimes it's an opportunity for balls to interact with the sons of upstream aristocrats, and my daughters are actively speaking.

Nevertheless, it never even went as far as a strange atmosphere, even though the Orthodox Knights, who were in action as an army and were on watch, were patrolling their surroundings.

Cornelia was also talked to by one male student about whether she was in an unusual atmosphere.

It's unusual for a student to talk to her.

Even same-sex, even though it seems to be somewhat avoided, had it been spoken of by the opposite sex, it would have been at least a month of dating, but it was not in Winn's memory.

Together with Winn and Rock, the three of us were surrounding the fire, but the quasi-knight by the name of Leggin, in large part, talked about coming near her.

"This is very beautiful. Its side, illuminated by flames, is like Anastasia the goddess painted in a famous painting. Being with you in a place like this must also be God's guide. Why don't you talk to us over there?

"I'm sorry."

It was a quick answer.

Cornelia remained staring as if she had been fascinated by the flames of the fire, and said no without even seeing Leggin's face offering her kneeling hand in a conceited manner.

"... P... haha"

Rock bent his back and let him shake his shoulder for a while, but he finally laughed uncomfortably.

"Don't laugh!

I guess you didn't expect me to say no with an instant answer.

Leggin, who had the look of being taken aback for a moment, yells at the laughing rock.

"I'm sorry."

When he stops laughing for a moment, Rock keeps laughing with his belly again after apologizing to Leggin for imitating Cornelia's tone.

"Goddamn it, folks, the mood is up..."

Turning his face bright red, Leggin glances at the rock as he laughs down and looks at the wins sitting beside him.

"Whoa, isn't that Wynn? Last year, I made you Cotempan, and you still haven't given up?

"Oh."

Leggin is the man who was last year's chairman.

Winn and Leggin compete in the exam - he is also the person who gave Winn the guidance.

"Hmm, I said it's a wasted effort. Why don't we just get back to the world we deserve?

"What are you talking about? If Winn's sword was something decent, wasn't it you who was in the opposite position?

You laughed too hard to breathe. But Rock, with a bright red face, says back with tears in his eyes.

"Don't be silly. To blame the sword for losing is just civilians. There's a lot to lose."

"But it must be true."

Stop laughing and Rock tells you to throw up.

"You switched swords by buying exams for money anyway. After testing the evidence, Winn's sword will soon be disposed of."

"Why should I do that?"

"Didn't Jade try to be convenient?

Don't talk to me.

When Leggin shook his head like a shudder, he turned to Jade, who was sitting a little further away from them.

Jade did not enter the circle of the other students and is still sitting alone.

The same is true on the road, but it's rare that Jade hasn't taken the surroundings.

Did Jade's surroundings not participate in this mission?

"My house, the Rainhart family and the Cliffdorf family are at odds. Politically. There's no reason for him to make it easier on me."

"Gu..."

The lock pushes silence.

It's true.

The Marquis Rainhart family, Leggin's house, was the political enemy of the Marquis Cliffdorf family.

Both families have produced many generals and have fought for power in the military.

Leggin was also surrounded by his surroundings.

Especially on this assignment, it seems that many of his surroundings are on this assignment, and that on the contrary gave the impression that Jade was isolated by himself.

There's no way Jade Van Kleifdorf could be any more convenient to Leggin Van Rainhart than the two families are in such a relationship.

Even when Rock approached the instructor, he was driven away by the smell of it in the dark.

"Besides, if I fought, my chairman won't move."

This is also true again.

Leggin's sword arm was certainly one of the top quasi-knights I have now, and it was like passing was already determined by merit at the time I took the exam.

He didn't even have a reason to work wrongfully for the president.

"Got it? If you know what I mean, don't have dreams you don't deserve, just go back to the world you belong to."

An unidentified dream.

Wynn dropped his eyes on the knight's sword strapped to his waist.

It is a second-hand item, granted only by the Equipment Division for the duration of this mandate.

It is his dream to be officially awarded this.

It took me three years to put this around my waist, albeit borrowed.

Hasn't this become a step towards that disguised dream?

"Speaking of which..."

Cornelia, who had kept her silence after turning down Leggin's invitation, took her gaze off the flames and stared at Winn.

"Wynn, why don't you give up being a knight?

Winn, who was blinding himself to the knight's sword at the waist as he overheard Rock and Leggin's contention half as other personnel, returned to me with Cornelia's question.

Because I remember taking the same question before.

That was when I reunited with Leticia.

"Why did you want to be so knightly to go through four years?

I think it's just a question from a junior who's lost his way, and the answer I returned...

'Cause you swore to yourself. He said he'd always be a knight. "

Even if the path was endlessly far away, if we did not give up, we would surely reach it.

Winn believes that and waves his sword every day.

'Besides, I used to have close friends. I'm sure there's only one person still working so hard in the far reaches. I'm sure I'll never see you again, but if I ever see you again, I want to see you with my chest up, even if I'm not a knight,'

It was only a month ago, but it seems like a far past story now that Leticia seems even more distant than she felt back then.

But...

"I guess I saw a knight as a kid and admired him. In me, a knight is a sword that is stronger than anyone, smarter, and never breaks. The last shield of my husband, who is on the side of the weak and should be protected. He's the embodiment of that ideal."

As then, Winn's thoughts on the knight have not changed.

Leticia, who was working alone in a distant land.

She thought she would never see her again, far beyond her expectations - returning as a 'brave man'.

Accomplish a feat that no one could have achieved by defeating the Demon King.

I mean, look at me.

I still can't even qualify as an associate knight and keep rising to my dreams.

"There's no talent, no magic, no power, no money, no exhaustion to be a knight. You can't just give up on dreams."

I just have to keep rising.

Because this was all I had.

Eyes off Cornelia, staring at the flames scattering patchy and firepowder.

Reticia, who returned, was not like she was when she was young, and still admires me for Winn.

He ascends and stuffs to a height far greater than himself, and there he also continues to believe that he will always reach again.

The world she stands in is endlessly far and far ahead of her path, and although I don't think she can get that far, he also has something to hold on to.

Leticia has a crush on herself.

As a woman, I look at Wynn, one man.

But even if he realizes it, Winn can't live up to that thought.

The surroundings won't allow it.

Then at least let me just secure her position as her best friend.

Let that be as accomplished as fulfilling the dream of becoming a sworn knight, and you won't even be able to name her best friend.

"Well, even if I keep admiring you, like I said before, I've failed the exam three times. But I'm confident no one can beat the evil of giving up."

"Sure, the evil of your giving up could be the best in the Empire."

In a tone that hid the inside of his chest, Rock banged Winn's shoulder and laughed brightly.

"Well, it's a dream of high hopes for civilians."

Leggin mocked.

It was in there, only Cornelia didn't laugh, staring at the side of Winn with a bitter smile.

His eyes, staring at the flames of the incendiary fire as he monologued, had a strong radiance of will.

She had crossed swords with him several times in her training, and I thought to myself that it didn't seem like a fall to the point where he would fall over and over again.

At first, it was just a pattern that I put together for the reason that there was no one to train with each other, but when I look into those eyes that dwelled on his strong will, it's a matter of her own standing, but I want to know about him.

- Even though it's a problem.

Still, Cornelia was becoming incapable of dampening her interest in the wins gushing from within herself.

Like Cornelia, there was someone staring at Winn from a distance.

It is Aldo.

I was surprised to learn that Winn was on this mission.

His grades are significantly worse for his magical relationship practical skills.

Not only that, but it also means I'm from a civilian, and I don't seem to remember it from above.

So I was treading that I would never be recommended for this assignment.

"Are there also students who care?

One of the knights who rendezvous in this fort speaks to Aldo, who is gazing behind Winn.

Like Aldo, he was a knight who had previously been on the front line and an old familiar with Aldo.

"Is that... a Winn candidate, right? Is this the guy Mr. Aldo cares about?

"He says it's ideal for him to be a knight. A sword stronger than any other, smarter and never broken..."

Aldo turns a blind eye and rebuts Winn's words.

"You look like a child's dream or a knight coming out of a story..."

But he never laughed either, divulging that sentiment.

Surely such a knight only comes out in the story.

Reality isn't that sweet.

But isn't it the knight statue he spoke of that ideal they should have aspired to?

Nevertheless, because of their different ideals and realities, they were forced to make decisions.

"If it was meant to be, he might have been a knight,"

"Huh? But he's definitely a fallout that's supposed to be his fourth admission this year, isn't he?

"Well, only part of it is known."

Take your eyes off the win and walk out slowly.

Near the fort, though, there is no guarantee that there will be no warcraft nearby.

Given the plan, it was necessary to do exactly what was given.

"Even once, everyone would think so if they saw his sword moves"

"Oh, that's exciting. Are you suggesting that Mr. Aldo is willing to admit it?"

"Oh, I should have been a user (...)"

The knight of a colleague also silences the words of Aldo, mixed with dark sounds.

He doesn't seem to have much awareness of himself, but he is the one whom that 'brave man (Leticia)' admires with his master.

How his presence will affect this plan.

No matter how things progressed, in case Winn even got into a life-loss situation - perhaps the "limitless closeness to God" that made that man look burns down the empire, both of us.

Nevertheless, the plan has already begun and cannot be turned back.

- Can Your Excellency successfully seal that brave man...

When I think of the face of our former boss, the old general, who exchanged cups of goodbye with us and sent them out with a smile, Aldo exhales a small breath.

It would be inappropriate to see that venerable old general again, either way, whether the plan succeeds or fails.

I don't have time for that one anymore.

That's why we can't let this plan fail.

With a dark resolve in his chest, Aldo threw his gaze in the direction where Shimrug, the Empire City, would be.
